GullySales

Your business gets named correctly when a buyer asks an AI assistant who to call.

Buyers now ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot for a shortlist before they open a search results page. Gully Sales makes your business a clear, credible source those answers can describe accurately and cite.

  • One consistent description of your business that every AI system reads the same way.
  • Pages that answer the questions buyers ask assistants, in a form assistants can quote.
  • A monthly record of where you are cited, misdescribed or missing, and what changed.

Gully Sales Private Limited builds search, content and revenue systems for small and medium businesses across India.

In one paragraph

What is Generative Engine Optimisation and AI Search?

AI search, answer engine and generative engine optimisation makes your business easy for AI assistants to understand, trust and cite when a buyer asks for a recommendation. Gully Sales does this for Indian SMBs by clarifying your business entity, writing answer-ready pages, strengthening source credibility, adding structured data and monitoring where you appear in AI answers, so enquiries can arrive from AI answers as well as search results.

The problem

Buyers are asking assistants for a shortlist, and you do not know whether you are on it.

A purchasing manager in Pune types a question into ChatGPT. A patient in Mysuru asks Gemini which clinic to visit. A distributor asks Perplexity for suppliers in your category. Each gets a short answer with three or four names in it, and most never look further. This is a new step in the buyer journey that sits before the website visit you have been measuring, and it is happening whether or not anyone in your business is watching it.

You will recognise it as

  • You asked an AI assistant about your own category and did not appear, or appeared with an old address, a dropped product or the wrong description.
  • Your website explains what you sell, but nowhere states plainly who you are, where you operate, whom you serve and what you are known for.
  • Your business is described differently on your website, Google Business Profile, directories, LinkedIn and marketplaces, and nobody owns the fixing.
  • Search reports show fewer clicks for informational queries even though the rankings have not moved.
  • Your SEO agency reports rankings but has no answer when you ask how you appear in AI Overviews or Perplexity.
  • Enquiries increasingly arrive already knowing something about you from an AI tool, and you cannot trace what was said.

What it costs the business

  • A buyer who asks an assistant for three suppliers and does not hear your name never reaches the stage where your website, ads or sales team could have won them.
  • When an assistant describes you wrongly, you lose the enquiry to a mismatch you never saw, or you receive calls from buyers you cannot serve.
  • The competitor who is cited becomes the default reference in the buyer's mind before any comparison begins.
  • Ranking reports keep looking healthy while the share of buyers who click through to any website keeps shrinking.

Why it persists. Nobody owns it. The SEO agency is judged on rankings, the developer on uptime, the marketing executive on posts. AI systems build their picture of your business from many sources at once — your site, your Google profile, directories, review sites and industry listings — most last updated years ago by people who have since left. Content written to rank for a keyword rarely reads as a direct answer, so the assistant paraphrases a competitor who wrote one.

If it stays unresolved. The assistants keep learning from whatever is out there. Every month of inconsistent or absent information is a month in which their picture of your business is set by directories, competitors and chance. Correcting an established wrong description takes longer than establishing a right one, and the buyers who used AI answers this year are not coming back to the ten blue links.

What changes

You get a business assistants can describe accurately, and citations may follow.

In the first weeks

  • A baseline report showing how the major assistants currently describe, cite or ignore your business for your priority questions.
  • One agreed entity fact sheet: name, locations, offerings, audiences, credentials and distinguishing facts, worded once.
  • Corrected descriptions on your website and the external sources assistants draw from most.
  • Structured data live on your key pages so machines read the same facts your customers read.

In how the work runs

  • A single owner and a single source of truth for business facts, so a new branch or product is updated everywhere within one cycle.
  • Content briefs that start with the buyer's question and the answer, so every new page is quotable from the day it is published.
  • A monthly monitoring rhythm that catches misdescriptions and missing citations before a buyer does.

In sales and marketing

  • Enquiries that mention an AI tool can be tagged and counted in your CRM, so the channel becomes visible in your pipeline.
  • Fewer mismatched enquiries, because assistants stop sending you buyers for things you do not sell.
  • Sales conversations that begin with the buyer already holding an accurate picture of what you do.

In what management can see

  • Presence in AI answers for the priority questions where your business is a legitimate recommendation.
  • A consistent description of your business across ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews.
  • Citations that point to your own pages rather than to a directory's summary of you.

Over the longer term

  • Authority that compounds: each accurate citation and credible mention makes the next one more likely.
  • Readiness for whichever assistant your buyers use next, because the work is on your sources, not on any one tool.

