GullySales

An online store that takes orders, payments and GST invoices while your team sleeps.

Gully Sales builds e-commerce websites for Indian SMBs: catalogue, checkout, payments, shipping and order management on a platform your own team can run after launch, planned around how your buyers actually choose and pay.

  • A catalogue and checkout planned around how your buyers actually choose and pay.
  • UPI, cards, cash on delivery, GST invoices and shipping connected before launch.
  • A store your team can update and operate without calling a developer.

Gully Sales Private Limited builds online stores that Indian teams run themselves, with payments, GST and shipping connected before launch.

In one paragraph

What is E-commerce website development for Indian SMBs?

E-commerce website development from Gully Sales gives Indian SMBs an online store that sells without a salesperson: a catalogue buyers can search, a checkout that takes UPI, cards and cash on delivery, GST-ready invoices, and shipping and stock connected to how you already operate. We plan it around your buyer, build it on a platform your team can run, and test it with real orders before launch.

The problem

Your products sell in person, and the internet keeps asking for them.

You already sell well when a customer stands in front of you or calls a distributor. The demand is there; what is missing is a way to take the order when you are not in the room. Many SMBs try a marketplace listing, a WhatsApp catalogue or a template store put up in a weekend, and each one works until it does not: the margin goes to the marketplace, the order goes into a chat nobody reconciles, or the checkout fails on the one payment method your buyer uses. None of this is a failure of effort. It is the gap between a shop that sells and a system that sells.

You will recognise it as

  • Orders arrive on WhatsApp, Instagram and phone, and someone re-types them into an invoice by hand.
  • Your marketplace sales are growing and your margin on them is not.
  • A template store exists, and the cart, courier and GST invoice each live in a different tool.
  • Buyers ask for a price list or a catalogue PDF because the website cannot answer them.
  • Stock on the website and stock in the godown disagree, and a customer finds out first.
  • B2B customers want to reorder without calling, and there is no way to let them.

What it costs the business

  • Every order that needs a human to complete it costs you the margin that made it worth taking.
  • Payment failures at checkout are invisible to you and final to the buyer, who does not try twice.
  • Manual invoicing and stock updates turn a sales problem into an accounting problem every month.
  • You cannot advertise with confidence because the store cannot convert the traffic you would pay for.

Why it persists. Most e-commerce builds are sold as websites, so the conversation is about themes and pages rather than payments, tax, courier rates and stock. The developer finishes the front of the store and leaves the operating side to you. Without a plan for who updates products, reconciles payments and handles returns, the store slowly becomes a brochure with a cart, and the orders go back to WhatsApp.

If it stays unresolved. The business keeps paying marketplace commissions and manual effort for sales it could take directly, and the online channel stays a side activity that never earns its own budget. Competitors who solve the operating side first take the buyers who prefer to order without a phone call.

What changes

What you get is a store that runs; what may follow is a channel that grows.

In the first weeks

  • A catalogue with correct product data, pricing, variants and images that buyers can search and filter.
  • A checkout that accepts UPI, cards, net banking, wallets and cash on delivery through an Indian payment gateway.
  • GST-compliant invoices generated per order with the right tax rate per product and place of supply.
  • Courier, pincode serviceability and shipping rates connected so a buyer sees delivery cost before paying.

In how the work runs

  • One order record from cart to dispatch, with stock adjusted automatically instead of by hand.
  • A team trained to add products, run offers, process returns and reconcile payouts without a developer.
  • Order and customer data flowing into your CRM or accounting tool rather than sitting inside the store.

In sales and marketing

  • Direct sales that keep the margin a marketplace would take.
  • Repeat and B2B buyers who reorder themselves, freeing your sales team for new accounts.
  • A store that can absorb paid traffic, so campaigns become a decision rather than a risk.

In what management can see

  • Product and category pages built to be indexed, with structured data for price and availability.
  • A clean base for e-commerce SEO and marketing to build on later.

