Medical device manufacturers · Buyer journey

Whoever helped write the specification has already half won the order.

The buyer journey for a medical device runs from a department asking for equipment to a purchase order signed by somebody who never used it. A committee decides, and a distributor is often in the middle. GullySales maps the stages and shows you where your device drops out.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

What buyer journey means

The buyer journey is the sequence of steps a customer actually takes, from first hearing about you to deciding to buy, which is rarely a single visit or call. GullySales maps this sequence for your business and checks that something useful happens at each step instead of only at the final call.

For medical device manufacturers

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The specification is written before the notice is published”

Somebody drafted the technical specification in that tender document. If a competitor's feature list is sitting in it, your quotation is a formality. The work in this journey happens weeks before the enquiry you can see.

  • “The trial placement is the real demonstration”

A committee believes a machine that ran in their own ward for a fortnight far more than any presentation. Getting a unit placed, and getting the nurse who used it to say it was easy, is a stage to plan for rather than a favour to ask.

  • “The order waits on the budget, not on your follow-up”

A hospital that has already decided in your favour may not raise the purchase order until the capital budget opens. Chasing hard at that point irritates them. Knowing the cycle lets you have the paperwork ready on the day it does.

What we do

What we deliver for medical device manufacturers.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. The journey drawn for one device and one hospital type

Stages from the department's requirement note through the biomedical check, the specification, the quote or tender, the demonstration and the committee, to the purchase order.

Result: Your team can name the stage every open account is sitting in.

  2. The three roles named at each stage

Who cares at which point, the department head, the biomedical engineer or the purchase officer, and what each one needs to see before the account moves.

Result: The right document goes to the right person at the right time.

  3. A parallel journey for the distributor route

The same map redrawn for a sale that runs through a distributor, where your visibility ends at a point somebody else controls.

Result: You can see which stage your distributors actually lose you at.

  4. Regulatory documents placed at the stage they are asked for

Registration and certification evidence prepared for the point in the journey where a biomedical engineer looks for it, rather than buried in a brochure.

Result: You are not removed from the list before anyone opens the specification.

  5. Drop-out counted stage by stage

How many accounts reached the demonstration, how many reached the committee and how many became an order, measured against the baseline recorded before work started.

Result: You can tell whether the problem is reach, the demo or the price.

How the result is measured

  • Drop-off rate by step
  • Time from first contact to sale
  • Steps with no content

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. 01 · First

    Free audit call

90 minutes with whoever handles your enquiries: how they arrive, how fast they are answered, where they are lost.

  2. 02 · After the call

    Written, scored report

Six areas scored, fixes ranked by return and cost. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come with it, in writing.

  3. 03 · Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. 04 · After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

Usually the cheapest one on the report: reply time, a follow-up sequence or the marketing-to-sales handover.

  5. 05 · As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. 06 · At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the work runs for medical device manufacturers

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at how clearly your certifications and specifications are shown, how distributor and direct enquiries are tracked, and how fast a demo gets scheduled.

  2. 2

Build trust before the demo request

Certifications, clinical evidence and clear specification pages that let a biomedical engineer shortlist you without a phone call.

  3. 3

Speed up the demonstration and quote process

A routine for scheduling demonstrations and following up distributor enquiries so neither waits behind the other.

  4. 4

    Bring in hospitals and distributors

Search visibility, exhibition follow-up and outreach built around the device category and buyer type you want more of.

  5. 5

    Keep the account

After-sales service tracking, spare parts reminders and tender renewal follow-up so a first order becomes a repeat one.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Why do we keep losing after a demonstration that went well?
Because the demonstration answers the clinician and the committee is answering three other questions: who services it in this city, what the consumable costs over five years, and whether the paperwork is in order. Win the demonstration and lose those three and the order goes elsewhere.
How is the journey different when a distributor is involved?
You lose sight of it after the enquiry. The distributor holds the hospital relationship and decides which of his lines to push. Map that route separately, and agree what he reports back, or you will be guessing about your own pipeline.
Should our product pages state the device's risk class?
Yes. Under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, each device falls in class A, B, C or D, and a biomedical engineer checks that class against your licence. Showing both on the page saves a round of emails before the demo.
Can we name the hospitals that already use our device?
Only with each hospital's written permission, and stated as a fact rather than an endorsement. Many hospitals refuse, so we plan the page to work without names. An installation count by city or specialty is a safer form of proof when you can verify it.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile are the quickest to show, because the enquiries already exist. Ads can follow soon after follow-up is in place. SEO and content take longer. How long each takes depends on your business, and the audit tells you which applies to you. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
