Every order turns into a WhatsApp chat about fonts and spelling.

A personalised piece cannot go back on the shelf. A necklace spelling Priyanka with one letter wrong is a remake at your cost and a disappointed customer, and the mistake was made the moment your form allowed it.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Personalised jewellery is made to order with a name, initials, a date, a birthstone or a handwriting engraving, as in name necklaces, initial pendants, engraved bracelets and couple rings, and it is bought as a gift for someone in particular. GullySales works on how your customisation form and preview take the order without a long chat, how buyers find you before the occasion, and how one gift buyer comes back for the next birthday.

The buyer also has a deadline. They are ordering for Raksha Bandhan, an anniversary or a baby's naming ceremony, and need to know the piece will reach them before that day, in a font they have actually seen.

Last updated 7 Oct 2026. Product, labelling and advertising rules for jewellery differ by product and change. We describe them in general terms, so check the current position with your own adviser or the regulator before you publish a claim.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell personalised jewellery online.

  • Instagram and Etsy sellers of name necklaces and initial pendants
  • Jewellers offering engraving on rings, bracelets and lockets
  • Brands making couple rings and family birthstone pieces for gifting
  • Sellers who write names in Hindi, Tamil, Bengali and other scripts

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who cannot show the buyer a preview or a proof before making the piece
  • Anyone who wants to promise delivery dates the workshop cannot keep

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of personalised jewellery.

  1. Seeing the name before paying

The buyer types the name and wants to see it in the font, size and metal they chose. A drop-down of font names with no preview stops them.

  2. Script and spelling

Names in Devanagari, Tamil or Bengali script, and English names with unusual spellings, need a check the buyer can trust.

  3. The last date to order

Valentine's Day, Raksha Bandhan, Mother's Day, an anniversary. If your page does not show the last order date for the occasion, they order from a seller who does.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell personalised jewellery online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Every order becomes a long WhatsApp conversation”

Font, size, spelling, chain length, gift note. When the website does not capture these, your team collects them by hand, one message at a time.

  • “We made the piece and the spelling was wrong”

The buyer typed it wrong, or someone read it wrong. Either way it is a remake, because nobody approved a proof first.

  • “Buyers want to return a piece with someone's name on it”

If your policy does not take personalised pieces back and the page did not say so before payment, the argument happens after delivery.

The scope

The work we would propose for personalised jewellery.

Measured on purchases, conversion rate, cost to win a customer, average order value and repeat purchases. Anything here that needs a platform or tool we have not used with you is confirmed in the audit before it goes in the scope.

What we do

What you get for personalised jewellery.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A customisation form specification

Every field, character limit and preview rule, so orders arrive complete and spelt the way the buyer meant.

  2. A proof approval message

The image, the wording and the rule that nothing goes to the workshop without a reply.

  3. An occasion calendar with last order dates

Each gifting date, its last order date for your workshop, and the campaign that runs before it.

  4. A returns note for personalised pieces

Your policy written plainly and shown before payment, with the wording checked by your adviser.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Average order value
  • Repeat purchase rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Remakes for spelling or font errors

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your product pages and the customisation form you use now
  • Remakes from the past year and what caused each
  • Your workshop's making time for each kind of piece
  • WhatsApp chats from a busy gifting season
  • The scripts and fonts you can engrave

Selling in India and abroad

Selling personalised jewellery beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Names that travel

Diaspora buyers order name pieces in Indian scripts for family abroad, and other buyers find name necklaces on Etsy. List chain lengths in inches and ring sizes in US or UK charts.

  2. Making time plus shipping time

An overseas order needs your making time and international delivery before the occasion, so last order dates abroad come earlier. Duty and returns are checked for each market, starting with orders you already receive.

FAQ

Questions about selling personalised jewellery online.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do I stop spelling mistakes on name jewellery?
Have the buyer approve a proof before anything is made. Show the name in the chosen font on the product page, then send an image of the exact piece for a yes on WhatsApp, and keep that approval with the order.
Can I refuse returns on personalised jewellery?
That depends on your policy and on consumer rules, so agree the wording with your adviser. Whatever you decide, show it before payment. A rule the buyer saw at checkout causes far fewer arguments than one they find later.
Should I offer names in Hindi or Tamil?
Yes, if your workshop engraves them cleanly. Buyers searching for a name in their own script want proof you can do it, so show photographs of finished pieces in each script, not only a font sample.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.
