E-commerce · Cleaning & Household Supplies

Washing powder is a habit, and habits are broken by a cheaper sachet at the kirana.

Laundry products are bought for a washing machine or for a bucket, and the two are different buyers. Top-load and front-load machines need different detergents, a hostel buyer wants a big pack, and a young family wants something gentle on a baby's clothes.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Laundry products e-commerce is the online sale of washing powder, liquid detergent, detergent pods, fabric softener, stain removers and wash additives for machine and hand wash. GullySales works on how your listings show which machine and which fabric a product suits, how a buyer is moved to a larger pack, and how a household is reminded to reorder before the last scoop.

Brand habit runs deep here, and the shop down the road sells the sachet. So the online buyer has to be offered a reason: a bulk saving, a refill that fits their machine, or a stain remover that actually does the job on a school shirt.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell laundry products online.

  • Liquid detergent and fabric softener brands selling for front-load and top-load machines
  • Washing powder sellers in large packs for families and hostels
  • Stain remover and whitener brands with a niche, such as school shirts or white kurtas
  • Detergent pod, sheet and eco-friendly laundry sellers with a newer product to explain

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who cannot say whether a detergent is for front-load or top-load machines
  • Anyone aiming at a bulk buyer with a pack that costs more per kilo than the shop

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of laundry products.

  1. Machine type and wash type

Front-load, top-load or hand wash. A powder for a bucket makes too much foam in a front-load machine, so the buyer looks for the machine named.

  2. Pack size and price per kilo or litre

Buyers compare a 1 kg pack with a 4 kg pack on cost per wash, and subscription buyers look for a refill pouch.

  3. Fabric and colour

Whites, colours, woollens, baby clothes, school uniforms. Each is a separate worry, and a stain remover is searched by stain.

  4. Fragrance, skin and rinse

Strong scent divides buyers. A parent also asks whether it rinses clean, and a label that lists what is in the product reads as honest.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell laundry products online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “The shop sells the same brand cheaper in a sachet”

A buyer who needs a single wash grabs a sachet at the kirana. Online, you have to win the buyer who buys for a month.

  • “Reviews say the liquid made too much foam”

The buyer used it in the wrong machine, or the right one with a heavy hand. The listing did not give a dose per load.

  • “Subscription never takes off”

A household that bought a pack of detergent forgets it until the pack is empty and buys whatever is nearest.

The scope

The work we would propose for laundry products.

Measured on purchases, conversion rate, cost to win a customer, average order value and repeat purchases. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for laundry products.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A dose and machine chart

A simple table of load size against how much detergent to use for each machine type.

  2. A stain guide by product

Common stains, the product and the method for each, as a page and a printable card.

  3. A cost-per-wash comparison

Your pack sizes set against each other, with the price per wash, so the larger pack looks as good as it is.

  4. A reorder message set

A first message, a reminder and a refill offer, each written for the household type.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Return rate
  • Gap between a household's orders

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your product list with pack sizes and machine suitability
  • Reviews that mention foam, scent or stains left behind
  • Repeat buyers and the gap between their orders, if you can see it
  • Bulk and hostel enquiries you have had
  • Marketplace and website links

Selling in India and abroad

Selling laundry products beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Detergents and shipping

Powders and liquids weigh a lot and some are restricted. Selling to Indian families abroad is a small step for non-liquid items only, if at all.

  2. Local rules for labelling

Countries differ on what a detergent label must say. Check with your adviser before selling detergent abroad.

FAQ

Questions about selling laundry products online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I get a household to order detergent from me and not the corner shop?
Offer a saving the shop cannot, in a larger pack or a refill, and remind the buyer when it runs low. The first order is a trial. The reorder is where the margin is, and we plan the reminder around your own pack sizes.
Do I need separate listings for front-load and top-load?
Yes, if the products differ. A buyer who searches for a front-load liquid and lands on a general page assumes the product is not for their machine.
Can I sell laundry products to PGs and hostels?
Yes, and the buyer is a manager who wants a quotation and a delivery date. We would give that route its own page and follow up each quotation.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
