AI startups · Lead generation

Find the buyers whose daily work your AI already does well.

Lead generation for an AI startup means reaching the people who own a specific job your product performs, not everyone curious about AI. GullySales works on the use-case pages, outreach lists and enquiry capture that bring those owners to a conversation.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For AI startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Curiosity is not a buyer”

A visitor who wants to see what AI can do will book a demo, watch it and vanish. The enquiry that matters comes from a finance head or operations lead who has a named, repeated task and a budget line to match.

  • “The function owner is not the founder's contact”

Founders reach the people they already know, which means other founders. The person who owns invoice matching or ticket handling sits in a different network, and outreach has to be aimed at that role.

  • “A form that asks for the wrong thing loses the right buyer”

A demo form asking only for name and email gives you no way to sort a student from a distributor. One extra question about the job the buyer wants done lets you reply with the right sample.

What we do

What we deliver for AI startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One enquiry path per use case

Each use case gets its own page and its own enquiry form that asks which files or process the buyer has in mind.

Result: Every enquiry arrives labelled with the job it is about.

  2. A list of function owners

A researched list of roles in the companies that fit your product, built from public professional profiles and directories.

Result: You can see who is being approached and why.

  3. Outreach messages written around the job

Short first messages that name the task, show one sample output and ask for a file to try.

Result: The first message talks about the buyer's work, not your technology.

  4. A qualifying question set

Three or four questions for the first call that separate a real task from general interest.

Result: The team can tell a serious enquiry from a browsing one before preparing a demo.

  5. Source tagging on every enquiry

Each enquiry records whether it came from search, LinkedIn, a community or an introduction.

Result: You can see which route brings buyers who go on to a pilot.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Capture the job your product does before the person behind it.

Job title of the function owner
The head of support, finance operations or compliance who lives with the task. Record it, because the founder's own network rarely reaches this person.
The task they named
Ask for the daily job in their own words, such as reconciling statements or tagging tickets. It shows whether your product fits before any demo.
Which use-case page they arrived on
One path per use case means the source tells you what they came for, and the first reply can open on that job.
Company size and current tool
A short field for how the work is done today. A team still using a spreadsheet needs a different first message from one with a rival tool.
Willingness to share a sample file
A yes or no. A buyer who will share one real file is a pilot candidate; one who will not is still gathering ideas.

Who it is for

This is written for these AI startups.

  • Agent and workflow automation startups for operations teams
  • Document processing and data extraction startups
  • Sales, marketing and customer support AI tool makers
  • Vertical AI startups for clinics, schools, legal or finance firms
  • Vernacular speech and language model startups
  • Computer vision startups for inspection, retail and security
  • AI consulting and implementation boutiques
  • Developer tool and model infrastructure startups

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your product does not yet work on a real customer file end to end, so any enquiry would meet a demo that cannot be run live.
  • The founder is the only person who can reply, and outreach would book calls that crowd out building.
  • You have not picked one use case to lead with, so messages would describe a general platform that no function owner recognises.

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we chase large companies or mid-sized ones first?
Start where the person who owns the job can also sign. In a mid-sized company that is one conversation, while a large company brings procurement and security reviews that need documents prepared first.
Do we need a long list of leads?
No. A short list of well-matched roles, contacted with a specific message, serves a young product better than a broad list that dilutes the message. Volume can follow once one use case is proven.
Where do AI buyers in India look for vendors?
They search for the job itself, ask peers, look at professional networks and attend industry meet-ups. We map which of these your target function actually uses before spending effort.
Should we ask early buyers to pay for a pilot?
Decide it before outreach and state it plainly on the enquiry path. A paid pilot filters out curiosity. Some buyers need a free sample first, so offer one scoped file, and keep the pilot scope in writing either way.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
