Agricultural seed companies · Digital marketing

Plan the season online from the dealer's counter backwards.

Digital marketing for a seed company is the joined-up use of search, video, WhatsApp and a website to support dealers and reach farmers before sowing. GullySales plans each channel around the sowing window, the districts where you have dealers and the languages the farmers speak.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For agricultural seed companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The channel follows the counter”

Online work that points a farmer to a district where nobody stocks your seed wastes the visit. Plan campaigns only in districts where a dealer holds the variety. Check the dealer register before every campaign, and drop any district where stock has not been confirmed.

  • “The farmer is mobile-first, and sometimes only on a basic connection”

Pages that load slowly or videos that need a strong signal are lost. Build for the phone and the weakest signal in the belt. Test every page and video on a cheap phone with a weak signal before the season starts, and fix what fails.

  • “Budget goes to the weeks that matter”

Spend spread evenly across the year misses the buying window. Weight it toward the lead-up to sowing in each district, and hold some back for the second crop. Review the split after the first sowing window, and move spend toward the districts that produced dealer restocking.

  • “Several channels, one record”

Search, video and WhatsApp each produce enquiries. If they land in separate places, nobody knows which one brought the dealer who restocked. Use one source tag on every form, link and message, and give the CRM one place to receive them. Review the tags at season end.

What we do

What we deliver for agricultural seed companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Season digital plan

A plan by crop and district showing which channel runs when, who owns it and what it points to.

Result: A one-page calendar the whole team can read.

  2. Search and website basics

Crop and variety pages, a dealer locator and a form that reaches the right person.

Result: A farmer can find a page and a dealer in the same visit.

  3. Video and ad campaigns by district

Short crop videos run to farmers within reach of your dealers, in the district language.

Result: Ads reach only the districts on the dealer map.

  4. WhatsApp routine for dealers and farmers

Broadcast lists, reply desk and consent capture.

Result: Messages are expected and answered.

  5. Enquiry tracking across channels

Each enquiry tagged with its source and sent to the CRM.

Result: You can compare channels by dealers who restocked.

  6. Post-season review

A review of which channels brought dealers and which brought only visits.

Result: A written plan for what to change before the next window.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Searches your buyers type

The routes from a counter or a phone to an order for seed.

Farmer searches for a crop and soil
A crop page in the district language that names the region and ends at a dealer locator. The farmer buys at the counter, not on the page.
Dealer searches for a new line
A dealer page with terms, districts open and a form. A shopkeeper who found you online should land in the same register as one met in person.
Farmer sees a field clip
A video from a plot in a similar soil with the crop named. The viewer who calls should be sent to the nearest dealer.
Dealer receives a WhatsApp update
A stock and crop message to dealers who agreed. Its aim is a stock request, so it carries one clear reply route.
Agronomist checks your credentials
A page with trial records and the names of those who ran them. An extension officer decides on data and will not be moved by a slogan.

Who it is for

This is written for these agricultural seed companies.

  • Hybrid seed companies for maize, cotton, paddy and vegetables
  • Open-pollinated and certified seed producers
  • Vegetable and horticulture seed companies
  • Oilseed and pulse seed companies
  • Fodder seed and forage crop suppliers
  • Seed companies selling through distributors and village dealers
  • Contract seed production companies working with grower farmers
  • Regional seed companies with a few districts as their home market

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your seed is allotted to existing distributors this season, so new routes would draw demand you cannot supply.
  • You have no record of which route each enquiry used, so you could not tell which channel to keep.
  • You would run ads in districts where you have no dealer, so the farmer who clicks would find no place to buy.

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Agree the one aim

We settle what the campaign must achieve, such as enquiries for a launch or footfall for an event, and the date it must be live.

  2. 2

    Check what is ready

We list the channels you already run, who runs them, and what each can produce in the time available. Anything that cannot be done properly is left out.

  3. 3

Write the idea and the message sheet

We draft the one-sentence idea, test it against each planned format, and fix the wording that all channels will copy.

  4. 4

Brief every channel from the same sheet

Your agency, freelancer or in-house person receives the message sheet and calendar. Their work is checked against the sheet before it goes out.

  5. 5

    Run on the shared calendar

Channels go live together. If the offer changes, every channel is changed on the same day from the same sheet.

  6. 6

    Measure as one campaign

Enquiries and orders are read against the baseline. The reporting schedule is agreed in writing with the scope.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Where should a small seed company begin?
With the dealer record, a few good crop pages and a WhatsApp routine. Those serve the counter, which is where seed is sold. Paid ads come after the dealer map shows where they would land.
Do we need a big budget?
No fixed amount applies. Spend follows the districts you serve and the crops you sell. A smaller plan aimed at the right districts and sowing weeks does more than a wide one spread thin.
How do we measure digital marketing for a product bought at the counter?
Tag every enquiry by source, then see which sources match dealers who stocked and restocked. Counter sales are not visible online, so the dealer register is the measure, not clicks.
Is the sowing season the right time to start digital work?
Start before it. Pages, listings and lists take time to prepare and are useless if they arrive after the window closes. Kharif and rabi windows are fixed by the crop, so GullySales works backwards from the sowing weeks to set the order.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
