Agricultural commodity traders · WhatsApp marketing

Send the right rate and stock message to the right buyer group, from one number.

WhatsApp marketing for a commodity trader means grouped broadcast lists, short stock and rate messages and clean handling of replies. GullySales works on the lists, the message formats and the habit of logging each reply against the buyer.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For agricultural commodity traders

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “One list for all buyers sends the wrong news to buyers who do not want it”

A rice rate sent to a spice buyer is noise, and a buyer who gets noise stops reading. Lists split by commodity mean each message is about something the buyer buys, and the next one is opened.

  • “A stock message needs the same four facts every time”

Buyers look for commodity, grade, quantity available and the rate or how to ask for it. A message written the same way each time becomes a format they scan at once. A photo of the lot with those facts beats a long paragraph.

  • “A reply on WhatsApp is an enquiry only if someone records it”

A buyer answers a broadcast with a word or a photo, and it sits among personal chats. Without a rule on who logs it and where, the enquiry is lost. Rule one: every reply goes on the buyer register the same day.

What we do

What we deliver for agricultural commodity traders.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Commodity-wise broadcast lists

Buyers grouped by commodity and grade, with permission recorded, ready for targeted messages.

Result: A message goes only to buyers of that commodity.

  2. Stock and rate message format

A fixed layout giving commodity, grade, quantity, photograph and how to order.

Result: Each message carries the same facts in the same order.

  3. Business account setup

A WhatsApp Business profile with the firm name, address, commodity catalogue and quick replies.

Result: A buyer who messages sees a clear business profile and ready answers.

  4. Reply handling rule

Who reads, who answers and where each response is recorded.

Result: Every reply has an owner and a line on the register.

  5. Opt-in and opt-out practice

A simple way to add buyers with their consent and remove those who ask to stop.

Result: Your list contains only buyers who agreed to receive it.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Send these messages to the right buyer group.

New lot at the yard
Commodity, grade, quantity and the yard, in four lines, sent only to buyers who have bought that grade.
Sample photo with the grade
A clear picture of the sample in a hand with the grade written on the bag, sent when a buyer asks for proof.
Rate change notice
A short note that the rate has moved and that a quote is available on request, sent to active buyers of that commodity only.
Vehicle left for delivery
Vehicle number, loading time and expected arrival, so the receiving gate and the buyer's accounts are ready.
Opt-out reply
A line in each message telling a buyer how to stop, and a record of who did, so the list stays respectful.

Who it is for

This is written for these agricultural commodity traders.

  • Grain and rice traders supplying millers and wholesalers
  • Pulse and dal traders serving processors and retail chains
  • Spice and dry chilli traders selling to masala makers and exporters
  • Oilseed and edible oil raw material traders for crushing units
  • Fruit and vegetable aggregators selling to markets and organised retail
  • Cotton, jute and fibre traders supplying spinning and processing units
  • Jaggery, sugar and sweetener traders
  • Cashew, areca and plantation crop traders buying from growers' groups

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You hold no consent from the buyers on your list, so a broadcast would reach people who never agreed to receive trade messages.
  • Nobody can answer replies the same day, so a message that invites questions would leave buyers waiting.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we send the same message to every contact?
It is better not to. Group by commodity and buyer type, and add only people who agreed to receive messages. Check the platform's current rules on business messaging before you send in volume.
Should the rate go in the broadcast?
That is a business choice. Some traders send the rate to listed buyers only, and others invite a call. Either works if the message is clear and you honour the rate you send.
Do we need the buyer's consent before messaging?
Yes. Message only people who have dealt with you or asked for updates, and note when they agreed. Consent is a trust matter as well as a rules matter, and a buyer who did not ask for messages will block the number.
How many groups should the buyer list be split into?
Split by commodity and by buyer type, such as mills, exporters and wholesalers, because each wants different news. Start with two or three groups you can keep current, and add another only when a group's messages begin to differ.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
