Hotel Felicity Inn: online bookings up 35%.

A hotel was being found only by people who already knew its name.

Hotel Felicity Inn's website did not suit how a traveller books on a phone, and weak organic visibility meant only people who already knew the hotel found it. Over six months, GullySales rebuilt the site around booking, did the search work for destination searches, and built the content, email, social and review channels it now owns.

The problem they brought us

Where things stood.

A traveller compares three hotels on a phone and books one. The website was not built for that. Menus, loading speed and the reservation step all got in the way.

Organic visibility was weak, so the hotel was found mainly by people who already knew its name. There were no owned channels either, so a guest who stayed once could not be reached again.

What we did about it

The work, in the order it happened.

  1. 1

    The site rebuilt around booking

Market research first, then a rebuild with menus a guest can follow, fast loading on mobile, and the reservation system built into the page.

  2. 2

    Photography and one look

High-quality property photography and consistent branding, so the rooms a guest sees online are the rooms they arrive to.

  3. 3

    Search work for destination searches

Keyword research on long-tail destination searches, then title tags, meta descriptions, headers, alt text, internal links, an XML sitemap, robots.txt and an SSL certificate.

  4. 4

    Content a traveller reads

Blog posts on travel tips, local attractions and hotel news, plus guest stories, testimonials, videos and a virtual tour.

  5. 5

Email and social on a schedule

Opt-in forms offering a discount, segmented newsletters, and regular posting on Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn.

  6. 6

    Google Business and reviews

The Google Business Profile optimised and a review process run on Google and TripAdvisor.

  7. 7

    Reporting against the baseline

Reporting from Google Analytics and heatmaps, on bookings and enquiries rather than on activity.

How we work

Tell us what you need, and we start from there.

You fill in the requirements brief. We read it, then talk to you about how enquiries arrive, how fast they are answered, and where orders are lost between the two. After that we send the scope, the fee and the term in writing.

We do not publish a price. We scope the work after that first conversation and put the fee in writing before anything begins, split three ways: our time, your media spend, and production. The term and the reporting are agreed in writing at the same time. No default twelve-month lock, no ranking guarantees.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
