E-commerce · Gifts & Personalised Products

People buy the voucher in a hurry and then wonder if the receiver can really use it.

A gift card is the gift a buyer picks when time has run out, or when they do not know what the receiver wants. They need to know three things at once: how it reaches the receiver, where it can be used, and what happens if it is lost. The page that answers them before checkout earns the order.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Gift card e-commerce is the online sale of store credit and brand vouchers, delivered by email or WhatsApp, to buyers who want a last-minute gift or a staff reward. GullySales works on the purchase page and the explanation of how a voucher is used, on the gifting moments when buyers search for it, and on bringing the receiver back to spend the balance.

The seller has a different problem. A voucher that is never redeemed is a customer who never came back.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell gift cards online.

  • Retailers and online brands that issue their own gift cards and store credit
  • Restaurants, spas and salons selling vouchers for experiences
  • Resellers of brand vouchers who sell to individuals and companies
  • Employers buying vouchers in bulk for rewards and festival gifts

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who has not set the terms of expiry, refund and redemption and cannot state them
  • A business without a way to check and honour each voucher at the counter or checkout

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of gift cards.

  1. How it is delivered

By email, by WhatsApp, as a printed card, on a date the buyer chooses, with a message. The buyer asks if it can arrive on the morning of the birthday.

  2. Where and how it is used

Online only, in store, on which products. The buyer does not want to send a voucher that confuses the receiver.

  3. Amount and validity

Fixed values or an amount of the buyer's choice. The buyer reads the validity and what happens to any balance left over.

  4. Reliability

A first-time buyer asks whether the code works, who to call when it does not and whether it can be resent.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell gift cards online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Receivers say the code did not work”

A mistyped code or a rule the receiver did not read becomes a complaint to the buyer, and then to you. The terms and the redemption steps were not clear.

  • “Gift card sales spike once a year and fall away”

Festival and last-minute sales are strong, but the rest of the year the page is not found, as nobody searches for it.

  • “Vouchers are bought and never used”

A receiver forgets the card, and the brand has taken the money but not made a customer.

The scope

The work we would propose for gift cards.

Measured on purchases, conversion rate, cost to win a customer, average order value and repeat purchases. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for gift cards.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A gift card page

Amount, delivery, message and redemption steps in a single flow, for the buyer in a hurry.

  2. A receiver message

A short text or email that tells the receiver how to use the voucher and what to do if it does not work.

  3. A bulk order form

A form for companies with value bands, quantity and delivery to several people.

  4. A redemption reminder

A message sent to receivers with a balance, in the words you approve.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Redemption rate of the vouchers sold

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • How gift cards are sold and delivered now
  • Your terms on expiry, refund and balance
  • Redemption data, if you track it
  • Complaints about codes that did not work
  • Bulk buyers you already supply

Selling in India and abroad

Selling gift cards beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Buyers abroad gifting people in India

A voucher is the easiest gift to send across a border, since nothing is shipped. Families overseas buy them for relatives in India. They want a card in rupees and a clear explanation of how it is used.

  2. Payment and rules across borders

Accepting payment in another currency and issuing stored value to overseas buyers carry rules. Your payment provider and adviser confirm them before you advertise abroad.

FAQ

Questions about selling gift cards online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I get more people to redeem the gift cards I sell?
Message the receiver when the card is sent, again if there is a balance, and make the first use simple. A receiver who has used the card once knows your shop.
Do I need separate gift card pages for festivals?
One page with festival-specific designs and messages works. A separate page for each occasion helps when people search in those words, so we look at what they type.
Can you advise on gift card rules?
No. Expiry, refund and payment rules for stored-value cards are for your adviser. We write and place the page once you tell us what the terms are.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
