Building material distributors · Digital marketing

Put the web in service of the site visit, not in place of it.

Digital marketing for a building material distributor is the set of online channels, from search and maps to WhatsApp and paid ads, that bring builders and dealers to your sales team. GullySales works on which channels earn a place and how each hands over to a salesperson.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Building material suppliers: show a real physical business scene illustrating Phone and WhatsApp order entry. Record the order against a contractor and a site, with material, quantity, rate, delivery slot and who at that site may sign for the load.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For building material distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Offline relationships stay the core”

A distributor wins a site through a visit, a rate and a delivery. Digital work supports those moments by making you easy to find and easy to ask, not by replacing the salesperson.

  • “Channels differ by customer”

Dealers can be reached through search and WhatsApp, consultants through email and LinkedIn, and house owners through maps and Instagram. A single plan for everyone spreads effort thinly.

  • “Paid ads need a route to answer them”

An advertisement for a brand that sends a visitor to a page with no rate request is money spent for nothing. Fix the enquiry route before paying for traffic.

  • “Measurement is hard when orders happen by phone”

A buyer who sees your page and then calls will not say so. Ask on every enquiry how the buyer found you, and record the answer.

What we do

What we deliver for building material distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A channel plan for your customer types

A short document stating which channels suit builders, dealers, consultants and house owners.

Result: You know where effort goes and why.

  2. Brand and product pages with enquiry routes

Pages for each authorised brand, each ending in a rate request by form or WhatsApp.

Result: A visitor always has a next step.

  3. A Google Business Profile

A complete, verified profile with delivery area, brands and product groups.

Result: You appear when someone nearby searches.

  4. A small paid search test

Advertising on brand and product searches in your delivery area, with a budget you set.

Result: You see whether paid search produces enquiries.

  5. A source question on every enquiry

A single question asked and recorded by whoever takes the enquiry.

Result: You learn which channels bring orders.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these building material distributors.

  • Residential builders and apartment developers
  • Civil contractors on commercial and industrial sites
  • Independent house owners building with a mistri
  • Retail dealers and hardware shops in the surrounding towns
  • Interior and finishing contractors
  • Architects and structural consultants who specify brands
  • Housing societies and institutions doing repairs
  • Plumbing, electrical and tiling contractors who buy for their jobs

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Nobody can answer a rate request within site hours, so any ad or page would send engineers to a phone that rings unanswered.
  • Your orders come entirely from standing relationships with a few builders, so the channels would add cost with no new buyer.

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Agree the one aim

We settle what the campaign must achieve, such as enquiries for a launch or footfall for an event, and the date it must be live.

  2. 2

    Check what is ready

We list the channels you already run, who runs them, and what each can produce in the time available. Anything that cannot be done properly is left out.

  3. 3

Write the idea and the message sheet

We draft the one-sentence idea, test it against each planned format, and fix the wording that all channels will copy.

  4. 4

Brief every channel from the same sheet

Your agency, freelancer or in-house person receives the message sheet and calendar. Their work is checked against the sheet before it goes out.

  5. 5

    Run on the shared calendar

Channels go live together. If the offer changes, every channel is changed on the same day from the same sheet.

  6. 6

    Measure as one campaign

Enquiries and orders are read against the baseline. The reporting schedule is agreed in writing with the scope.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How much should a distributor spend on digital?
That depends on your margin and your team's ability to answer. We start with unpaid work such as the website and profile, and add paid advertising when the enquiry route can handle it.
Is digital marketing worth it for a trade business?
It is worth it where buyers search for you and can reach you. We look at how your buyers actually find suppliers before recommending any channel.
How do we tell if digital work brings orders when orders happen by phone?
Ask on every call and message where the buyer found you, and record the answer. Give the web pages a dedicated number or message button. Over time the record shows which channel brought rate requests and which of those became orders.
Is paid promotion needed for a trade business?
Not to begin. Fix the map profile, the brand pages and the rate-request route first, since those serve buyers who are already searching. Add paid promotion for a single line or area only when the desk can answer the extra requests.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
