Spas · Public relations

Get written up as the spa to try before the next one opens nearby.

PR services for a spa mean getting featured by local lifestyle publications, wellness bloggers and hotel concierge lists for a distinctive treatment or a milestone opening. This builds credibility a paid advert cannot buy. GullySales pitches your actual treatments and therapists to the outlets your future customers already read.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What public relations means

Public relations is getting your business covered by journalists, trade publications or local news, which carries more trust than an advert because a third party is saying it. GullySales pitches your story to the right publications and prepares your team for interviews when coverage is offered.

For spas

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A distinctive treatment is the story, not the spa itself”

A rare offering, such as a specific ayurvedic protocol or an unusual couple's suite, gives a local publication a reason to write about you. A generic pitch about relaxation gives them nothing.

  • “Hotel and concierge relationships bring steady referrals”

A spa recommended on a nearby hotel's concierge list receives a steady trickle of tourist and business-traveller bookings that no single advert could replicate.

  • “A milestone earns a mention”

A new branch opening, a senior therapist joining from a known institute, or an anniversary gives a local outlet a genuine reason to feature the spa.

What we do

What we deliver for spas.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Story angle built around one distinctive treatment

A pitch angle, such as a rare ayurvedic protocol or an unusual couple's suite, written for a local publication or blogger.

Result: A publication has a specific reason to write about your spa.

  2. Hotel and concierge outreach list

A list of nearby hotel concierge desks approached for a standing recommendation to their guests.

Result: Tourist and business-traveller bookings arrive through a trusted referral.

  3. Milestone pitch for a new branch or therapist

A written pitch sent to local outlets when a branch opens or a senior therapist joins from a known institute.

Result: A genuine milestone gets a mention instead of going unnoticed.

  4. Wellness blogger outreach list

A list of local wellness bloggers and lifestyle pages relevant to your treatments and location.

Result: Coverage reaches readers who are already interested in a spa visit.

  5. Coverage tracker and reuse plan

A record of every feature earned, with a plan for reusing it on your website and social posts.

Result: Earned coverage keeps working after the article itself is old news.

How the result is measured

  • Coverage secured
  • Publication reach
  • Enquiries after coverage

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What is worth telling the press

What a lifestyle writer or hotel concierge can take from a spa.

One treatment with a real origin
Pick a single treatment such as a Kerala Abhyanga or a Thai massage by a trained therapist. Name the therapist and where they trained.
A visit to hotel front desks
Take the treatment menu and a sample to nearby hotels' front desk and concierge teams. Ask how they list outside spas and what they need from you.
A writer's complimentary visit
If you invite a lifestyle writer or blogger, tell them the treatment is complimentary so they can disclose it under the platform's rules. Never script their opinion.
A seasonal programme
Pitch a monsoon Ayurveda programme or a pre-wedding ritual before the season starts. Describe the treatment, not health outcomes.
Therapist credentials on file
Keep each therapist's training certificates in a folder and show them if a writer asks. For Ayurvedic treatments, check local licensing rules on how you describe them.
Photographs with no clients
Photograph the treatment room and products with no clients visible. A client's face cannot be printed without consent.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the public relations work runs

  1. 1

    Understand what is newsworthy

We identify genuine stories in your business, since manufactured news rarely earns real coverage.

  2. 2

    Audit relevant press

We research which journalists and publications actually cover your industry or locality.

  3. 3

    Prepare the pitch

A release or pitch is written specifically for the target publication, not sent as a mass broadcast.

  4. 4

    Approach and follow up

Journalists are approached directly, with a reasonable follow-up rather than a single unanswered email.

  5. 5

    Measure and prepare ahead

Coverage is tracked, and a communications plan is kept ready for any significant matter that may need a public response.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Is PR realistic for an independent spa?
Yes, at a local level. Neighbourhood lifestyle pages, wellness bloggers and hotel concierge lists are far more reachable than national press and reach exactly the customers who matter.
How is this different from paid advertising?
PR is earned coverage based on a genuine story, which a customer comparing spas online trusts more readily than an advertisement they know is paid for.
A lifestyle website offers a feature for a fee. How can we tell it is paid?
Ask whether an editor chose the story or the page is for sale. If you receive a price list or a package, it is advertising. Look for a sponsored or advertorial label, and compare the reach with what the same budget could do elsewhere.
Who should talk to a journalist, the owner or the head therapist?
The owner for business questions and the head therapist for treatment questions. Agree beforehand what each will say about ingredients and claims, because a therapist who describes a treatment as curing something creates a problem for the spa.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
