Boutique hotels · Local SEO

On the map, a small hotel is judged by its photographs, its reviews and its answers.

Local SEO for a boutique hotel is how the property appears on Google Maps and in the stay results for its own neighbourhood. GullySales works on the profile, the photographs, the review flow and the questions guests ask on the listing.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For boutique hotels

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The profile is the front door”

A traveller checking a hotel on Maps sees the photographs, the rating and the buttons before the website. A profile with ten dull images loses the guest the story page could have won.

  • “Locals matter for the restaurant and studio”

Hotels with a restaurant, café or studio attached are searched by residents too. The listing has to say what is open to non-guests, and when.

  • “Reviews are read for the detail”

A guest reads the three most detailed reviews and skips the rest. A review that mentions the courtyard, the breakfast or the host by role carries more weight than a bare star rating.

  • “Questions on the listing get no owner”

Guests post questions about pets, parking and lift access, and a question left unanswered looks like an unattended hotel. The host or a delegate must watch for them.

What we do

What we deliver for boutique hotels.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A listing set up for a stay

Primary type, extra types, attributes, rooms, amenities and a plain description matching the story page.

Result: The listing says what kind of stay you are before a guest opens the site.

  2. A photograph set chosen by guests' questions

Rooms, light, breakfast, the entrance and the street outside, in an order that answers what guests ask first.

Result: A guest sees the room and the road before asking.

  3. A review request given at checkout

A short card or message in the host's voice with the link ready, handed over while the stay is fresh.

Result: New reviews describe the stay, not only the stars.

  4. Replies to every review and question

Written responses to praise and complaint alike, and answers to questions posted on the listing.

Result: The listing shows an owner who reads and replies.

  5. Non-guest hours for the restaurant or studio

Separate hours, a menu link and a booking button for visitors who are not staying.

Result: A resident can see when the restaurant or studio is open to them.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit every listing

We check the Google Business Profile and directory listings for every branch against what should actually be shown.

  2. 2

    Complete and correct

Profiles are filled in fully and inconsistent details are corrected across every directory found.

  3. 3

    Build location pages

Each branch gets a page written for its own area, not a copy of the head office page with the address changed.

  4. 4

    Set up review handling

A simple process for requesting and responding to reviews is put in place with whoever is closest to the customer.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Map actions and enquiries per branch are recorded, and the branches falling behind come first in the next round of work.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need a separate listing for our restaurant?
If the restaurant has its own name, hours and phone, it can have its own listing. Check the platform's current rules on shared addresses and keep the details consistent with the hotel's site.
Can we ask guests for reviews?
Yes, but ask every guest, not only the happy ones, and never pay or reward for a review. Check the platform's current rules on how reviews may be requested.
A guest left an unfair review. What do we do?
Reply calmly and factually, in the host's voice, without arguing. If the review breaks the platform's rules, report it, and expect that removal is the platform's decision.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
