Restaurants · Lead generation

Answer the party enquiry before whoever is on the floor forgets it.

For a restaurant a lead is the group booking, the office lunch order and the catering enquiry, all of which arrive by phone and get lost. GullySales puts them in one place, gives your staff the questions and the set menu to send, and sets the follow-up before the date.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For restaurants

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The caller asks three things and nobody writes them down”

Date, headcount, whether a cake may be brought in. Then the server says somebody will call back, and nobody does.

  • “One enquiry is fifteen covers”

A kitty party organiser is worth more than a week of walk-ins, and the organiser rang three places before lunch.

  • “Your regulars are a lead source you already own”

The family that eats here every second Sunday has a birthday coming and no way of telling you about it.

What we do

What we deliver for restaurants.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. One place where every group enquiry lands

The landline, the WhatsApp number, the website form and the walk-in asking at the counter, all recorded in one book or sheet with who is handling it.

Result: A party enquiry stops depending on who picked up.

  2. Three questions and a script for whoever answers

Date, number of guests and occasion asked first, with what to say about the private area, the cake policy and the per-head menu, printed and kept at the counter.

Result: Any staff member can take the enquiry properly.

  3. A set menu ready to send on WhatsApp

Per-head menus at two or three price points, as an image that opens instantly on a phone, sent within the hour of an enquiry.

Result: The organiser has your offer while the decision is still open.

  4. A guest record with names, numbers and occasions

Collected at the bill with clear consent, through the billing software or a card, including birthdays and anniversaries where the guest offers them.

Result: You can invite a regular back on a quiet Tuesday.

  5. A follow-up call fixed before the date

A reminder to ring a party enquiry two days after the menu went out, and again a week before the date, with what to ask on each call.

Result: Bookings stop being lost to silence.

  6. Reporting on enquiries and bookings

Party enquiries received, menus sent, bookings confirmed and covers seated, with direct orders counted separately from app orders, against the baseline.

Result: The group bookings become a number instead of an impression.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where enquiries come from

Six ways a party or catering enquiry reaches your restaurant, and what to write down at each.

Calls on the landline or mobile
Write date, headcount, occasion and whether a cake is coming on a card before the call ends. Note which number was dialled, so the Maps listing and the printed menu can be told apart later.
WhatsApp on the restaurant number
Save the thread under the guest's name with the occasion in brackets. Reply with the per-head set menu image and ask the date before quoting, so a price check turns into a booking.
Call and Directions buttons on Google Maps
A call from the listing looks like any other call. Ask how they found you and tick Maps on the card, so you can see whether photographs and reviews bring bookings.
Swiggy and Zomato orders
The customer details sit with the app. Put a card in large orders with your direct number, and check each platform's current rules on what you may print on it.
Office lunch and catering enquiries
An admin asking for twenty lunch boxes wants a tasting, a rate per head and an invoice. Record the company, who approves the spend and the date of the next event. These buyers repeat.
Guests at the counter or table
Someone asking about the private area on the way out is a lead. Take the name, number and date on the card, and hand them the menu to carry home.

Who it is for

This is written for these restaurants.

  • Family restaurants and multi-cuisine dining
  • South Indian vegetarian restaurants and darshinis
  • Biryani, kebab and non-vegetarian specialists
  • Regional cuisine restaurants
  • Casual dining and bar restaurants
  • Quick service restaurants and food courts
  • Cloud kitchens and delivery-only brands
  • Office canteens and food service operators
  • Multi-outlet restaurant groups

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Nobody is assigned to answer the phone during service, so more enquiries would reach whoever is busiest and be lost.
  • You have no set menu or price for groups, so enquiries would get an answer made up at the counter.

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Our staff change every few months. Will a script survive that?
That is exactly why it is written down and kept at the counter. A new server can read three questions off a card on their first evening.
Who should be taking party enquiries?
Whoever picks up, with the three questions on a card at the counter. Waiting for the manager's shift is how an enquiry gets forgotten, and by then the organiser has rung two other places.
Somebody enquired on Instagram, then rang, then walked in. Is that three leads?
No, it is one guest with three contacts. Match on the mobile number before opening a new line, and add the new contact to the old one. Counting the guest three times flatters one source and hides which one finally got the booking.
How do we tell a real party enquiry from a price check?
Treat it as real once you have a date and a headcount. Until then it is a price check. Ask for both before you quote and write the enquiry down either way, since some price checks return with a date once they have your menu to compare.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
