GullySales

E-commerce · Haircare

Half our buyers wash with conditioner and the other half skip it altogether.

Many buyers in India grew up with shampoo and oil and no conditioner. So the seller is selling a habit before a product: what it does, when it goes on, how long it stays and where on the hair.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Conditioner e-commerce is the online sale of rinse-off conditioners, leave-in conditioners and detanglers, sold alone or paired with a shampoo. GullySales works on how your listings teach a buyer when and how to use conditioner, how pairing with a shampoo lifts the order, and how a leave-in is told apart from a rinse-off.

That makes the listing and the first message after delivery matter more than the formula. A buyer who uses it on the scalp, or leaves it in for ten minutes when it should be rinsed, writes the review that follows.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for haircare differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell conditioners online.

  • Brands selling conditioner as a pair with their shampoo
  • Makers of leave-in conditioners and detangling sprays
  • Brands for curly and coily hair where conditioner is the main product
  • Sellers of salon-style conditioners and deep conditioning packs

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who has no shampoo or routine to attach a conditioner to and wants it to sell alone on discount
  • Anyone who wants us to write that a conditioner repairs damaged hair as a promise

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of conditioners.

  1. Rinse-off or leave-in

Buyers confuse the two and the listing has to say which it is in the title. A leave-in used as a rinse-off is wasted, and the reverse leaves hair heavy.

  2. How to use it, step by step

After shampoo, mid-lengths and ends, left on for a stated time, rinsed. A first-time buyer looks for that, often as a short video.

  3. Weight on the hair

Fine hair buyers fear a greasy result and thick hair buyers fear it will not be enough. Reviews that say limp, heavy or soft decide the next sale.

  4. Matching the shampoo

Many buyers want the conditioner from the same line as their shampoo. If they are not obviously a pair on your page, the buyer buys one.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell conditioners online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Customers say it made my hair greasy”

The cause is the wrong amount, or conditioner applied at the roots. The listing and the pack should show where it goes.

  • “We sell the shampoo, but the conditioner sits in the catalogue”

Buyers finish the shampoo cart and never see the conditioner, or see it as a second price with no reason.

  • “Detanglers are sold as conditioners and returned”

A spray that is meant for combing is bought for repairing. The expectation was wrong from the title.

What we do

What you get for conditioners.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A how-to-use panel for each product

Steps with quantities and timings in pictures, so the first use goes right and the review is better.

  2. A rinse-off against leave-in comparison

A short table that settles which the buyer needs, linked from both listings.

  3. Pair bundles with their own page

A shampoo-and-conditioner set per hair type, each with its own search page and image.

  4. A wash-day video script

A short script your team or a creator follows, showing the amounts and timings on camera.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Return rate
  • Share of shampoo orders that include a conditioner

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your conditioner listings and the shampoos they pair with
  • Reviews mentioning greasy, heavy or no difference
  • Bundle sales against single sales
  • Any video or usage pictures you already have
  • Recent ad spend and what it sold

Selling in India and abroad

Selling conditioners beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Already a habit abroad

Buyers in the US, the UK and the Gulf already use conditioner, so the question there is which hair type and which ingredients, not what it is for.

  2. Bottle size and shipping

Liquids are limited by many carriers and some markets want local label language. Checked with your carrier and adviser before the first listing.

FAQ

Questions about selling conditioners online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should I sell conditioner and shampoo together or separately?
Both. Sell a pair as a bundle priced under the two singles, and keep each on its own page so a buyer who wants one can find it. Then watch how many pairs you sell against singles.
How do I explain leave-in conditioner so buyers do not misuse it?
Put leave-in in the title and show the amount on a hand in the first three images. Say clearly it is not rinsed out, and that a rinse-off conditioner is the other product.
Why do conditioner reviews say it made my hair flat?
Because it went on the scalp or too much was used. Put an application picture on the listing and send it again after delivery. Fine hair buyers may need a lighter product, and the listing should say so.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