Gully Sales controls the audit, the fact sheet, the page rewrites, the structured data, the source corrections and the monitoring. Whether an assistant cites you is decided by systems we do not control, and we say so. We report what we changed and what the assistants said before and after.

Who it is for

This is for you if buyers research before they call and you want to be in that research.

The businesses it suits

  • B2B manufacturers, distributors and industrial suppliers whose buyers shortlist vendors online before sending an RFQ.
  • Hospitals, clinics and specialist practices where patients ask assistants which doctor or centre to approach.
  • Professional and technical service firms selling on expertise, where a wrong description costs a consultation.
  • Businesses with several locations, brands or product lines whose facts have drifted across the internet.
  • Owners already investing in SEO or content who want that work to count in AI answers too.
  • Businesses entering a new region or category where assistants have no picture of them yet.

What usually prompts the call

  • You tested an assistant, saw a competitor recommended in your own city and category, and want to know why.
  • A new website, rebrand, merger or branch launch has changed facts that now live in a dozen places.
  • Organic clicks are falling for questions you still rank for, and the reason is the answer box above the results.
  • Your SEO retainer is up for renewal and you want AI visibility written into the next scope.
  • A prospect quoted something an assistant said about you, and it was wrong.

What Gully Sales does

The work, component by component.

Entity clarity

We establish exactly what your business is, in words machines and people read the same way: legal and trading names, locations served, categories, offerings, audiences, founders, credentials and the few facts that distinguish you. This becomes the entity fact sheet, and it is written into your About page, footer, profiles and listings so every source agrees.

Why it matters:
An assistant that cannot resolve who you are, or finds three versions of you, either leaves you out or blends you with someone else.
You receive:
Entity fact sheet, About page rewrite, and a source-by-source consistency correction list with owners.
Business value:
Your business becomes one unambiguous thing an assistant can recognise, describe and recommend.

Answer-ready content

We identify the questions buyers actually put to assistants at each stage, from 'which type of valve for this pressure' to 'who supplies this near Coimbatore', and write or restructure pages so each opens with a direct, quotable answer, followed by the evidence, the specifics and the boundaries of what you do. Existing pages are reworked before new ones are written.

Why it matters:
Assistants quote passages that answer the question plainly. A page that circles a topic for six paragraphs gives them nothing to lift.
You receive:
Question map, answer-first briefs, rewritten priority pages and a set of new answer pages agreed in scope.
Business value:
Your own words, not a directory's summary, become the passage an assistant reads out.

Source credibility

We map the external places assistants draw from in your category, such as industry directories, review platforms, association listings, trade publications and knowledge sources, then correct, claim or earn your presence on the ones that matter. Credentials, certifications and named people are surfaced where they can be verified.

Why it matters:
Assistants weigh a claim by how many independent, credible sources repeat it. A claim that appears only on your site carries little weight.
You receive:
Source map with priority tiers, correction and listing log, and a short list of mentions to earn with owners and status.
Business value:
What you say about yourself is confirmed by places the assistant already trusts.

Structured data

We add and maintain schema markup for your organisation, locations, people, products, services, FAQs and articles, matched line by line to the entity fact sheet, and check that it validates and stays intact through site updates.

Why it matters:
Markup removes guesswork. It tells any machine, in a standard form, which facts on the page are the facts.
You receive:
Schema implementation plan, markup deployed or handed to your developer, validation report and a change checklist.
Business value:
Your key facts are readable by every system without depending on how well it interprets prose.

Citation visibility

We run your priority questions through the major assistants on a fixed schedule and record whether you are named, how you are described, which page or source is cited, and who else is recommended. The first run is the baseline the engagement is measured against.

Why it matters:
You cannot manage a channel you have never looked at. Most businesses have no idea what assistants say about them today.
You receive:
Baseline citation report, then a monthly visibility log with question, assistant, presence, accuracy, source and competitors.
Business value:
You see the channel as a buyer sees it, and you see change when it happens.

Monitoring and correction

Each month we compare the visibility log with the previous one, trace any wrong or missing answer to its likely source, fix or brief the fix, and extend the question set as your priorities move. New products, branches or people enter the fact sheet and flow to every source.

Why it matters:
Assistants change models and sources often. A one-time fix decays unless someone is watching.
You receive:
Monthly review note with changes made, corrections in progress, new questions added and next month's priorities.
Business value:
The work stays current, and the owner spends fifteen minutes a month on it rather than a weekend every year.

