Industrial equipment manufacturers · Sales training

Train the team to handle a technical, multi-decision-maker sale.

Sales training for an industrial manufacturer teaches the team to handle both a technical buyer and a commercial buyer on the same deal, and to quote fast without sacrificing accuracy.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What sales training means

Sales training teaches a sales team a skill it does not yet have, such as handling a specific objection or running a proper site visit, usually through a structured session. GullySales runs these sessions around real objections and calls from your business rather than generic sales theory.

For industrial equipment manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Technical and commercial talks need different skills”

The same salesperson often needs to switch between specification detail and commercial terms within one deal.

  • “Quotation speed is a trained discipline”

Staff trained to produce a complete quotation quickly, without errors, keep the manufacturer in consideration.

  • “Upselling AMC happens at delivery”

Staff trained to offer a maintenance contract when equipment is delivered catch a buyer already thinking about upkeep.

What we do

What we deliver for industrial equipment manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Technical and commercial conversation training

Training for sales engineers on switching between specification detail and commercial terms within the same deal.

Result: The same person can hold both sides of a conversation confidently.

  2. Quotation accuracy and speed drill

Practice sessions on producing a complete, accurate quotation quickly, using real recent RFQs.

Result: A quotation goes out fast without errors that cost credibility.

  3. AMC upsell prompt at delivery

Training for the delivery team on offering a maintenance contract at the point equipment is handed over.

Result: A buyer already thinking about upkeep hears the offer at the right moment.

  4. Live RFQ review sessions

A review of a few real, live RFQs in the weeks after training, checking how the process was actually followed.

Result: Training gets tested against real deals, not just a classroom exercise.

  5. Refresher session for new sales engineers

A structured refresher covering the RFQ process and quotation standards for anyone new to the team.

Result: A new sales engineer starts at the same standard as the rest of the team.

How the result is measured

  • Skill assessment scores
  • Objection handling improvement
  • Conversion rate after training

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Situations to practise

Six conversations an equipment maker's sales team should practise, and what good looks like.

The technical buyer and the commercial buyer on one deal
Practise two versions of the same offer: duty, capacity, materials and motor rating for the engineer; price, payment terms and warranty for purchase. Ask who signs.
An RFQ arrives with half the specification
List what to ask before quoting: duty cycle, power supply, site conditions, applicable standards. Practise sending the questions in one message, not in pieces.
A competitor's machine is cheaper
Compare on service life, spares, energy use and after-sales support, not purchase price alone. Ask what the other quote leaves out.
The buyer wants a reference in the same industry
Choose customers who have agreed to be named. Offer a plant visit. Practise checking permission first and never inventing a similar customer.
The handover at commissioning
Explain the AMC scope while the engineer is on site and the machine is running. Practise it as part of the handover, not as a later sales call.
A breakdown call from an existing customer
Ask serial number, fault description and a photo or video. Name the engineer. Practise a first reply that takes the pressure off the caller.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the sales training work runs

  1. 1

    Assess current skill levels

We review the team's current strengths and gaps, by observing calls and talking to managers.

  2. 2

    Build the curriculum

Content is developed around your product, customers and sales cycle.

  3. 3

    Schedule and deliver

Sessions run on a set calendar, with practice built into each one.

  4. 4

    Check understanding

Short knowledge checks confirm what has actually stuck.

  5. 5

    Review and refresh

The curriculum is revisited periodically and refresher sessions are run for the wider team.

  • Burhani Hydroline

    Situation
The website was dated. Menus were hard to follow, pages were slow, and it did not work properly on a phone, which is where a buyer looks first.
    What we did
    • Research before design
    • Wireframes and prototypes
    • The full product catalogue
    • An online checkout
    Result
No numbers were recorded for this engagement. The work is described in full in the case study.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

#257, 3rd floor, Sri Nanjundeshwara Complex, Nagarbhavi 8th Block, Outer Ring Road. How we work.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Who needs this training?
Sales engineers and account managers who handle RFQs and client relationships directly.
How long does this take?
A structured session on the process, followed by review of a few live RFQs over the following weeks.
Should service engineers be in the room?
Yes, at least for commissioning and the AMC part. They meet the customer after the sale and hear the real complaints. A sales engineer and a service engineer practising the handover together catch promises that service cannot keep.
Our engineers are strong on technicals but weak on talking about money. What then?
Treat them as two skills. Give engineers separate practice on price and payment terms, and have someone from accounts explain how the terms work in the business. Many over-discount because no one has practised the price conversation with them.
How is this different from a general B2B marketing agency?
We write for the engineer's search, not the brand story. A buyer looking for a press wants the tonnage, stroke length and certification on the page, and a quotation within the RFQ window. The follow-up then runs through a cycle that can last months.
Do you help with trade show and exhibition presence?
We can build the material and follow-up process for exhibitions; the stand and attendance decisions stay with you.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
