Skill development NGOs · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a family finds when they search for a course near them.

SEO for a skilling NGO is the work of making each course page appear when someone searches for that trade, in their language, near their town. GullySales works on course pages, search wording and the technical basics so the right searcher reaches the right batch.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For skill development NGOs

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “People search for the trade, not the NGO”

A parent types a tailoring course, an electrician course or a computer course with a town name. They do not type the name of a charity. A site that lists only the mission has no page for those words.

  • “A prospectus PDF cannot be read by search”

Course details locked inside a PDF or an image of a poster are invisible to a search engine and slow to open on a basic phone. The fee, the address and the start date belong in ordinary text on the page.

  • “The local language is a search of its own”

A family in a small town may search in Kannada, Hindi, Tamil or Marathi, or in English written in Roman letters. Pages in one language only leave the others to a competing centre.

  • “Funders search too, with different words”

A CSR reader looks for a programme, a trade and a location. A page that names the programme plainly gives that reader something to find and to forward.

What we do

What we deliver for skill development NGOs.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A page for each course with the words searchers use

Course title in plain terms, town name, who it suits and what it covers, in the language your families read.

Result: Each course can be found by its own name and its town.

  2. Text instead of PDF

Fee, duration, eligibility and start date moved from brochures into page text, with the PDF kept only as a download.

Result: The fee and date appear on the page and in search.

  3. A mobile check on a basic phone

Pages tested for load and readability on a modest handset and a weak connection.

Result: A parent on a low-cost phone sees the page open and read clearly.

  4. Pages in each language your families use

Course pages written, not machine-translated, in the languages of the neighbourhood.

Result: A search in the local language reaches a page written for it.

  5. A programme page for funders

One page per programme with trade, location and process, linked from the course page.

Result: A CSR reader can find and share the programme page.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How long before the pages show in search?
We cannot give a date or a ranking. Search engines decide when and where a page appears. What we control is that the page is clear, correct, light to open and written in the words people use.
Do we need a blog?
Not to begin with. Course pages and a clear contact route come first. A blog earns its place only when your team can write answers to questions families actually ask.
Our website is a free template. Is that a problem?
It is not a problem in itself. What matters is that every course has its own page, the text is readable, and the address and phone number match your Google listing.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
