Corporate gifting and gift businesses · Digital marketing

Fill the eight months between one Diwali and the next.

Digital marketing for a gifting business puts you in front of HR teams before their occasion, and in front of shoppers before Rakhi and Diwali. GullySales sets what each channel is for, in which month the spend happens, and what each one has to produce.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For corporate gifting and gift businesses

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Two different buyers, one warehouse”

An HR manager reading LinkedIn at a desk and a shopper on Instagram before Rakhi have nothing in common except your stock.

  • “The calendar is the strategy”

Diwali from July, onboarding kits all year, dealer meets around conference season, New Year in November, Rakhi and Valentine's Day for the shop.

  • “Onboarding kits are the steady half”

A company hiring in batches orders welcome kits every few months without waiting for a festival. That is the revenue that stops December deciding your year.

  • “Your photographs are the catalogue”

Buyers cannot touch a product online, so the packaging shot, the branding close-up and the unboxing film are what the decision is made on.

What we do

What we deliver for corporate gifting and gift businesses.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A channel plan for the corporate and retail sides

What search, LinkedIn, Instagram, IndiaMART and email are each meant to bring for each buyer, and which of them to stop paying for.

Result: Two audiences stop being served the same post.

  2. A gifting calendar covering the whole year

Occasion by occasion, when the searching starts, when outreach goes out and when the spend rises, from July through to the retail festivals.

Result: Work begins before the brief is written.

  3. A photography and video standard

Packaging, branding close-ups, hamper contents and an unboxing film shot to one standard for every range you actually hold.

Result: The same images work on the site, the proposal and the marketplace.

  4. Pages and proposals that match

Every occasion page on the site backed by a proposal format, so what a buyer reads online is what arrives in the inbox.

Result: The follow-up does not contradict the advert.

  5. A steady push for kits and events

Year-round outreach for onboarding kits, dealer meets and conferences, kept running while the festival campaigns are switched off.

Result: Quiet months carry orders of their own.

  6. One view across every channel

Briefs, samples and orders by channel and by occasion, read against the figures recorded before work starts.

Result: Next year's budget is argued from evidence.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where a gifting business starts

A gifting business starts with a few proposals sorted by budget per head, not with the full catalogue.

Proposals by budget per head
Build a few ready proposals for common brackets with images, packing and branding options. Note which HR contacts ask for more.
Sample routine
Send a sample box to HR teams before the festival season and note who received it, who replied and who ordered.
Photography and video
Photograph finished hampers well and use the same set on the catalogue, the proposals and the site.
Vendor registration
Prepare the documents most companies ask for in one folder, such as GST, PAN, bank details and company profile.
Gift shop counter listing
Correct the Business Profile with the festival range and an order number, for walk-in buyers.
What to leave until later
Leave paid ads and a second website until proposals and samples are working. A catalogue of every product confuses a buyer.

Who it is for

This is written for these corporate gifting and gift businesses.

  • Corporate gifting companies and B2B gift suppliers
  • Promotional merchandise and branded product makers
  • Employee welcome kit and swag providers
  • Festive hamper and dry fruit gift makers
  • Gift shops and gift stores
  • Personalised and custom gift makers
  • Handicraft and artisan gift suppliers
  • Online gifting businesses and gift delivery services

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have not decided whether the corporate or the retail side leads, so channels would be split with no clear target
  • You hold no photographs of finished hampers and kits, so every channel would show stock images
  • You have no one to answer enquiries from more than one channel, and a wider net would only add unanswered ones

How it works

How the digital marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Agree the one aim

We settle what the campaign must achieve, such as enquiries for a launch or footfall for an event, and the date it must be live.

  2. 2

    Check what is ready

We list the channels you already run, who runs them, and what each can produce in the time available. Anything that cannot be done properly is left out.

  3. 3

Write the idea and the message sheet

We draft the one-sentence idea, test it against each planned format, and fix the wording that all channels will copy.

  4. 4

Brief every channel from the same sheet

Your agency, freelancer or in-house person receives the message sheet and calendar. Their work is checked against the sheet before it goes out.

  5. 5

    Run on the shared calendar

Channels go live together. If the offer changes, every channel is changed on the same day from the same sheet.

  6. 6

    Measure as one campaign

Enquiries and orders are read against the baseline. The reporting schedule is agreed in writing with the scope.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

We do both corporate and retail. Should there be two websites?
One site with two clear routes is enough for most. The corporate pages need budgets, lead times and GST details. The retail pages need prices and delivery. Mixed on one page, they confuse both buyers.
Is LinkedIn worth the effort for gifting?
For corporate work, yes, because the HR and admin people who buy are there under their own names. Post the work you have done and use it for outreach. For the shop side it does very little.
How early should we approach HR for the festival season?
Earlier than feels natural, because budgets and approvals are fixed before the rush. Look at when your own past orders were placed and approach before that point. Record the date of each first contact so you can adjust next year.
How do we tell a serious brief from a price check?
Ask three things in the first reply: the number of gifts, the budget per head and the delivery date. A serious buyer answers. Log the answers, and send proposals first to the ones who reply fully.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