What you will have at the end.

  • Baseline AI visibility report: priority questions run through the major assistants, with presence, accuracy, cited source and competitors.
  • Entity fact sheet: one page of agreed business facts that every profile, listing and page is checked against.
  • About page and site-wide identity rewrite, with footer, contact and location facts aligned to the sheet.
  • Question map: the buyer questions assistants are being asked in your category, tiered by intent and fit.
  • Answer-first briefs and rewritten priority pages, with new answer pages as agreed in scope.
  • Source map and correction log covering directories, review platforms, associations and publications, with owners and status.
  • Structured data plan and markup for organisation, locations, people, products, services, FAQs and articles, with validation report.
  • CRM tagging guidance so enquiries that mention an AI tool are recorded and counted.
  • Monthly visibility log and review note: what the assistants said, what changed, what we did, what is next.
  • An anonymised sample citation report and sample entity fact sheet, shared on the audit call before you commit.

How it runs

The engagement, step by step.

  1. 1

Baseline your presence in AI answers

We agree the questions that matter, by product, region and buyer stage, and run them through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews. We record presence, description, cited source and competitors for each. We also audit how your business is described across your site and the main external sources.

    You provide:
Product, region and audience priorities, a list of competitors, and access to analytics and Search Console.
    We produce:
Baseline citation report, source audit and a short findings note the owner can read in ten minutes.
    Done when:
The owner has seen what assistants say today and has agreed which gaps matter most.
  2. 2

    Define the entity

We draft the entity fact sheet with the owner: names, locations, categories, offerings, audiences, people, credentials and distinguishing facts. Every claim is checked against something that can be verified. Ambiguities, such as two trading names or a discontinued line still on a listing, are resolved here.

    You provide:
Two hours with the owner, registration and certification documents, and a decision on any ambiguous facts.
    We produce:
The signed-off entity fact sheet and the list of every place it must be reflected.
    Done when:
One agreed description exists and the owner has approved it word for word.
  3. 3

    Fix the sources

We correct your website's identity pages first, then work through the source map: claiming, correcting or removing listings, updating profiles, and aligning descriptions on review and directory sites. Where a mention must be earned rather than edited, we brief it and track it.

    You provide:
Logins or delegated access to profiles and listings, and a named person to approve edits.
    We produce:
Corrected sources, the correction log with status, and a mentions-to-earn list with owners.
    Done when:
Every priority source describes the business consistently with the fact sheet, or has a dated plan to.
  4. 4

    Write and restructure answer-ready pages

Using the question map, we rework priority pages so each opens with a direct answer and supports it with specifics, and we write the new answer pages agreed in scope. Boundaries are stated plainly, including what you do not do, so assistants stop sending mismatched buyers.

    You provide:
Subject-matter review from a product or sales lead, and sign-off on each page before it goes live.
    We produce:
Rewritten pages, new answer pages and the briefs your team can reuse for future content.
    Done when:
Each priority question has a page that answers it in the first paragraph, and the sales lead has approved the wording.
  5. 5

    Mark up and connect

We implement schema markup matched to the fact sheet across organisation, locations, people, products, services, FAQs and articles, validate it, and connect the pages to each other so the relationships between your entity, its offerings and its evidence are explicit.

    You provide:
Developer access or a developer contact, and a staging environment if the site has one.
    We produce:
Deployed and validated markup, internal linking changes, and a change checklist for future site updates.
    Done when:
Markup validates on every priority page and the developer has the checklist for keeping it intact.
  6. 6

    Monitor, correct and extend

Each month we rerun the question set, compare with the baseline and the previous month, trace wrong or missing answers to their likely cause, fix what we can and brief what we cannot. New products, branches, people and questions are added, and the review note is read with the owner.

    You provide:
Fifteen minutes a month with the owner, and notice of any change to the business facts.
    We produce:
Monthly visibility log, review note and updated fact sheet.
    Done when:
The owner can say, each month, where the business appears in AI answers and what is being done about the gaps.

Ways to work with us

Start with the audit and the fix, then decide whether you want us watching.

AI visibility audit and entity fix

The baseline citation report, the entity fact sheet, the identity page rewrite and the priority source corrections. For a business that wants to know where it stands and get the fundamentals right once.

Answer-ready content programme

The audit and fix plus the question map, answer-first briefs, rewritten priority pages, agreed new pages and full structured data. For a business whose buyers ask detailed questions before shortlisting.

