Spiritual centres · Search engine optimisation

Be the page a seeker finds when they search for a teaching, not only a place.

SEO for a spiritual centre is the work of making your pages the answer when someone searches for a satsang, a scripture, a teacher or a practice. GullySales works on page titles, the way talks are described and the structure of the site so search can read what you teach.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For spiritual centres

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Seekers search for the teaching before the building”

Someone wondering about the Bhagavad Gita or a particular bhajan tradition searches for the subject, not your street. A centre with no page about what it teaches never appears for those searches, however close it is.

  • “A recorded talk is invisible until it is described”

An audio file or an unnamed video gives search nothing to read. A title, the verse or theme, the language and a short written summary turn the same talk into a page that can be found.

  • “Spellings of Sanskrit and regional names vary”

Satsang, satsangh and sathsang are all typed. So are the many ways of writing a teacher's name. Pages that use the common spellings, with the proper form shown once, are found by more of the people looking.

  • “A site that only shows a poster gives nothing to rank”

Many centres post a festival poster as an image. Search reads text, so the poster's date, place and programme need to sit on the page as words beside it.

What we do

What we deliver for spiritual centres.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A map of the searches your teaching answers

A list of the subjects, texts and practices the centre teaches, matched to the phrases seekers type and the pages that should answer them.

Result: Each page has a search it is meant to meet.

  2. Titles and descriptions written page by page

A plain title and short description for every page, naming the teaching, the language and the town.

Result: The search result tells the seeker what they will find.

  3. Talk pages with summaries

A page per published discourse carrying its title, theme, language, a short summary and the recording.

Result: A search for a verse can reach the right talk.

  4. Common spellings handled

A note of the spellings seekers use for key words, placed naturally in headings and body text.

Result: A misspelt search still meets the right page.

  5. Event details written as text

Dates, venue and programme for each festival placed in the page body, with the poster as an addition.

Result: Search can read when and where the festival is.

  6. A baseline of search visits

Visits from search to the teaching pages, recorded before the work begins.

Result: You can compare later visits against a known starting point.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Will SEO make our centre rank first?
No one can promise a position. We work on what the site says and how clearly, since those are in your control, and we report what the numbers show.
Do we need English pages if the satsang is in Kannada?
Pages can carry the language of the gathering and English beside it. A seeker who reads English then knows what language the talk is in and whether they can follow.
Should every old talk go online?
Only the ones the teacher and committee are happy to publish. We work from that list and leave the rest alone.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