Over the longer term

  • A commerce platform that grows with the catalogue, the order volume and the channels you add.
  • Ownership of the customer relationship and the data that a marketplace never shares.

Gully Sales controls the store's structure, build, integrations, testing and handover. Sales volume, conversion rate and margin depend on your products, pricing, fulfilment and the traffic you bring, so we report them honestly rather than promise them.

Who it is for

This is for businesses ready to sell directly, not only to be found.

The businesses it suits

  • Manufacturers and brands selling consumer products who want a direct channel alongside distributors and marketplaces.
  • Retailers with one or a few physical stores who want to sell to the whole city or country.
  • Distributors and wholesalers who want dealers and B2B customers to order and reorder online.
  • Founders who have proved demand on Instagram, WhatsApp or a marketplace and need a store they own.
  • Businesses on a template store that has become a bottleneck for payments, stock or tax.
  • Companies with a catalogue too large or too variable for a brochure site with a contact form.

What usually prompts the call

  • Marketplace commissions or a platform policy change have squeezed the margin on your online sales.
  • Order volume has crossed what one person can manage on WhatsApp and a spreadsheet.
  • A new product range or a new city needs a channel that opens on day one.
  • Your accountant has asked for order-level GST records the current setup cannot produce.
  • You are about to spend on ads and are not confident the store can take the orders.

What Gully Sales does

The work, component by component.

Discovery and commerce model

We map how you sell today: products, variants, price lists, taxes, buyers, order sources, fulfilment, returns and who does each job. We decide what the store must do on day one and what can wait.

Why it matters:
A store built from a product list alone misses the rules that make orders correct: minimum quantities, dealer pricing, pincode limits, GST rates by HSN.
You receive:
A commerce requirements brief and a platform recommendation with reasons.
Business value:
You know what you are buying before anything is built, and the platform fits your operation rather than the developer's habit.

Sitemap and catalogue structure

We design the category tree, product page structure, filters, search behaviour and the paths from home to checkout, including B2B routes such as login-only pricing or bulk order forms where needed.

Why it matters:
Buyers leave when they cannot find the product or cannot tell two variants apart; structure decides that before design does.
You receive:
A sitemap, category and attribute model, and page-by-page wireframes for key templates.
Business value:
Every product has a findable home, and the store can grow without the navigation breaking.

Content and product data

We set the product data standard: names, descriptions, specifications, images, HSN codes, tax rates, variants and stock fields, and prepare or migrate the catalogue to that standard.

Why it matters:
Most launch delays and most checkout errors trace back to incomplete or inconsistent product data.
You receive:
A product data template, a cleaned catalogue import, and copy for category, policy and trust pages.
Business value:
Launch is not held up by data, and your team has a standard to follow when adding products later.

Design system

We design the store's visual system: product cards, listing and detail pages, cart, checkout, account and order pages, on mobile first, using your brand and tested against the buyer decisions on each page.

Why it matters:
Most Indian buyers shop on a phone with a slow connection; a design that is beautiful on a desktop and unusable on a phone sells nothing.
You receive:
Mobile and desktop designs for every store template, with a component library the build follows.
Business value:
A store that looks like your brand and works with one thumb, and pages that are consistent as the catalogue grows.

Development and platform

We build the store on the platform chosen at discovery, whether a hosted commerce platform, an open-source stack or a custom build, configured for Indian payments, tax and shipping from the start.

Why it matters:
Platform choice decides what your team can change themselves and what will need a developer for years.
You receive:
A working store on a staging address, built to the designs and the requirements brief.
Business value:
You get a store your team can operate, not a custom system only its builder understands.

Integrations

We connect the payment gateway, courier aggregator or logistics partner, GST invoicing, and the CRM, accounting or inventory tools you already use, plus WhatsApp and email order notifications.

Why it matters:
An e-commerce site is only a store when money, goods, tax and records move without someone re-typing them.
You receive:
Live, tested integrations with documented settings and the credentials in your name.
Business value:
Orders flow from checkout to dispatch to your books with no manual step in between.

