Building material distributors · WhatsApp marketing

Answer the rate request on WhatsApp the way the buyer asked it.

WhatsApp marketing for a building material distributor means using one business number to take rate requests, send price lists, confirm deliveries and keep dealers informed. GullySales works on the number's setup, the saved replies and the record behind each conversation.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Building material suppliers: show a real physical business scene illustrating Phone and WhatsApp order entry. Record the order against a contractor and a site, with material, quantity, rate, delivery slot and who at that site may sign for the load.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For building material distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The rate request already lives on WhatsApp”

Contractors send a photograph of a requirement list and ask for a rate. A distributor who treats this as the main sales channel, and not a side line, wins more of these requests.

  • “A personal number cannot be shared”

When enquiries come to the owner's personal phone, no one else can answer and no record exists. A business number with a shared inbox lets the team reply and the owner see.

  • “Broadcasts to dealers need permission”

A price update sent to everyone, including people who did not ask for it, annoys recipients. Keep to dealers who agreed to receive updates, and check the platform's current rules.

  • “A rate list goes stale on the day it is sent”

Material prices move, and a list sent a week ago may be quoted back to you. State the date on every list and say when it expires.

What we do

What we deliver for building material distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A WhatsApp Business setup

A business number with profile, catalogue of brands and product groups, working hours and an away message.

Result: Buyers see a business, not a person's number.

  2. Saved replies for common requests

Replies for rate requests, delivery timing, credit terms and stock availability, edited by your team.

Result: The first reply to a request goes out in a consistent form.

  3. A request log

A shared sheet or tool recording sender, material, quantity, rate and outcome for each conversation.

Result: A won order can be traced to the message it began with.

  4. Dealer lists with consent

Separate lists for dealers, contractors and masons, each with a record of consent.

Result: Updates go to people who asked for them.

  5. A delivery confirmation message

A short message with vehicle, quantity and expected arrival sent when a load leaves.

Result: The site knows what is coming and when.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Answer the rate request the way it was asked.

Rate request: material, brand, quantity, site
Ask for these four in one message so the quote can be sent without a second call.
Rate reply with the date and validity note
Send the rate with the date it was given and a note that rates move, so a stale figure is not quoted back.
Site location pin
Ask for the map pin of the site, which helps the vehicle reach the right gate.
Delivery slot confirmation
Send the vehicle, the day and the time window, so the site is ready to offload.
Dealer scheme broadcast
A message to opted-in dealers stating a scheme as the brand issued it, with the terms and the end date.

Who it is for

This is written for these building material distributors.

  • Residential builders and apartment developers
  • Civil contractors on commercial and industrial sites
  • Independent house owners building with a mistri
  • Retail dealers and hardware shops in the surrounding towns
  • Interior and finishing contractors
  • Architects and structural consultants who specify brands
  • Housing societies and institutions doing repairs
  • Plumbing, electrical and tiling contractors who buy for their jobs

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The rate requests all go to one salesman's personal number, and no one else can reply, so enquiries would wait when that person is away.
  • Your dealers have not agreed to receive broadcasts, and a scheme message would reach shops that did not ask.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is it allowed to send price lists to many customers?
Sending to people who agreed to receive them is the safe approach. Rules for business messaging change, so check the platform's current rules before any broadcast.
Do we need the paid business API?
Not to begin. The WhatsApp Business app suits a small team. A larger team handling many conversations can look at the API later.
Is it allowed to send rate lists to many customers?
Send to people who have dealt with you or asked for rates, and give them a way to stop. Consent matters as much as the rules. Check the platform's current rules on business messages, and send each group only what suits it.
Should the rate list go out as a picture or a message?
Send a short typed message with the date for each material. A picture of a sheet gets forwarded and quoted long after the rate moved. A typed note with a date and the words rates move keeps your name off a stale figure.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
