Water treatment solutions providers · Buyer journey

Map the path from a bad-tasting glass of water to a signed installation.

The buyer journey for a water treatment company starts with a specific symptom, such as scale or an odour. It moves through comparing two or three quotes after a site survey, and ends in an installation with an ongoing maintenance decision. GullySales maps this so no stage relies on a single follow-up call.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer journey means

The buyer journey is the sequence of steps a customer actually takes, from first hearing about you to deciding to buy, which is rarely a single visit or call. GullySales maps this sequence for your business and checks that something useful happens at each step instead of only at the final call.

For water treatment solutions providers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The journey starts with a symptom, not a technology name”

Almost nobody searches for a specific filtration technology first. They search for why their water smells or why their pipes are scaling, and the content needs to meet them there.

  • “The site survey is the real decision-making moment”

Much of the buyer's confidence is built or lost during the survey itself, where a knowledgeable technician answering questions on the spot often decides the sale.

  • “The maintenance decision is a second, separate journey”

A buyer who purchased a system still has to decide whether to renew a maintenance contract, and that decision is shaped by service experience, not the original sales pitch.

What we do

What we deliver for water treatment solutions providers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Symptom-to-installation journey map

A map from a symptom such as scale or odour, through the site survey and quote, to a signed installation.

Result: You see exactly where a buyer stalls before deciding.

  2. Household and commercial journeys mapped separately

Two separate maps, since a household buyer often decides quickly while a commercial or apartment decision moves through a committee.

Result: Each buyer type is followed through the steps that actually apply to them.

  3. Survey-stage confidence checklist

A checklist for what the site survey should cover and answer, since much of the buyer's confidence is built there.

Result: The survey itself becomes a stronger reason to choose the company.

  4. Separate maintenance renewal journey

A distinct map for the decision to renew a maintenance contract, shaped by service experience rather than the original sale.

Result: Renewal is treated as its own decision, not assumed to follow automatically.

  5. Journey map kept current with the sales process

The map updated whenever the survey, quote or installation process changes, so it never describes an outdated way of working.

Result: The map keeps matching how the business actually sells.

How the result is measured

  • Drop-off rate by step
  • Time from first contact to sale
  • Steps with no content

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Stages of the buyer's journey

From scale on a tap to a signed maintenance contract, the steps a water treatment buyer takes.

The symptom
Scale on taps, a smell, a stain or a notice from the Pollution Control Board starts it. Write one page per symptom, naming the likely cause and the test that confirms it.
Water test and enquiry
The buyer sends a sample or asks for a test. Record the source, such as borewell, tanker or municipal supply, and the symptom, so the right person calls back.
The site survey
The survey decides the quote. Check the source, tank, space and power at the site, photograph what you find, and write the findings in plain words for the buyer.
Quote comparison
The buyer compares two or three quotes with different brands and designs. State the problem, the plant capacity, what each unit does and the warranty in the same order a buyer would compare them.
Installation and first reading
The plant is fitted and the buyer checks the result. Test the water after commissioning, hand over the report, and show how to read the readings and what to do if they change.
The maintenance contract
This is a separate decision, made when a filter or membrane falls due. Record the due date, remind the customer, and state what the AMC covers and what it excludes.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer journey work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the sales process

We walk through how a sale actually happens today, from the person who first answers an enquiry to the one who closes it.

  2. 2

    Audit the data

Website analytics, call logs and CRM records are pulled together to see where people actually drop out, not where they are assumed to.

  3. 3

    Interview buyers and staff

A handful of recent customers and the team who speak to them fill in the reasons behind the numbers.

  4. 4

    Build the map

Stages, touchpoints and drop-off points are set out in one document everyone can read the same way.

  5. 5

    Fix and measure

Each fix is implemented against the stage it addresses, and the drop-off rate at that stage is checked afterwards.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Does the journey differ for household versus commercial buyers?
Yes, a household buyer usually decides in days, while a commercial or apartment complex decision can take weeks and involve a committee.
How can we shorten the journey?
Mainly by scheduling the site survey faster and following up on the quote promptly, since delay is where most deals are lost.
Who else is involved besides the person who called us?
In a home it can be the spouse. In an apartment, the association secretary, a committee and sometimes the building's plumber. In a factory, the plant head, purchase and a compliance officer. Ask on the first call who approves and who will maintain the plant, and include them in the survey.
A buyer took our quote after the survey and went quiet. What should we check?
First read the quote: did it state the problem, the plant, the maintenance and what is excluded? Then ask once whether another quote raised a question you could answer. Record the reply, so you can see whether quotes lose on price or on clarity.
How do we compete against unbranded local installers on price?
Show the running cost over five years, not just the plant price. Membrane life, salt use, power and reject water add up, and a facility manager can compare those. A cheaper plant with no service record loses once the committee sees the whole picture.
Should we publish the water test reports from our installations?
Yes, with the customer's permission. A before-and-after report showing TDS and hardness against the IS 10500 drinking water limits is the proof a committee trusts. We remove the address unless the customer agrees to be named.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