Monthly monitoring and correction

The ongoing rhythm after either option above: the monthly visibility log, corrections, fact sheet updates and the review note with the owner. Ends whenever you have an internal owner ready to run it.

Add-on to an existing SEO or content engagement

For businesses already working with Gully Sales or another agency on search. The audit, fact sheet and structured data scoped to sit alongside the current work, with briefs written for the existing team to execute.

Why Gully Sales

What you are actually choosing when you choose us.

We treat it as a revenue channel, not a novelty.

Gully Sales works across marketing, sales and revenue operations. We set up CRM tagging so enquiries influenced by AI answers are counted, and we report the channel next to organic search and referrals, where the owner can judge it.

We fix the sources, not just the site.

Most of what an assistant knows about you comes from places you do not control day to day. We map them, correct them and earn the ones that matter, because a perfect website surrounded by wrong listings is still described wrongly.

We say what we control and what we do not.

Assistants decide whom they cite. We report exactly what we changed and what the assistants said before and after, and we never claim a position, a share or a timeline that the systems themselves do not let anyone promise.

Content is written for buyers first.

Answer-first pages help the human who lands on them as much as the machine that quotes them. Nothing we write is stuffed, padded or hidden. If it would embarrass you in front of a customer, it does not go live.

It fits the search work you already do.

Entity clarity, structured data and credible sources strengthen ordinary search visibility too. The work is scoped to sit alongside an existing SEO or content engagement rather than duplicate it, with briefs the current team can execute.

Where it applies

The same service, in different businesses.

Industrial equipment and components

The situation:
A pump manufacturer supplying process plants finds that engineers at prospective clients ask assistants for suppliers by specification and region, and the answers name two larger competitors and a trading company.
How it applies:
Entity fact sheet built around product categories, materials and industries served; specification pages rewritten to open with direct answers; product and organisation markup; listings corrected on industry directories.
Likely benefit:
The manufacturer becomes a recognisable, accurately described option for the specification-led questions its buyers actually ask.

Hospitals and specialist clinics

The situation:
A multi-speciality hospital notices that patients arrive having asked an assistant which centre handles a particular procedure, and the assistant sometimes names a department the hospital closed two years ago.
How it applies:
Department and doctor facts consolidated into the fact sheet; condition and procedure pages restructured as answers with clear scope; physician and medical organisation markup; profile and listing corrections.
Likely benefit:
Patients are directed to services the hospital actually offers, described the way the hospital would describe them.

IT and software services

The situation:
A mid-sized services firm sells on niche expertise, but assistants describe it in generic terms indistinguishable from a hundred others and cite a stale directory page rather than its own site.
How it applies:
Distinguishing facts and named practices defined in the entity work; case pages and capability pages rewritten answer-first; article and person markup for its senior consultants; earned mentions in trade publications briefed and tracked.
Likely benefit:
The firm's own pages become the source assistants quote, in the firm's own words.

Interior design and architecture studios

The situation:
A design studio depends on referrals and portfolio visits, and now finds homeowners asking assistants for studios by style, budget band and city before they visit any website.
How it applies:
Style, scope and city facts fixed in the fact sheet; project pages restructured to answer the questions homeowners ask; local business and creative work markup; reviews and directory profiles aligned.
Likely benefit:
The studio appears in shortlists for the styles and cities it wants, with its portfolio cited rather than a marketplace summary.

Hospitality and hotels

The situation:
A city hotel sees direct bookings fall as travellers ask assistants for hotels near a venue with specific amenities, and the answers lean on aggregator descriptions that omit what the hotel is proud of.
How it applies:
Amenities, location and audience facts consolidated; location and amenity pages written as direct answers; hotel and offer markup; aggregator and map listings corrected.
Likely benefit:
Travellers asking specific questions see the hotel's own accurate answer and its own booking page.

Coaching, training and education

The situation:
A training institute with several programmes is asked about by working professionals through assistants, but the answers confuse it with a similarly named institute in another state.
How it applies:
Entity disambiguation with names, locations and programme facts; programme pages restructured to answer eligibility, outcome and format questions; educational organisation and course markup; listings claimed and corrected.
Likely benefit:
The institute is recognised as itself, with its programmes described accurately to the professionals who ask.

Questions buyers ask

Before you enquire, the answers you will want.

How will visibility in AI answers be measured?

