Kannada TV advertising · Marketing
One Kannada spot buys the whole state, so your dealers had better be in it.
Our television advertising page explains how spots, bands and telecast logs work on any channel. This page is about one market, because a Kannada buy is a Karnataka buy and that is a decision about distribution before it is a decision about media.
In one paragraph
Kannada TV advertising buys ten-second spots, scrolls or programme sponsorships on Kannada entertainment, news, movie and devotional channels. The buy covers Karnataka, not a city. GullySales plans the channel, band and spot count for what you can actually serve, gets the film made in Kannada, and checks the telecast log against the order.
The evening serial band on a Kannada entertainment channel is watched in Mysuru, Belagavi, Kalaburagi and Mangaluru as much as in Bengaluru. If a viewer in Hubballi cannot buy from you, you have paid for her anyway.
The film matters as much as the buy. A Hindi commercial dubbed into Kannada is recognised in the first two seconds. So is a brand name mispronounced by a voice artist who does not speak the language.
The problem
Does this sound like your business?
What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.
“We bought prime band and could only afford four spots”
The serial band costs the most and a handful of appearances in it are wasted. The same budget across a cheaper band, repeated through the week, is remembered.
“The commercial was our Hindi film with a Kannada voice on top”
Lip movement, the on-screen text and the rhythm of the writing all give it away. A viewer reads it as a brand that does not consider her market worth shooting for.
“Nobody checked whether our spots actually ran”
Spots get shifted out of the band you paid for, or dropped when a live event overruns. Without the telecast log read against the release order, you never find out.
“The phones rang from towns we do not serve”
A state-wide medium produces state-wide enquiries. Having no dealer in Davanagere turns a good response into a week of apologies.
What we do
Everything that is included.
Each deliverable, and what it gets you. Nothing here is an extra.
Channel and genre plan
Kannada entertainment for the household purchase, news for the older male buyer in the evening, movies at the weekend, devotional early in the morning. Each carries a different rate and a different buyer.
Band and spot count set together
We decide the number of appearances first and then find the band that affords them. A lesser band seen often beats prime seen rarely for almost every local advertiser.
Scrolls and sponsorship options
The band at the bottom of the screen, a ticker and a programme association are sold separately and cost far less than spots. For a dealer launch or a town-level offer, they are often the sensible buy.
The film made in Kannada
Written in Kannada, voiced by a Kannada speaker, with the on-screen text in the Kannada script and your brand name pronounced the way you want it said.
Clearance before telecast
A commercial has to be cleared before a broadcaster will run it, and an uncleared film loses the dates you booked. That process is started while the edit is still being finished.
Booking coordination
The buy is coordinated with the broadcaster's regional office or their appointed agency, with the package, the bands and the spot count written into the release order.
Telecast reconciliation
The log is read spot by spot against the order. Anything moved out of band or not telecast is claimed back as spots or as credit.
Ground readiness before the burst
A separate number for the campaign, the district dealer list checked, and whoever answers the phone briefed in Kannada. A burst that lands on an unready counter is the most expensive mistake on this page.
How the result is measured
- Spots telecast against spots booked, by band
- Rate per ten seconds against the first quote
- Calls to the campaign number during the burst
- Searches for your brand name, week by week
- Counter and dealer enquiries by district
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, then reported every month against it.
Who it is for
This is written for you if these sound familiar.
- Jewellers, furniture and electronics chains with showrooms across more than one Karnataka city
- Manufacturers and food brands sold through dealers and kirana stores across the state
- Hospitals and specialist centres in Bengaluru that genuinely draw patients from district towns
- Builders selling plots or projects to buyers in Mysuru, Hubballi and Mangaluru as well as Bengaluru
- Businesses that already advertise in Kannada print and want the same buyer on television
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- A single clinic, salon or showroom serving one locality, where a state-wide spot wastes most of the money and a local buy costs a fraction of it
- Businesses with no stock, no dealer and no way to serve a caller from a district town, because the enquiry will come and be lost
- An owner who can afford six spots in one week, since television works on repetition and six spots are forgotten by Monday

How the kannada TV advertising work runs
- 1
Map what you can serve
Districts, dealers, delivery and service reach are listed before any channel is discussed. If that map is one city, we say so and point you at cheaper media.
- 2
Choose the genre and the band
The buyer decides the genre and the budget decides the band. We size the burst so the same viewer sees it several times in a fortnight.
- 3
Make the film
Script, voice, music and supers produced in Kannada, in the durations you will actually buy, and sent for clearance.
- 4
Negotiate and book
Packages are compared on cost per ten seconds in the band you want, not on the headline discount, then booked through the broadcaster or their agency.
- 5
Run and reconcile
Logs are collected through the burst and checked against the order while there is still schedule left to correct.
- 6
Read the response
Calls to the campaign number, searches for your brand name and counter enquiries by town, before, during and after the burst, in the monthly report.
Proof
What happened when owners fixed this.
Real clients, the work we did, and the result as it was recorded. Where no number was recorded, none is claimed.

Why us
Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.
Marketing and sales, as one job
Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.
The person on the first call does the work
No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.
A baseline before anything starts
Your numbers are written down on day one, so every monthly report compares against something honest.
The fee in writing, split three ways
Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.
No lock-in, no guarantees we cannot keep
Three to six months at a time. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
One office, and we say so
Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

Read before you buy
- Kannada advertising creativeKannada advertising is not the English ad translated. The script needs more room, the written register sounds stiff read aloud, and half the words your buyer actually uses are English.
- How to make a TV commercialA television film is watched in a room, half-heard, inside a long break of other films. The brand has to survive a muted set, a mandatory disclaimer and a dub into the language of the feed you bought.
