General insurance agencies · Search engine optimisation

Appear when a trader searches for the fire policy their bank has asked for.

SEO for a general insurance agency is the work of making your pages the answer when a trader, society secretary or clinic owner searches for a specific cover. GullySales writes and structures those pages around the covers you place and the premises you know.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

Last updated 18 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For general insurance agencies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Searchers use the bank's wording, not the insurer's”

A merchant types fire policy for loan, or standard fire and special perils for shop. The agency page that uses that wording and explains it plainly is found, while a page titled Our products is not.

  • “Product pages written for everyone rank for no one”

One page listing fire, marine, liability and travel gives a search engine no clear subject. A page for each cover, with the buyer it suits, gives each its own chance.

  • “Insurer brochure text is already everywhere”

Copying product wording from an insurer's site puts your page beside hundreds of identical ones. A page built on your own handling of proposals and claims says something no brochure does.

  • “Search brings a question before it brings a buyer”

Owners ask how the sum insured is worked out and what a policy excludes. Answering plainly, without quoting a price, earns the visit and the later call.

What we do

What we deliver for general insurance agencies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Cover and premises page plan

A list of pages, one per cover and per type of premises, with the question each answers.

Result: You know which pages exist and which are missing.

  2. Page titles and headings in a buyer's words

Titles written from how traders and societies actually phrase the search.

Result: Each page states its subject in the first line.

  3. Sum insured explainer

A plain page on how stock, fittings and building are valued before a proposal.

Result: A searcher can understand the question the agent will ask.

  4. Internal links between related covers

Links from the fire page to burglary, liability and the renewal page.

Result: A reader can move from one cover to the next.

  5. Compliance review step

Each page goes to you before publishing so your insurer's advertising rules are checked.

Result: Nothing is published without your sign-off.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can SEO bring us enquiries?
It puts your pages in front of people searching for cover. Whether they enquire depends on the page, your response and the market. GullySales does not promise rankings or leads.
Should we publish premium rates for SEO?
Premium depends on the insurer, premises and sum insured, so a fixed figure would mislead. Advertising rules differ by regulator and insurer, so check with your own compliance adviser before publishing any figure.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