We agree a fixed set of buyer questions and run them through ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Copilot and Google AI Overviews on a schedule, recording whether you are named, how you are described, which source is cited and who else appears. The first run is the baseline. Each month we rerun the same set and report the change. Because answers vary between runs and users, we record several runs and report the pattern, not a single result, and we tell you when a change is within normal variation.

What is the difference between this and normal SEO?

Search engine optimisation aims to place your page in a list of results. This work aims to have your business recognised, described accurately and cited inside a generated answer, which draws on many sources at once and quotes passages rather than ranking pages. The two overlap: clear entities, credible sources and structured data help both. But answer-ready writing, source correction across the web and citation monitoring are specific to this service, and a good ranking alone does not produce a citation.

How long does the entity and source work take?

The audit, fact sheet and identity corrections are a defined project whose length depends on how many locations, products and sources are involved; we state it in the written scope. The content programme adds time for each page rewritten and approved. Monitoring is monthly and continues as long as you want it. What we cannot state is how quickly assistants will reflect the changes, because each refreshes its sources on its own schedule, so we measure over quarters rather than weeks.

What does agreeing your entity facts need from us?

Time with the owner to agree the facts, usually two working sessions; registration, certification and product documents to verify claims; access or delegated access to your website, Google Business Profile, directories and social profiles; a product or sales lead to review rewritten pages; a developer contact for markup, or permission for us to deploy it; and fifteen minutes a month for the review. Everything else, from research to writing to corrections, is done by Gully Sales.

How do you measure visibility inside AI answers?

Against the baseline, on two levels. First, the channel itself: citation visibility, description accuracy and own-source citations for the agreed questions. Second, what the business feels: qualified organic and AI-referred traffic, assisted conversions, and enquiries tagged in the CRM as mentioning an AI tool, with the share the sales team accepts as qualified. We report both monthly, and we are honest when the channel has moved but the enquiries have not yet, or the reverse.

What does this work not cover?

We do not run paid advertising inside AI tools, fix crawl, speed or hosting problems that stop search engines reading your site, produce video or podcasts, manage your reviews programme, or write content outside the agreed question map. Each of those has its own service and we will point you to it. We also do not create fake listings, reviews or mentions, or use any technique that hides text from people, because that harms the credibility the work depends on.

Can you promise that ChatGPT or Gemini will recommend us?

No, and be cautious of anyone who does. Assistants choose what to cite from their own models and sources, and those change without notice. What we control is whether your business is clear, consistent, credible and quotable across the places assistants read from, and we deliver that in full. We report exactly what changed in their answers before and after, so you can judge the effect yourself rather than take anyone's word for it.

We already have an SEO agency. Does this conflict with their work?

It should strengthen it. Entity clarity, structured data and credible sources help ordinary search visibility as well as AI answers. We scope the work to sit alongside the existing engagement: the audit and fact sheet are ours, the page rewrites can be executed by their writers from our briefs if you prefer, and the markup is coordinated with whoever manages your site. We share the visibility log so both teams work from the same picture.

4 more questions

Our business facts keep changing. Can this still work?

Yes, if someone in the business owns telling us. The fact sheet is designed to be updated, and the monthly cycle pushes changes to every source. What does not work is a business that changes names, locations or offerings frequently and has nobody able to confirm the current truth. In that case we recommend settling the facts first, and we can help with that in the fact sheet session before any wider work begins.

Is this only for large brands, or does it help a small business?

Assistants tend to name businesses they can identify confidently. A small business with one clear description, consistent listings, plainly written answer pages and a few credible mentions is often easier for them to identify than a larger business with a messy footprint. The work is scoped to the size of your business: fewer locations and products mean a smaller source map and question set, not a weaker result. Many of the fixes are within reach of any business willing to state its facts plainly.

Will answer-ready pages read badly to a human visitor?

They should read better. A page that answers the question in its first paragraph, then gives the specifics and the boundaries, is what a busy buyer wants too. We write for the person first and check that the structure serves the machine second. There is no keyword stuffing, no hidden text and no padding. Your sales lead approves every page, and if a sentence would embarrass you in front of a customer it does not go live.

What happens after the free audit?

You receive a short findings note showing how assistants currently describe or omit your business for a sample of questions, the main inconsistencies we found across your sources, and a written scope with deliverables, what we need from you and the fee. There is no obligation. If the findings show that the fundamentals are already sound, we say so and suggest where your effort is better spent, which may be another service or nothing at all.
