Courier companies · Local SEO

A wrong pin sends every walk-in to the shop you left last year.

Local search for a courier counter is the map listing somebody opens with a parcel already in their hands. GullySales fixes the pin, the hours and the destinations on the profile, adds the packing and international services, and uses the brand name the way your agreement allows.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For courier companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “This search ends in a walk, not a click”

Somebody holding a box searches for a courier nearby and goes to the closest open counter with decent reviews. Distance and hours decide it.

  • “Sunday and late hours are a genuine advantage”

Most counters shut early and stay shut on Sunday. Saying on the listing that you are open brings people from well beyond your own street.

  • “The destinations belong on the listing itself”

A sender with a Gulf or Canada parcel wants to know before walking. Naming the countries you handle and the packing you offer separates you from the counter next door.

What we do

What we deliver for courier companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. The pin, the address and the hours corrected

The map pin placed on the counter's actual door, with current hours, Sunday position and the holiday closures kept up to date.

Result: People walking to you arrive at an open shutter.

  2. Destinations and services added to the profile

International parcel, document courier, cargo, packing, same-day city delivery and cash on delivery, each listed as its own service.

Result: A sender knows you handle their parcel before setting out.

  3. Photographs of the counter, the packing area and the board

Real pictures of the shop front, the weighing counter and the packing table, so a first-time sender recognises the place on the street.

Result: Somebody looking for you finds the right shutter.

  4. Special hours set for the festival weeks

Extended hours before Raksha Bandhan and Diwali and the last booking dates put into the profile as posts.

Result: The queue spreads over more days.

  5. Brand naming checked against the agreement

The exact form of the name the franchisor wants on a listing, confirmed with them and used consistently across every directory.

Result: The listing cannot become a franchise problem.

  6. Review requests and replies on the profile

A request sent with each delivery confirmation and a written reply to every review, including the ones about the network.

Result: The listing shows a counter that answers.

  7. Calls, messages and direction requests reported

What the listing produced, compared with the figures recorded before the profile was corrected.

Result: You can see walk-ins traced to the map.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What Google weighs here

How a person with a parcel nearby finds a courier counter, and what to fix first.

Courier service as the category
Set Courier service as the main category, and add Shipping service or Packaging supply only if the counter does that work. Do not use cargo company unless you move cargo, since it brings the wrong searcher.
Services as customers ask
List documents, domestic parcels, international, cash on delivery and packing as separate services. Say what you do not take, such as certain liquids, in the description, so nobody queues with a box you must refuse.
Landmark and counter entry
Name the landmark people use, such as the bus stand or the speed post office, and photograph the board and the counter from the road. A person carrying a parcel gives up on a pin that is a lane away.
Brand franchise locator
If you run a counter for a national brand, check its franchise or counter locator for your address, hours and phone. An old address there is the commonest reason a customer reaches a closed shutter.
Justdial and Sulekha
Claim both, with the same shop name, number and hours as Maps. Add your pickup area if you collect from offices, and keep the pickup number apart from the counter number.
Complaints without consignment details
Reply once to a lost parcel complaint, ask the customer to call you, and do not post consignment numbers or addresses in public. Resolve it on the phone and ask them to update the review if it is settled.

Who it is for

This is written for these courier companies.

  • Franchisee counters of national courier brands
  • Independent domestic courier companies
  • International courier and parcel consolidators
  • Document and legal courier services
  • Same-day and intra-city delivery services
  • E-commerce shipping partners for online sellers
  • Cargo and heavy parcel services
  • Packing and moving plus courier counters

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • Your counter is about to move, so the pin should wait for the new address.
  • You have no one to check the profile after a customer posts a complaint.
  • Your franchise agreement limits how the brand name may appear on a listing and you have not read it.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Write down what is true

Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.

  2. 2

    Search as your buyer does

We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.

  3. 3

    Fix the profile first

Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.

  4. 4

Build the branch pages and match the listings

Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.

  5. 5

    Ask, reply and measure

We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

We moved the counter. What has to change?
The pin first, then the address everywhere it appears: the listing, the directories, the invoices and a note on the old shutter. A pin left behind sends people to a closed shop, and most of them will not search a second time.
Should the listing use the brand name?
Only in the form your franchise agreement allows. Ask your franchisor for the exact wording they want on a listing and use it everywhere. A listing that breaches the agreement is a larger problem than a missing one.
A customer says a parcel is lost and has posted on our profile. What should we reply?
Apologise in one line, say you are checking, and give a number to call. Do not post the consignment number, the address or the parcel contents. Trace it with the brand or carrier first. If it is found, update the customer and ask them, politely, to revise the review.
Can we list pickup points inside other shops?
Only if your staff are there during listed hours and the public can book from that desk. A box inside a stationery shop that you do not staff is not a business location by Google's rules. Describe such points on your website and in the pickup description instead.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