Testing

We run real test orders through every payment method, every shipping zone and every tax case, on real phones, and check speed, accessibility and search readiness before anyone outside sees the store.

Why it matters:
A checkout that fails for one payment method or one pincode loses buyers silently, and you find out weeks later.
You receive:
A test log covering payments, shipping, tax, returns and devices, with every defect fixed or recorded.
Business value:
You launch knowing that the order paths your buyers will use have been tried, not assumed.

Launch and handover

We move the store live with redirects, tracking and search console in place, train your team on daily operations, and stay for the first live orders to fix what only real customers find.

Why it matters:
The first weeks decide whether the store becomes the way you sell or another abandoned project.
You receive:
A launched store, an operations manual, recorded training, and a handover of every account and credential.
Business value:
Your team runs the store from the first week, and nothing about it is locked to Gully Sales.

What you will have at the end.

  • Commerce requirements brief covering products, pricing, tax, buyers, fulfilment and roles.
  • Platform recommendation with the reasons for and against each option considered.
  • Sitemap, category and attribute model, and wireframes for every key store template.
  • Product data template and a cleaned, imported catalogue with HSN codes and tax rates.
  • Mobile-first designs and a component library for listing, product, cart, checkout and account pages.
  • A built store on staging, configured for Indian payments, GST invoicing and shipping.
  • Payment gateway, courier, invoicing and CRM or accounting integrations, tested with live orders.
  • Test log across payment methods, shipping zones, tax cases and devices, with fixes recorded.
  • Launch checklist executed: redirects, analytics, tracking, search console and policies.
  • Operations manual and recorded training for products, offers, orders, returns and payouts.
  • Full handover of accounts, credentials and code or platform ownership in your company's name.

How it runs

The engagement, step by step.

  1. 1

    Discovery

We interview the owner, sales, dispatch and accounts, review how orders and payments work today, list every product rule and tax case, and agree the scope for launch and what waits.

    You provide:
Product list, price lists, current order and invoice samples, a list of tools in use, and time from the people who run orders.
    We produce:
Commerce requirements brief, platform recommendation and an agreed launch scope.
    Done when:
You have signed off the brief and the platform, and nothing in scope surprises you later.
  2. 2

    Sitemap and catalogue structure

We design the category tree, attributes, filters, search and the routes to checkout, including any B2B ordering paths, and wireframe the templates buyers will use most.

    You provide:
Feedback on how customers ask for products and which distinctions between products matter.
    We produce:
Sitemap, attribute model and wireframes for home, listing, product, cart and checkout.
    Done when:
Every product has a place, and the path to checkout is agreed on paper.
  3. 3

    Content and product data

We set the product data standard, clean or migrate your catalogue to it, write category and policy content, and gather or brief the product photography needed.

    You provide:
Product details, images, HSN codes, tax rates, stock figures and approvals on written content.
    We produce:
Product data template, import-ready catalogue, and copy for category, policy and trust pages.
    Done when:
The catalogue imports cleanly with no product missing a price, tax rate or image.
  4. 4

    Design system

We design the store's templates mobile-first in your brand, review them against real buyer decisions on each page, and build the component library the development will follow.

    You provide:
Brand assets, one round of consolidated feedback per template, and a decision-maker for sign-off.
    We produce:
Approved mobile and desktop designs and a component library.
    Done when:
Designs are approved and the development team can build without open questions.
  5. 5

    Development and integrations

We build the store on the chosen platform, configure Indian payments, GST invoicing and shipping, and connect your CRM, accounting or inventory tools and order notifications.

    You provide:
Accounts with the payment gateway, courier partner and existing tools, opened in your company's name.
    We produce:
A working store on staging with every integration connected and documented.
    Done when:
A test order flows from checkout to dispatch to your books with no manual step.
  6. 6

    Testing

We run test orders through every payment method, shipping zone, tax case and return path on real devices, and check speed, accessibility and search readiness.

