Universities · Local SEO

Make the campus easy to find, call and visit for the families who plan a trip.

Local SEO for a university covers the map listings, campus details and nearby searches that bring families to the gate and the admissions office. GullySales cleans up each listing so the address, hours, phone and department contacts agree everywhere a family looks.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For universities

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Several campuses share one name on the map”

A university with a city campus, a hostel block and an off-site teaching centre can show three listings with the same title. The family drives to the wrong gate on admission day and rings the first number they find.

  • “The admissions office has no listing of its own”

Searchers look for where to submit documents, not for the university in general. When only the main gate is listed, the visitor wanders between buildings asking security guards for directions.

  • “Families search for hostels and surroundings before they apply”

Parents type the hostel, the transport and the area into the map. Reviews and photos that predate the current building shape the first impression, and nobody on the staff replies to them.

  • “Phone numbers on listings go to a switchboard”

A number that reaches a reception desk instead of the admissions desk loses the call between transfers. The caller hears a ring tone, hangs up and tries the next university on the list.

What we do

What we deliver for universities.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Listing audit across every campus

A check of each map listing for name, address, type, hours and phone, with the errors listed against the campus they belong to.

Result: Each campus has one correct listing.

  2. Admissions office and department listings

Separate listings for the admissions office and for the schools that receive visitors, with the right contact and visiting hours.

Result: A visitor reaches the office they need without asking at the gate.

  3. Photo and hostel information update

Current photographs of the campus, hostel and gate entry, with accurate captions supplied by the university.

Result: A parent sees today's campus, not an old one.

  4. Review reply guide

A written guide for answering reviews politely and consistently, with the name of the person who replies for each campus.

Result: Every review gets an answer from a named desk.

  5. Direct-line setup for admission enquiries

A dedicated number or call route for admissions, set with the telecom provider, shown on every listing and page.

Result: The call reaches the admissions desk first.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these universities.

  • State universities with many affiliated colleges
  • Private universities with a campus and hostel focus
  • Deemed-to-be universities with their own entrance
  • Universities with a dedicated research and PhD focus
  • Universities that recruit international students
  • Universities with strong professional schools such as engineering, law and management
  • Sector-specific universities in health, agriculture, technology or the arts
  • New private universities building their first admissions cycle

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the local SEO work runs

  1. 1

    Audit every listing

We check the Google Business Profile and directory listings for every branch against what should actually be shown.

  2. 2

    Complete and correct

Profiles are filled in fully and inconsistent details are corrected across every directory found.

  3. 3

    Build location pages

Each branch gets a page written for its own area, not a copy of the head office page with the address changed.

  4. 4

    Set up review handling

A simple process for requesting and responding to reviews is put in place with whoever is closest to the customer.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Map actions and enquiries per branch are reported, and branches falling behind are prioritised the next month.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need a listing for each department?
Only for those that receive visitors or run their own entrance tests. A listing that nobody staffs creates calls that go unanswered. Start with the admissions office and the main campuses, then add schools that need one.
Can we ask students to review us?
Check the platform's current rules before asking anyone. Reviews should come from people who really studied or visited, and offering a reward for a review is not allowed on the main platforms. We help write a neutral request and a reply guide.
What if two campuses have the same address?
Give each listing the building or block name and its own phone number. The map then separates them, and the family sees which gate belongs to which programme.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
