Packaging manufacturers · Email marketing

A quotation sent in March is still worth a message in June.

Email and WhatsApp do two jobs for a packaging unit: chasing the quotations and samples that went quiet, and staying in front of buyers between orders. GullySales rebuilds the list from your quotation and dispatch records, then runs both, written for the person who has to read them.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What email marketing means

Email marketing is sending planned messages to a list of past and prospective customers who have agreed to hear from you. It suits offers, updates and staying in touch with someone who is not ready to buy yet. GullySales writes and schedules these emails and tracks who opens, clicks and enquires.

For packaging manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Every dieline you paid for is a warm contact”

A die and plates cost money whether the order came or not. The brand that approved a dieline and went silent is the best name on your list.

  • “A price revision is a note, not an argument”

When kraft rates move, a short message to each running account, sent before the invoice, keeps the discussion on paper and out of a shouting match.

  • “Festival buyers are booked months early”

Sweet shops, dry fruit sellers and gifting firms fix their rigid box orders long before Diwali, so a mail going out in October is already late.

What we do

What we deliver for packaging manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A contact list rebuilt from quotations and dispatches

Every buyer you have quoted, sampled or supplied, pulled out of files and phones into one list with the pack, the quantity and the date.

Result: You can reach every brand you have ever worked for.

  2. A follow-up sequence for quotations and samples

Dated messages against each quotation and sample, with a call scheduled alongside and the reason logged when it ends.

Result: Samples stop dying quietly on somebody's desk.

  3. Price revision notes drafted in advance

A ready message explaining a board or film rate change, tied to the revision terms in your quotation, to go out the day rates move.

Result: Buyers hear it from you before they hear it from the invoice.

  4. Festival reminders timed for gifting buyers

A dated run of messages to sweet shops, gifting firms and dry fruit sellers, going out months ahead of the season with samples offered.

Result: Seasonal orders are booked while there is still machine time.

  5. WhatsApp templates kept to consent

Approved message templates on a business number, sent to people who wrote to you, with stopping made easy and recorded.

Result: The channel your team depends on stays usable.

  6. A count of orders traced to follow-up

Replies, revived quotations and orders attributed to email and WhatsApp, reported against the baseline we record at the start.

Result: The follow-up is judged on orders it brought back.

How the result is measured

  • Open rate
  • Click rate
  • Enquiries from email

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What must be in place first

What a packaging unit needs in place before it mails brands and buyers.

A list from dielines, quotations and dispatches
Pull the contact from every dieline, sample and dispatch record, with the box or pouch specification and the last order date. These buyers already know your print.
Consent from the quotation or sample slip
Be able to show, under India's data protection law, that each person agreed to receive your mail. Add a permission line to the quotation and sample forms and record the date.
A sender with sample photos ready
Mail from a named person at your own domain and link to photographs of printed work for similar products. A brand manager judges print quality by looking.
Segments by packaging type and buyer size
Keep corrugated box buyers, mono carton buyers, pouch buyers and small D2C brands apart. A pharma carton buyer and a courier box buyer ask different questions.
Price notes apart from offers
A raw material price revision is a business notice, not an advertisement. Keep it on a separate list from festival and new-product mail, with an unsubscribe on each.
A reply path to someone who can quote a size
Replies go to a person who can take the dimensions and give a rate. A buyer who sends a size and hears nothing goes to the next supplier.

Who it is for

This is written for these packaging manufacturers.

  • Corrugated box and carton manufacturers
  • Mono carton and printed folding box makers
  • Flexible packaging, laminate and pouch manufacturers
  • Label and sticker printers
  • Paper bag and paper cup manufacturers
  • Rigid box and premium gift packaging makers
  • Paper and paper products converters
  • Industrial and export packaging suppliers
  • E-commerce and courier packaging suppliers

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have no list of past buyers and dielines, and a purchased list of addresses brings complaints and not jobs.
  • You change your rates by the day and cannot send a revision note without an argument, so email would add friction.
  • Nobody will answer replies from the list, and a mail that invites a reply must have a person behind it.

How it works

How the email marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your list

We review who is on the list, how they got there, what they agreed to, and how long since they last heard from you.

  2. 2

    Audit past sends

We read past campaign reports, your sending domain settings and any spam complaints to see what has and has not worked.

  3. 3

    Segment and plan

The list is split into groups and a sending calendar is agreed, with a rule for unsubscribes and quiet addresses.

  4. 4

    Write and set up

Emails are written, checked and scheduled in your email tool. Welcome and nurture emails are set to send on a trigger where that fits.

  5. 5

    Measure and adjust

We read clicks, replies, enquiries and complaints by segment, and change subject lines, timing and content to match.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do purchase managers read email?
For a rate, a dispatch note or a revision, yes. For a newsletter, no. Build the programme on messages a purchase officer has a reason to open, and keep WhatsApp for what is genuinely urgent.
Can we send offers on WhatsApp to everyone who once enquired?
With care. Keep to people who wrote to you, keep the message useful, and make stopping simple. A broadcast list built from scraped numbers gets the number blocked, and your team loses the channel it runs on.
Should we buy a list of FMCG and D2C brand contacts?
Buying a list brings addresses nobody agreed to share and many are outdated. Research the right person at each brand, write once about one product, and offer a way to stop. Build the list from replies, samples and fair visitors.
Will images of printed boxes cause mail to go to spam?
A mail made mostly of pictures often gets filtered. Write a short note, add two small compressed photos and link to a gallery page. Keep your sending address the same each time, and ask one buyer whether it arrived.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
