Salons and beauty studios · WhatsApp marketing

Make the salon's number the easiest way to book a chair.

WhatsApp marketing for a salon is using a business number to take bookings, answer price questions and remind regulars, with the customer's consent. GullySales works on the profile, the saved replies and the reminders, using the WhatsApp Business app or its API.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For salons and beauty studios

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The customer already has your number”

A regular saved the salon's number to book once and will message it again. The number that answers well becomes the default way to book. The one that replies late sends the customer back to searching on a phone.

  • “Price questions arrive at the worst times”

A message asking the cost of a haircut and colour lands while every stylist has a customer in the chair. Without a saved reply and a price list, the answer waits, and the customer asks the next salon instead.

  • “One shared phone becomes one person's problem”

When the salon number sits on the owner's phone, bookings stop when the owner is busy or away. The number needs a shared inbox, or at least a rule about who answers and when, so a message is never left unread overnight.

  • “Broadcasts to everyone annoy regulars”

A message about a bridal offer sent to men's grooming customers, or a festival promotion sent every day, gets the number muted or blocked. Lists split by service and kept to customers who agreed are read; one big list is ignored.

What we do

What we deliver for salons and beauty studios.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A business profile that answers before the chat

Catalogue of services, hours, address, a map link and a short description in the WhatsApp Business profile.

Result: A customer sees what you offer without asking.

  2. Saved replies for the common questions

Written answers for price, availability, patch test, bridal enquiry and directions, in your salon's voice.

Result: Each common question gets a prompt, correct reply.

  3. Labels for bookings, bridal and lapsed customers

Chats tagged by stage so the desk can see who is waiting for a price, a trial slot or a reminder.

Result: No chat is lost in the scroll.

  4. Appointment reminders with consent

A reminder sent before each booking and a rebooking message after a service, only to customers who agreed to messages.

Result: Fewer empty chairs from forgotten appointments.

  5. Click-to-chat links on Maps, Instagram and the site

A link that opens a chat with the booking message ready, placed where customers find you.

Result: Every channel leads to one place where bookings are taken.

  6. A rule for who answers, and when

A written arrangement of who covers the number through the day and how out-of-hours messages get an automatic reply.

Result: A message always meets a person or a clear reply.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these salons and beauty studios.

  • Neighbourhood unisex salons
  • Ladies beauty parlours and threading studios
  • Premium hair studios and colour specialists
  • Bridal makeup artists and bridal studios
  • Freelance and home-visit makeup artists
  • Nail, lash and brow studios
  • Men's grooming lounges and barbershops
  • Franchise outlets of salon chains
  • Skin care and cosmetics brands selling online and through salons

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The salon's number is a stylist's own phone, and customers would be lost when the stylist leaves.
  • You plan to add customers to a broadcast list without asking.
  • Nobody can reply during the busiest hours, so the chat would pile up.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we use the WhatsApp Business app or the API?
A small salon with one number and a few chats a day does well with the Business app. The API suits a chain with several outlets, a shared team inbox and automated reminders. Check the platform's current rules and fees before choosing.
Can we add customers to a broadcast list?
Add only those who have agreed to receive messages from you, and record when they agreed. A customer who asks to stop must be removed at once. Check the platform's current rules, since they change.
Is it fine to send before-and-after photographs on chat?
Only with the customer's consent for that use. Sending the customer their own photographs is different from sharing another customer's. Keep clients' faces out of anything sent to a list, and ask before you post any picture elsewhere.
Is sending an old customer a festival offer acceptable?
Only if they agreed to receive offers, and the platform's current rules allow it. A message to someone who has not agreed can lead to a block or a report. Ask at the counter, record the answer, and keep the offer short.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
