Electrical equipment distributors · Lead generation
Find the contractors and project buyers who will order from your counter.
Lead generation for an electrical distributor means finding the contractors, panel builders, consultants and purchase teams who buy the makes you hold, and getting them to send you a BOQ. GullySales works on the sources, the capture of each enquiry and the record that tells you where every BOQ came from.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means
Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For electrical equipment distributors
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“A BOQ is the lead, and it arrives as a photograph”
A contractor who wants a price takes a photo of the list and sends it to three counters. If your number is not saved on that phone, the photo goes elsewhere. Lead generation starts with being the number a contractor has already stored under a trade name they recognise.
“Project leads come from the specifier, not the buyer”
A consultant or MEP designer writes the make into the specification long before a purchase manager asks for a quotation. A distributor who reaches the designer early is invited to quote. One who waits for the tender notice is competing on rate alone.
“Sub-dealers are leads that repeat”
A small electrical shop in a nearby town buys from whichever wholesaler answers. Once a shop owner has a supply note and a rate sheet, the shop becomes a source of repeat orders and not a one-time enquiry.
“An enquiry nobody logs is a lead nobody owns”
Counter staff take calls, WhatsApp messages and walk-ins in the same hour. Without a single place to write the source, the site and the items asked for, you cannot tell which effort brought the order.
What we do
What we deliver for electrical equipment distributors.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
A lead source sheet
Each way a BOQ reaches you is listed: contractor calls, WhatsApp photos, consultant referrals, builder purchase teams, marketplace enquiries and walk-ins.
Result: You can see which source each recent order came from.
A single enquiry form for the counter
A short entry for the firm, the site, the items, the makes asked for and who will quote, filled in while the customer is still on the line.
Result: Every enquiry has a name against it and a note of what was asked.
A contractor introduction list
Contractors in your area who work on sites you can supply, with the makes they use and a named person who will call.
Result: Each contractor on the list has a caller and a date of first contact.
A project watch list
Builders, factories and installations being planned nearby, with the purchase contact and the stage of the build.
Result: You know which projects to approach before the package is released.
A marketplace enquiry routine
Enquiries from trade directories and marketplaces are copied into the same record and answered with the same quotation format.
Result: Marketplace enquiries sit beside direct ones, with their source marked.
How the result is measured
- Enquiries generated
- Cost per enquiry
- Enquiries by source
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
What to capture
Each BOQ or call should be logged with the details that decide the quote.
- Contractor and the site it is for
- Record both names, because one contractor runs several sites and each has its own schedule. The counter then knows which project a quote belongs to.
- Makes the BOQ names or allows
- Note whether the list fixes a brand, offers equivalents or leaves it open. It decides whether you quote your authorised brands or lose the line to a rival's make.
- Consultant or designer behind the project
- Write the specifier's name. The person who approves makes is the lead worth knowing for the next project, even when someone else places the order.
- Delivery date and site address
- Capture the date material is needed and the site's access limits. Long cable drums and heavy panels need planning that a price alone does not show.
- Credit asked or advance offered
- Mark how the contractor intends to pay at the first call. It lets the counter send a quote already shaped by your credit rules instead of a shock later.
Who it is for
This is written for these electrical equipment distributors.
- Cable and wire distributors for building and industry
- Switchgear, MCB and distribution board dealers
- Motor, drive and automation component distributors
- Lighting and LED project suppliers
- Solar inverter, panel and BOS component distributors
- Transformer, UPS and power equipment channel partners
- Panel builders' component suppliers
- Multi-brand electrical wholesalers supplying sub-dealers
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- Nobody at the counter is free to price a photographed BOQ the same day, so more enquiries would only add a pile of unanswered lists.
- You have no rule for who gets credit, so new project leads would force a decision at the counter that nobody is ready to make.
How it works
How the lead generation work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Understand your capacity
We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.
- 2
Audit current sources
We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.
- 3
Strategise the channel mix
Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.
- 4
Implement capture and follow-up
Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.
- 5
Measure and optimise
Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.
Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2 · you are here
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
