E-commerce · Wearable Technology

Nobody in India has seen one on a finger, so the first question is whether it is real.

A smart ring is bought by someone who read about it, saw a reel and is still not sure it does anything. There is no screen, so the product cannot be shown in use the way a watch can. The page has to do the explaining.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

In one paragraph

Smart rings are small titanium or ceramic rings with sensors inside that count steps and sleep and sync to a phone app, with no screen to look at. GullySales works on how you introduce a product the buyer has never handled: sizing, what a ring without a display actually shows, the subscription or app fee if there is one, and the trust a new brand needs before a premium-priced first order.

Prices are high for a first-time purchase and the market is thin. A buyer who orders the wrong size cannot wear the thing, and there are few places to try one on.

Who it is for

This is written for you if you sell smart rings online.

  • Brands launching a smart ring in India, whether their own or an importer's
  • Importers and resellers of overseas ring brands with Indian warranty cover
  • Sellers whose ring has an app subscription and needs to explain it
  • Brands that sell through Instagram and creator reviews more than marketplaces

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • A seller who cannot offer a sizing kit, an exchange for a wrong size or a clear warranty
  • Anyone who needs the ring described as a medical sensor

How buyers choose

What decides the sale of smart rings.

  1. Ring size and the sizing kit

A finger swells in heat and changes size across the day, and the buyer worries about getting it wrong. A sizing kit, a printable chart and an exchange policy are what they look for.

  2. What is measured, and what the app shows

Sleep, steps, heart rate and readiness scores as the brand names them. The buyer wants screenshots of the app, and wants to know whether a ring is useful without one.

  3. Material, thickness and wear

Titanium or ceramic, thickness in millimetres, weight, whether it scratches and whether it is fine for lifting weights. Photographs next to a coin or a hand settle the question of size.

  4. Subscription and fees

Whether the app features need a monthly payment, what happens if the buyer stops, and what the battery gives before the next charge.

Where sales are lost

What usually goes wrong when you sell smart rings online.

In the words sellers use on the first call.

  • “Interested people ask what it does and leave”

With no screen, the answer is longer than a listing allows. The buyer who gets a clear, short reply on WhatsApp is the one who orders.

  • “The wrong size is coming back”

A ring is not resold as new once it has been worn. Returns for size cost you the unit as well as the shipping.

  • “Customers think the subscription is a trick”

A buyer who finds an app fee after the purchase feels they have been misled and says so in a review, whatever the listing said in small print.

What we do

What you get for smart rings.

Each deliverable and what it is there to change.

  1. A smart ring against a smartwatch page

An honest comparison of what each does, for a buyer who is choosing between the two, including when the watch is the better buy.

  2. A sizing kit flow and page

How the buyer orders a kit, measures at three points in the day and is moved to the final order, with the exchange terms written out.

  3. An app tour

Screenshots and a short video of the morning view, the sleep view and what each number means in the app's own terms.

  4. A fees and subscription statement

One block, repeated on the listing, cart and confirmation, saying what is free, what costs money and how to cancel.

How the result is measured

  • Purchases
  • Conversion rate
  • Customer acquisition cost
  • Return rate
  • Sizing kits ordered that became rings
  • Exchanges for size

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

What we need from you

What to have ready before the audit call.

None of it has to be tidy. We read what you have.

  • Your ring models, sizes in stock and the sizing kit if you have one
  • App screens, and the subscription terms in full
  • Early buyers' feedback and questions
  • Your import or manufacturing route and warranty terms
  • Any creators who have already worn the ring

Selling in India and abroad

Selling smart rings beyond your own market.

Where you sell decides sizes, units, seasons and returns. We work from Bengaluru and have no overseas office, so for a new country we start from your own sales and the platforms you already use.

  1. Where rings already sell

The US and Europe have an established buyer, with known brands. Competing against them needs a clear reason, such as a lower price or a size range they lack, and it is confirmed against your own sales first.

  2. Sizing across countries

US, UK and Indian ring sizes are expressed differently, and the sizing kit needs to follow the buyer's own chart.

  3. Batteries and shipping

A ring holds a small lithium battery, and carrier rules and customs treatment of it vary. Your freight adviser confirms what applies before you ship.

FAQ

Questions about selling smart rings online.

How do I sell a smart ring when most people have never seen one?
Show it on a finger, next to a coin, and say what the buyer sees in the app the next morning. A short page that explains one use well sells better than a long list of sensors.
Should the ring be sold on a marketplace?
Maybe later. A new product category is easier to explain on your own site, with the sizing kit and the comparison page. A marketplace gives reach, but buyers there compare on price, which is not where a premium ring wins.
Do I have to offer a sizing kit?
It is the most common thing buyers ask for. If you cannot offer one, at least offer an exchange for the wrong size and say so near the price. Without either, a careful buyer will wait.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.
