Cruise booking agencies · Search engine optimisation

Make the sailing a family is researching lead them to your agency.

SEO for a cruise agency is writing and structuring pages so a search for a route, a port or a first-cruise question finds you instead of only the cruise lines. GullySales works on the sailing pages, the explainers and the technical basics that let search engines read them.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For cruise booking agencies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Buyers search by place and occasion, not by ship”

People type 'cruise from Mumbai', 'Singapore cruise for family' or 'anniversary cruise'. A site organised by cruise line name does not answer these phrases, and the cruise lines' own sites already do the brand work.

  • “First-timer questions are searched before a quote is asked for”

Is food available for vegetarians, do we need a visa, what happens if the flight is late. A buyer who finds a clear answer on your page has met your agency before ever sending a message.

  • “Sailings change and old pages mislead”

A page for a sailing that has departed, or one with an outdated route, sends a buyer to a dead end. Search engines also see stale pages, so retired sailings need a plan, not silence.

  • “Comparison pages earn the long search”

A buyer weighing two itineraries searches for the difference. A page that sets route, nights, cabin choices and suitable traveller side by side answers that search and keeps the buyer on your site.

What we do

What we deliver for cruise booking agencies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Search phrase map for your sailings

A list of the routes, departure ports and occasions your buyers search, matched to the sailings you sell.

Result: You can see which page is meant to answer which search.

  2. Sailing and route pages

Pages for each route with ports, nights, cabin choices and an enquiry form, written in plain words rather than copied cruise line text.

Result: Each sailing has its own page that a search can land on.

  3. First-time cruiser guide in sections

Separate pages for cabins, meals, embarkation, visas and what is extra, each built around one question.

Result: A search for a single worry lands on a single clear answer.

  4. Itinerary comparison pages

Side-by-side pages for pairs of sailings buyers weigh against each other.

Result: A buyer comparing two routes finds both on one page.

  5. Technical clean-up

Page titles, headings, speed, mobile layout and internal links checked and corrected where they stop a page being read.

Result: The audit list shows each fix and the page it touched.

  6. Retired sailing handling

A rule for what happens to a page after a sailing departs, whether it points to the next departure or the same route.

Result: No buyer lands on a sailing that has left.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can we outrank the cruise lines themselves?
We make no promise on rankings. Your better chance is in route-and-port phrases, first-timer questions and local departure searches, where an agent who explains clearly can be useful to the searcher.
Should we copy the cruise line's description of each ship?
No. Copied text adds nothing for a reader and gives a search engine no reason to prefer your page. Write what a first-time buyer would ask, in your own words, and check facts against the cruise line.
How do we see whether SEO is working?
Look at which pages bring enquiries and which searches reach them, set against the figures recorded at the start. We report these. Rankings alone do not show whether a buyer asked for a quote.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
