Wealth management firms · WhatsApp marketing

An investor will ask on WhatsApp what he would never ask in a meeting.

WhatsApp for an advisory firm is where a client asks a quick question, sends a document and confirms a meeting. It is also a channel where advice gets given with no record kept, which is a compliance problem. GullySales sets up the business account and the rules for what may be said there.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

Last updated 5 Oct 2026. Rules for this trade differ by state and professional body, and they change. We describe restrictions in general terms, so check the current position with your own council or adviser before you publish anything.

For wealth management firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Advice given in a chat still needs a record”

A one-line answer about whether to redeem is advice, and it has to be recorded, retained and consistent with the plan. Settle with your compliance officer which number is used and how those chats are kept, before advisers settle into their personal phones.

  • “Market panic arrives on WhatsApp first”

On the day the index falls, clients message rather than ring. One prepared line from the firm, sent to everyone who consented, beats a dozen advisers improvising something slightly different.

  • “No returns, no performance, no screenshots”

Advertisement rules restrict how returns may be shown, and a forwarded portfolio screenshot is a claim. Have your compliance officer approve the standing messages and keep the rest to logistics and documents.

What we do

What we deliver for wealth management firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business account in the firm's name

The firm number, the address, the hours, a greeting message and a short profile carrying your registration details.

Result: Client conversations stay with the firm when an adviser leaves.

  2. Rules for what may be said in a chat

What counts as advice, what has to move to a recorded call or an email, and how chats are retained, agreed with your compliance officer.

Result: Advisers know where the line is.

  3. Saved replies for the routine questions

How to complete KYC, where to find a statement, how the fee is charged and how to book a review, written to stay clear of advice.

Result: Most messages are answered without an adviser's time.

  4. A prepared message for a falling market

The standing text, approved in advance, that goes out when clients start messaging, saying what the firm is doing and when they will hear more.

Result: One steady message instead of twelve improvised ones.

  5. Meeting confirmations and document requests

The date, the adviser, what to bring and the documents needed, sent on booking and again before the meeting.

Result: Fewer meetings are wasted on missing paperwork.

  6. Consent recorded, and a way to stop

Who agreed to be contacted, on which number and about what, with a one-word way out.

Result: The firm stays welcome on the channel clients actually use.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What an advisory firm sets down before any client conversation moves onto WhatsApp.

Rules for investment advisers, distributors and portfolio managers differ by regulator and change, so have your compliance officer approve the wording first.

A firm number, not the adviser's own
Register WhatsApp Business on a number the firm owns, with the firm's registered name and registration details on the profile. Advice on a personal phone cannot be reviewed, archived or handed on.
Consent recorded before any message
Add a line to the client onboarding form and record the date: the client agrees to scheduling and document messages on WhatsApp. A prospect who rang for a first meeting has agreed to nothing beyond that call.
What may and may not be sent
Write for staff the list of permitted messages, such as meeting times and document requests, and the list of prohibited ones, such as recommendations, returns and screenshots of performance. Check with your compliance officer.
Records and retention
Decide how chats are archived and for how long, who can see them, and what the firm's regulator expects. A client message that asks for advice should be moved to the firm's formal channel and recorded.
Templates and who may send them
A meeting confirmation or document request you start yourself needs an approved template. Limit sending rights to named staff. Check WhatsApp's current business policy and pricing before planning how many go out.
A stop word and a fallback
Every message offers a way to stop and names another way to reach the firm. Honour a request to stop at once, and note on the record that the client prefers email or a call.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand current WhatsApp use

We review how customers currently message you and how consistently, if at all, it is answered.

  2. 2

    Audit common questions

We identify the questions that come up repeatedly, which decide what should be automated first.

  3. 3

    Set up automation and templates

An automated first response and quick reply templates are built for the most common needs.

  4. 4

    Connect to the CRM

Conversations are linked to customer records so context carries over between team members.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track response time and conversion, refining automated responses based on what customers actually ask.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can advisers use their personal numbers with clients?
It is common and it causes two problems: the client goes with the adviser who leaves, and there is no record of the advice given. Move clients onto a firm number, and settle the retention question with your compliance officer before anybody objects.
Can we send market updates on WhatsApp?
To clients who agreed to receive them, in wording your compliance officer has approved, and without performance claims or screenshots. Facts about a rule change or a tax deadline are the safest content. Anything reading as a recommendation belongs where the record is kept.
A client messages us in a falling market asking whether to sell everything. What do we reply?
Reply with the prepared holding message: the adviser has seen your note and will call at a stated time. Do not give a recommendation in chat. Move the conversation to a recorded call or meeting, and note the discussion on the client file.
Can a relationship manager add clients to a WhatsApp group for market commentary?
No. A group shows every client's number and invites replies that read as advice in public. Any market commentary should come from the firm's approved channel and wording, to clients who agreed to receive it, and carry the firm's standard disclosures.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
