Civil contractors · Digital marketing

Spend on the few digital channels that bring walls, drains and tanks, and leave the rest.

Digital marketing for a civil contractor is the plan that joins search, the map listing, social posts and WhatsApp into one route from a stranger to a work order. GullySales chooses the channels your jobs can pay for and traces each enquiry back to its source.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For civil contractors

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The channels are not equal for every contractor”

A wall contractor in a growing town gains most from the map listing and local pages. An estate contractor gains from referrals and a few good photographs. Spreading effort over every platform leaves each one thin.

  • “Counting visits tells you less than counting work orders”

A page with plenty of visitors and no enquiries is a failure that looks like a success. Following each enquiry through quotation to work order shows which channel earns its cost.

  • “The reply is part of the marketing”

An advert or page that brings a call to an unanswered phone has wasted its cost. Before any spend, settle who answers, in what time you aim to reply and what the first message says.

  • “Digital supports the engineer's recommendation, not replaces it”

Owners still ask an engineer or neighbour for a name. They then check that name online. A tidy listing and a few finished sites turn a verbal recommendation into a call.

What we do

What we deliver for civil contractors.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A channel plan sized to the jobs

A short document choosing the channels worth using for your works and your towns, and naming those to skip.

Result: The plan lists the channels in use and the reason each was chosen.

  2. An enquiry source tracker

A sheet and a simple method to trace every enquiry to its source and onward to a work order.

Result: Each work order can be traced to the channel that produced it.

  3. A basic set-up audit

A check of your website, listing, social pages and contact details for errors and mismatches.

Result: One page lists the errors found and who fixes each.

  4. A small test budget for one job type

If paid advertising is worth testing, a limited trial on one work type in one town with a stated stop point.

Result: The trial has a limit, a stop point and a record of the outcome.

  5. A review of results with your team

A sitting to read the tracker together and decide what to continue, change or drop.

Result: Each channel ends the sitting marked continue, change or stop.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand the objective

We agree the one thing this campaign needs to achieve before choosing any channel.

  2. 2

    Audit available channels

We assess which channels are realistic to run well within the budget and timeline.

  3. 3

    Strategise the central idea

One message and offer is developed that will work across every planned channel.

  4. 4

    Implement across channels

Each channel receives its own adapted version, launched on a shared timeline.

  5. 5

    Measure as one campaign

Results from every channel are combined into a single report against the original objective.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How much should a contractor spend on digital marketing?
Only as much as a work order can repay with margin to spare. Start with low-cost basics, a listing, pages and a WhatsApp reply, and add spend when the tracker shows what pays.
Will digital marketing help with government tenders?
Not directly, because tenders follow registration and notices. It helps with private, institutional and estate work. For tenders we help you track notices and keep your papers ready.
Do we need an agency for all of this?
You need someone to build it and someone in the office to keep it current. We build the pieces and train your clerk, so the running does not depend on us.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
