Garment manufacturers · WhatsApp marketing

Buyers send the tech pack on WhatsApp, so the reply has to be set up there.

WhatsApp marketing for a garment unit is the use of a business number to answer enquiries, share the capability profile and carry a sample through to an order with the people who already message you there. GullySales works on the profile, the replies and the permissions around it.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For garment manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The first message is a photograph of a shirt”

A brand founder sends a reference garment or a tech pack photo and asks for a rate. If the reply takes a day or asks the founder to write an email, the founder messages the next unit. A saved first reply that asks for quantity and fabric keeps the conversation open.

  • “A personal number mixes buyers, workers and family”

When the owner's own phone carries buyer chats, floor messages and personal groups, a tech pack is lost under a forwarded greeting. A separate business number, with a catalogue and an away message, keeps the buyer's chat findable.

  • “A catalogue only helps if it states the minimum order”

A list of products with no minimum order quantity brings the fifty-piece enquiry. Stating the product types, the minimum quantity and the fabric options on the catalogue sorts buyers before anyone types a reply.

  • “Broadcasting to every contact costs you the number”

Sending the same offer to a whole contact list leads to blocks and reports. Message people who asked, or who agreed to hear from you, and check the platform's current rules on business messaging before sending anything in bulk.

What we do

What we deliver for garment manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business profile buyers can read

The business name, a short description, address, hours and the product types set up on a WhatsApp Business number.

Result: A new buyer sees a unit, not a stranger's number.

  2. A catalogue of product types with minimum quantities

Entries for knitted, woven, ethnic, kids' or activewear lines with the minimum order quantity and fabric options stated.

Result: Enquiries arrive already matched to what you make.

  3. Saved replies for the first ten minutes

A greeting, a request for quantity and fabric, a message for enquiries below the minimum and a note when the tech pack is received.

Result: Every enquiry gets a clear first answer.

  4. Labels that match your sales stages

Tags for new enquiry, costing sent, sample dispatched and order placed, applied to each chat.

Result: The owner can filter every sample waiting on a reply.

  5. A permission-first routine for broadcasts

A way of recording who agreed to hear from you, and a short list of what is worth sending, such as a new fabric or open production slots.

Result: Broadcasts reach people who want them.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

What to send and save when a buyer writes on WhatsApp.

Photo of the garment asked for
Save the picture with the buyer's name. Reply asking for the tech pack, the quantity and the fabric before quoting anything.
Minimum order line
A saved reply stating the smallest quantity per style and colour. It answers the first question and filters price shoppers.
Sample courier details
Send the courier name and tracking reference as soon as the sample leaves. It spares the buyer from asking where it is.
Permission to message again
Ask the buyer to confirm that they are happy to hear from the unit on WhatsApp, and record it with the date.
Capability PDF cover line
One line to send with the profile: product types made, minimum order and the city or cluster. The buyer reads that before opening the file.

Who it is for

This is written for these garment manufacturers.

  • Knitwear and T-shirt manufacturers
  • Woven shirt and trouser manufacturers
  • Women's ethnic wear manufacturers
  • Kids' wear manufacturers
  • Export-oriented garment units
  • Private label and contract manufacturers for D2C brands
  • Corporate, promotional and uniform garment makers
  • Activewear and athleisure manufacturers
  • Job work and CMT units

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Staff use their own personal phones for buyer chats, and a business set-up would not move the conversations that already exist.
  • You plan to message every number in the phone, which includes workers and family and would lose you the business number.
  • No one can answer during the buyer's working day, and a first message left waiting can be lost to a faster factory.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we use the free WhatsApp Business app or the API?
A unit with one or two merchandisers can start on the Business app. The API through a provider suits a team that needs several users on one number and links to a CRM. Check the provider's current terms and costs before choosing.
Can we send our capability profile as a PDF on WhatsApp?
Yes, and buyers expect it. Send it only after the buyer has written to you, and keep the file light. Date the file name so a merchandiser forwards the current one and not an old version.
Is it fine to add buyers to a group?
Ask first. Adding a brand's team to a group without consent is intrusive, and some buyers will leave. A one-to-one chat per buyer, with the merchandiser as the point of contact, is the safer habit.
What are the constraints of WhatsApp for sending samples and tech packs?
WhatsApp suits first contact and quick questions, but a tech pack is a design record and belongs in email or a shared folder. Files can be forwarded, and chat history is hard to search. Move the file to a controlled place once the enquiry is real.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
