Freight and transport companies · Digital marketing
Work backwards from the rate contract season, not from a content plan.
Digital marketing for a transporter has two jobs that barely touch: paperwork and follow-up for plants, and lane pages and listings for traders. GullySales builds the plan around the months before rate contracts are renewed, fixes the capability profile first, and reports on lanes and loads.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means
Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For freight and transport companies
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“Most transporters buy a website and stop there”
The site was never the problem. The rate quoted on the phone and never chased is where the account went.
“The financial year sets the whole calendar”
Rate contracts are renewed around April, so the introduction, the profile and the trial load have to happen in the months before it.
“For a plant, the paperwork is the marketing”
A vendor registration answered in two days and a profile in the format they expect do more than any campaign you could run.
What we do
What we deliver for freight and transport companies.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
A plan split between plants and traders
Two programmes with their own work: documents, profiles and outreach for panel business, lane pages and listings for direct trade.
Result: Neither side is served with the other's tools.
The capability profile and vendor kit built first
Lanes, vehicle counts, permits, insurance, claims process and references gathered into one set before anything else is started.
Result: You can answer procurement the week they ask.
A calendar counted back from contract renewals
Outreach, trial-load offers and follow-up scheduled in the months before rate contracts are signed, rather than after they are.
Result: You are on the panel before the rates are fixed.
Lane pages and directory listings for direct trade
Route pages, the Google listing and the transport directories completed together, so a trader searching finds a real company.
Result: Traders stop reaching you through a broker.
A quotation follow-up routine behind everything
The rate register and the follow-up dates put in place before any spend, because enquiries into an unanswered desk are wasted.
Result: New enquiries meet somebody who chases them.
Reporting on lanes and loads
Rate enquiries by source and lane, quotes sent and won, new shippers added and empty return trips, against the baseline recorded when work starts.
Result: The spend is judged on loads moved.
How the result is measured
- Enquiries across channels
- Cost per enquiry overall
- Channel mix by contribution
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
Where to start for a transporter
Build the vendor file a plant asks for, then list your lanes for traders.
- A vendor and capability kit
- Collect the GST certificate, PAN, insurance, fleet list, driver details and claims record into one folder. Send it to a plant's logistics team before they ask, and record who has it.
- A quote and rate tracker
- Log every quote with the lane, the vehicle type, the rate offered and the date. Call back the shipper after a few days, and note the rate that won when you lost.
- Lane pages
- Write one page for each lane you run often, such as the city pair, the vehicle types and the transit pattern. Record the calls and form fills by page.
- Return load list
- List the lanes where your trucks come back empty, and call shippers and brokers who send goods the other way. Record each load found and the vehicle used.
- Directory and Maps listings
- Keep your IndiaMART, truck-booking and Google listings the same on address, fleet and phone. Ask which listing each caller used.
- What to leave until later
- A large brand website and social posts. Rate contracts are decided on the vendor file, so spend the time on the file and the quote follow-up.
Who it is for
This is written for these freight and transport companies.
- Full truck load fleet owners
- Part truck load and groupage operators
- Transport brokers and freight agents
- Container and trailer transport companies
- Temperature-controlled and reefer transport
- Tanker operators for liquids and chemicals
- Heavy haulage and project cargo movers
- Staff bus and employee transport operators
- Freight forwarders handling road, rail and port movements
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- You have no record of which lanes and customers earn the most, so there is nothing to work backwards from.
- Your rate contract season is months away and the fleet is full, so extra enquiries would be turned down.
How it works
How the digital marketing work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Agree the one aim
We settle what the campaign must achieve, such as enquiries for a launch or footfall for an event, and the date it must be live.
- 2
Check what is ready
We list the channels you already run, who runs them, and what each can produce in the time available. Anything that cannot be done properly is left out.
- 3
Write the idea and the message sheet
We draft the one-sentence idea, test it against each planned format, and fix the wording that all channels will copy.
- 4
Brief every channel from the same sheet
Your agency, freelancer or in-house person receives the message sheet and calendar. Their work is checked against the sheet before it goes out.
- 5
Run on the shared calendar
Channels go live together. If the offer changes, every channel is changed on the same day from the same sheet.
- 6
Measure as one campaign
Enquiries and orders are read against the baseline. The reporting schedule is agreed in writing with the scope.
Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2 · you are here
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