    You provide:
A few people from your side to place test orders as customers would, and to process them as staff would.
    We produce:
A test log with every defect fixed or recorded with a reason.
    Done when:
You have placed and fulfilled test orders yourself and signed off the store for launch.
  7. 7

    Launch and handover

We move the store live with redirects, tracking and search console set up, train your team on daily operations, and stay through the first live orders to fix what real customers find.

    You provide:
Domain access, the go-live decision, and the people who will operate the store attending training.
    We produce:
A live store, an operations manual, recorded training and a full handover of accounts and credentials.
    Done when:
Your team has processed real orders on its own and holds every account in your name.

Ways to work with us

Build a new store, replatform an old one, or add a B2B ordering portal.

New store build

For businesses selling online for the first time or replacing a chat and marketplace setup. Discovery through launch and handover, with an agreed launch scope and a plan for what comes after.

Replatform or rebuild

For businesses whose current store cannot handle payments, tax, stock or growth. We migrate products, customers and order history, preserve search rankings with redirects, and retire the old store cleanly.

B2B ordering portal

For distributors and manufacturers who want dealers and business customers to order, reorder and see their own pricing online. Login-based catalogues, credit terms and bulk order paths built in.

Build and operate

For businesses without a team to run the store yet. We build it and then run products, offers, order handling and reporting for an agreed period while training your team to take over.

Why Gully Sales

What you are actually choosing when you choose us.

We build the operating side, not only the storefront.

Payments, GST, courier rates, stock and returns are designed at discovery and tested with real orders. The store is judged by whether an order flows to your books unaided, not by how the homepage looks.

We know how Indian buyers pay and how Indian businesses invoice.

UPI, cash on delivery, pincode serviceability, HSN-wise tax rates and place-of-supply rules are the default in our builds, not customisations bolted on at the end.

The store is planned as a sales channel, by people who run sales.

Gully Sales works across marketing, sales and revenue operations, so the store is built to fit your pricing, your dealer relationships and your CRM, and to hand enquiries and orders to the people who follow them up.

Your team owns it and can run it.

Every account is opened in your name, every setting is documented, and your people are trained on the store before we step back. There is no lock-in to us, our hosting or our developers.

Scope is written down before work starts.

You see what is in the launch scope, what waits for a later phase and what each side provides, so the project does not drift and the invoice does not surprise you.

Where it applies

The same service, in different businesses.

Food and wellness brands

The situation:
A packaged snack or health-food brand sells through a few retailers and Instagram, and orders are collected on WhatsApp and dispatched by hand.
How it applies:
A direct-to-consumer store with variants and bundles, subscription or repeat-order options, cash on delivery, and courier integration with pincode checks.
Likely benefit:
Orders arrive with payment and address complete, and the team packs instead of typing.

Industrial spares and components

The situation:
A distributor of bearings, fittings or tools has thousands of SKUs and dealers who phone in orders for the same parts every month.
How it applies:
A B2B ordering portal with login-based dealer pricing, part-number search, minimum quantities, reorder from history and GST invoices per dealer.
Likely benefit:
Dealers reorder themselves and the sales team spends its day on new accounts.

Fashion and apparel retail

The situation:
A boutique or apparel brand with a physical store wants to sell to the whole country without paying marketplace commissions on every piece.
How it applies:
A mobile-first store with size and colour variants, a returns and exchange flow, and stock shared between the shop floor and the website.
Likely benefit:
The store sells nationally while the shop keeps its margin and its customer list.

Home decor and furniture

The situation:
A furniture maker sells high-value items where buyers need dimensions, material options, delivery cost and assembly details before they commit.
How it applies:
Detailed product pages with configurable options, pincode-based delivery charges for bulky goods, part-payment and enquiry paths alongside the cart.
Likely benefit:
Buyers get every answer on the page, and high-value orders arrive with delivery already priced.

Hardware and building materials

The situation:
A hardware brand or dealer sells to both retail customers and contractors, with different prices, quantities and tax treatment for each.
How it applies:
One store with a retail catalogue and a trade login, quantity-based pricing, HSN-wise GST and order data flowing to the accounting system.
Likely benefit:
Two customer types are served correctly from one catalogue without two websites.

