Supermarkets · Local SEO

Win the map result for the families who can carry the bags home.

Local SEO for a supermarket is the work of appearing in the map results for the households within walking or short driving distance. GullySales works on the store listing, the area it serves and the reviews and photographs that decide the tap.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For supermarkets

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The map result is read before the weekly shop”

On a Sunday morning the family opens Maps, sees three stores and picks one for hours, parking and rating. A store showing as closed at the wrong time loses that visit, whatever its shelves hold.

  • “Each branch needs its own listing”

A chain of three or four stores shares a name but not a street. Branches that share one profile or overlap their areas compete against each other, so each store needs its own verified listing, photographs and timings.

  • “Photographs answer the questions about the shop floor”

A buyer wants to see the fresh section, the billing counters and the parking before driving over. A photograph of a shutter from last year answers nothing, while current shelves and a clear entrance do.

  • “Reviews decide between stores of equal distance”

When two supermarkets stand the same distance away, the buyer reads the recent reviews on queues, freshness and wrong bills. Replies in the store's own words show a manager is reading, which families notice.

What we do

What we deliver for supermarkets.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A verified listing for every store

Each branch claimed and verified, with its own address, timings, parking note and phone line.

Result: Each store shows its own details on the map.

  2. Timings for Sundays and festival days

Regular hours, Sunday hours and special hours for festivals entered on the listing and kept current.

Result: The Sunday evening search finds an open store.

  3. A photograph set of the shop floor

Current photographs of the entrance, parking, fresh section, billing counters and delivery desk.

Result: A buyer can see the store before leaving home.

  4. A review ask at the counter

A card or a phone link handed over at billing, with a short script for the cashier that does not slow the queue.

Result: Recent reviews come from families who just shopped.

  5. Replies to queue and billing complaints

A written, calm reply to each review that mentions a long queue, a stale item or a wrong bill, with the fix named.

Result: A reader sees the complaint answered in public.

  6. Direction and call counts read off the listing

The listing's own counts of direction requests, calls and website taps, recorded before the work starts.

Result: You can see whether the listing sent people to the store.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these supermarkets.

  • Single-store supermarkets of one floor in a residential locality
  • Two-floor supermarkets with a dedicated household and general merchandise section
  • Supermarkets inside apartment complexes and gated townships
  • Small chains of three to ten stores in one city
  • Supermarkets attached to a wholesale or cash-and-carry outlet
  • Family-run supermarkets in smaller towns that serve the surrounding villages
  • Cooperative and society-run supermarkets
  • Supermarkets that serve a hospital, college or industrial campus

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the local SEO work runs

  1. 1

    Audit every listing

We check the Google Business Profile and directory listings for every branch against what should actually be shown.

  2. 2

    Complete and correct

Profiles are filled in fully and inconsistent details are corrected across every directory found.

  3. 3

    Build location pages

Each branch gets a page written for its own area, not a copy of the head office page with the address changed.

  4. 4

    Set up review handling

A simple process for requesting and responding to reviews is put in place with whoever is closest to the customer.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Map actions and enquiries per branch are reported, and branches falling behind are prioritised the next month.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Why does a smaller store outrank us on the map?
Distance from the searcher matters most, then the match with the search, the hours and the reviews. A smaller store nearer the buyer, with correct timings, shows above a larger one that is farther away.
Should every branch carry the same photographs?
No. Each branch should show its own entrance, shelves and parking. Shared photographs make the listings look like copies, and they do not help a buyer who needs to find the right door.
Can we reply to a review about a wrong bill?
Yes, and you should. Say plainly what you will check, ask the family to speak to the manager, and do not argue the figures in public. The reader judges how the store behaves when it is wrong.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
