Electrical equipment distributors · WhatsApp marketing

Turn the contractor’s photographed BOQ into a priced reply on WhatsApp.

WhatsApp marketing for an electrical distributor covers how BOQ photographs, stock updates and price moves travel between your counter and contractors. GullySales sets up the number, the reply formats and the lists, and tells you to check the platform’s current rules.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For electrical equipment distributors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The BOQ photo is the order form”

Contractors already send photographs of lists. The distributor who replies with a clean, priced message that lists makes and GST wins over one who calls back later.

  • “A personal number is a single point of failure”

When one salesperson’s phone holds all the contractors, a leave, a lost phone or a resignation cuts the business off. A shared business number keeps the conversation with the counter.

  • “Broadcasts annoy if sent to everyone”

A rate change for cables matters to a contractor who buys cables and not to a lighting supplier’s customer. Lists divided by product family make each message relevant.

  • “Consent keeps the number usable”

Contractors should agree to receive messages and be able to stop them. Check the platform’s current rules before sending any bulk message.

What we do

What we deliver for electrical equipment distributors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business number set-up

A WhatsApp Business number with a profile, catalogue and greeting for the counter.

Result: Contractors reach the counter on one saved number.

  2. A BOQ reply format

A message layout carrying items, makes, rate, GST, delivery and validity.

Result: Every BOQ gets a reply in the same readable form.

  3. Contractor lists by product family

Lists of contractors grouped by what they buy, with their consent noted.

Result: A price move goes only to those who buy that item.

  4. Stock and price update messages

Short templates for new stock, a price move and a restock.

Result: Staff send updates from approved wording.

  5. A hand-off rule

How a chat becomes a quotation record and who owns it once an order is placed.

Result: No chat sits outside the record.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

WhatsApp is where a photographed BOQ becomes a priced reply.

BOQ photo received
A saved reply that confirms receipt and asks for the missing details: site, delivery date, makes allowed. It sets the quote up before anyone starts typing.
Priced reply to a BOQ
A fixed layout with item, make, quantity, rate and validity, sent as text and not a photo. It is easier to check and to forward to the contractor's boss.
Stock arrival of a high-demand item
A short message to the contractors who buy that product family, with size and make. Segmenting by family keeps broadcasts relevant.
Dispatch and delivery confirmation
A message with the vehicle details and the expected arrival at site, sent to the contractor and the site supervisor so the gate is ready.
Permission to message about offers
A one-line request recorded with the date. Only contractors who agree receive price or offer lists, and anyone who asks to stop is removed.

Who it is for

This is written for these electrical equipment distributors.

  • Cable and wire distributors for building and industry
  • Switchgear, MCB and distribution board dealers
  • Motor, drive and automation component distributors
  • Lighting and LED project suppliers
  • Solar inverter, panel and BOS component distributors
  • Transformer, UPS and power equipment channel partners
  • Panel builders' component suppliers
  • Multi-brand electrical wholesalers supplying sub-dealers

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Staff use their own phones and nobody keeps a shared record, so a BOQ sent to one person would vanish when they leave.
  • You plan to send price lists to every number in the book, and you have no record of who agreed to receive them.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we send price lists to all contractors at once?
Only to those who agreed to receive them, and subject to the platform’s current rules. We set up lists and consent records so sending stays within them.
Should staff use their own phones?
Use the shared business number for customers so the history stays with the counter. Staff can answer from it without giving out a personal number.
Who should answer when the usual salesperson is away?
Set a named backup and a shared inbox so the BOQ is read the same day. Contractors move to the next counter if a message sits unread. A hand-off rule that names who takes the chat and passes the context saves repeating the whole order.
Can we share the maker's price list on WhatsApp?
Only if your agreement with the maker and the distributor terms allow it, and never as a standing list to all numbers. Circulating a list that has since changed creates disputes. Send an item quote on request, with a date and validity.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