Questions buyers ask

Before you enquire, the answers you will want.

What do we need to provide before the build can start?

A complete product list with prices, variants, HSN codes and tax rates; product images or the willingness to shoot them; your brand assets; samples of current invoices; and access to the tools you already use for accounts, stock or CRM. You also need a person on your side who can answer product and pricing questions quickly and approve designs. We give you a template for the product data at discovery, so you know exactly what to gather.

Which integrations are included, and which need separate accounts?

A payment gateway, a courier or logistics aggregator, GST invoicing, order notifications by email and WhatsApp, and a connection to your CRM, accounting or inventory tool are all within scope. The accounts themselves, such as the gateway or courier partner, are opened in your company's name with your KYC, because they hold your money and your contracts. We guide the setup, configure them and test them; we never hold them for you.

How long does an e-commerce website engagement take?

It depends on the size and cleanliness of your catalogue, the number of integrations, the platform chosen and how quickly your side can supply data and approvals. We do not quote a fixed duration on this page because a fifty-product store and a five-thousand-SKU dealer portal are different projects. At the audit we set out the phases, what each needs from you, and where the schedule is most likely to slip so you can plan for it.

Which platform will you build on?

We recommend a platform at discovery based on your catalogue, integrations, budget for ongoing costs and the skills of the team who will run it. That may be a hosted commerce platform, an open-source stack or a custom build. We explain the reasons for and against each option in writing, including what your team can change without a developer and what the platform will cost you each year, so the choice is yours and not ours by default.

Will the store handle GST correctly?

Yes, and this is designed at discovery rather than fixed after launch. Each product carries its HSN code and tax rate, invoices apply the right rate and place-of-supply treatment for each order, and B2B buyers can enter their GSTIN so their invoices are valid for input credit. We test every tax case with real orders before launch and check that order data reaches your accountant in a form they can file from, though your accountant remains responsible for the filings themselves.

How is success measured, and what do you not promise?

We measure checkout completion, cart abandonment, qualified conversion rate, form completion, page speed, engagement, cost per conversion and the share of orders that need no manual step, against a baseline recorded before launch and reported weekly then monthly. We are responsible for the store working as scoped and for reporting these honestly. We do not promise sales volume, ad performance or rankings, because those depend on your product, pricing, fulfilment and traffic.

What is excluded from the scope?

Product photography and copywriting are quoted separately if you need them, as are ongoing marketing, e-commerce SEO, paid campaigns and marketplace management, which have their own pages. Hosting, security and maintenance after handover are separate services we can provide or you can arrange elsewhere. Third-party fees such as gateway charges, courier rates, platform subscriptions and domain costs are always paid by you directly. All of this is listed in the written scope before you commit.

Can you migrate our existing store without losing orders, customers or rankings?

Yes. For a replatform we export products, customers and order history from the current store, map them to the new structure, and set up redirects from every old address to its new one so search rankings and bookmarked links carry over. We run both stores in parallel during testing and switch on a day you choose, usually outside your peak. The old store is retired only after the new one has taken live orders cleanly.

2 more questions

Can one store serve both retail customers and B2B dealers?

Yes, and for many Indian manufacturers and distributors that is the right answer. The store shows a public retail catalogue and, behind a login, dealer or trade pricing, minimum quantities, credit terms and reorder-from-history. GST treatment follows the buyer type. This avoids running two websites and two stock records, and it lets your sales team see every customer's ordering in one place. We decide at discovery whether the B2B side belongs at launch or in a later phase.

Who runs the store after launch, and what happens if we get stuck?

Your team runs it. Before handover we train the people who will add products, run offers, process orders and returns and reconcile payouts, and we leave a written operations manual and recorded sessions. We stay through the first live orders to fix what real customers find. After that you can choose our maintenance and support service, take a build-and-operate engagement while your team learns, or manage the store entirely on your own.
