Franchise systems · Buyer persona

The candidate who signs and the customer who books are different people.

A buyer persona for a franchisor is a written description of who is buying, and a franchise system has at least two: the candidate weighing a unit against four other brands, and the customer choosing a nearby outlet. GullySales builds each persona from your own enquiry records and from conversations with your franchisees, so that the pages, calls and campaigns speak to the right person.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What buyer persona means

A buyer persona is a plain description of the kind of customer who actually buys from you. It includes what they search, what worries them and who else they ask before deciding. GullySales builds this from real enquiries and past sales rather than a generic template, then uses it to write every page and advert.

For franchise systems

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The corporate leaver and the second-unit owner ask different questions”

One candidate is leaving a salaried job with savings and no operating experience. Another already runs a unit and wants a neighbouring territory. The first needs reassurance about training and support; the second wants to know about the area developer terms. Treating them as one audience gives both a weak answer.

  • “The spouse or family partner is in the room without being on the form”

Franchise decisions are made at a kitchen table, with a partner or parent asking about risk and working capital. The enquiry form names one person, yet the pack, the call and the follow-up are judged by two. A persona that ignores the second reader loses deals that looked healthy.

  • “Customers choose a unit by situation, not by brand loyalty”

A parent booking a tutoring centre, a homeowner calling a cleaning service and a runner joining a studio are each in a particular moment. Their persona is built from the trigger, the distance they will travel and the doubt they need settled, not from an age band.

  • “Your franchisees already know the persona and nobody wrote it down”

Owners meet customers daily and have been through validation calls from the other side. That knowledge sits in a handful of heads. Without a record, head office writes personas from guesswork, and the campaign speaks to a buyer who does not exist.

What we do

What we deliver for franchise systems.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A candidate persona set from your own records

Past enquiries, signed owners and dropped candidates reviewed to describe the two or three kinds of candidate who actually reach your pipeline, with their capital, motive and objections.

Result: The development team can name the candidate in front of them and what they need to hear.

  2. Interviews with franchisees about why they signed

Structured conversations with a spread of existing owners about what they compared, who they asked and what nearly stopped them, written up without invented quotes.

Result: The persona rests on what owners said, not on assumption.

  3. The household decision-maker mapped

A note of who else takes part in the decision, what that person worries about and which documents and calls address them.

Result: Follow-up reaches the person who can actually say yes or no.

  4. A customer persona for each unit type

For each format you run, the situation that brings a customer in, the distance they travel and the doubt to settle before they book.

Result: Local pages and posts start from a real situation.

  5. Objection lists for both audiences

The questions that stall a candidate and those that stall a customer, collected from calls and listings and set against the honest answer.

Result: Callers and franchisees stop improvising the hard answers.

  6. Personas wired into the pages and call scripts

Each persona attached to the development pages, the discovery day agenda and the follow-up sequence it applies to, with the language reviewed by your counsel where it touches performance.

Result: The personas are used, not filed away.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiry match to persona
  • Conversion rate by persona
  • Content aligned to persona

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

The numbers this work is meant to move, such as enquiries, quotations, orders, visits or renewals, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is a reply, a follow-up, a page, a listing or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the buyer persona work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the current view

We start with how your team currently describes the customer, since the gap between belief and reality is often the finding itself.

  2. 2

    Audit past enquiries and sales

We look at recent enquiries and closed deals to see who actually bought, not who was assumed to buy.

  3. 3

    Interview customers and staff

Short, structured conversations surface the real language, worries and triggers behind a purchase.

  4. 4

    Build the personas

Findings are written into short, usable persona documents rather than a long report.

  5. 5

    Apply to your marketing

We show exactly where each persona should change a page, an ad or a script you already have.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • Hours that fit your day, agreed up front

Which hours we overlap with yours is settled before any work starts, so you know when a reply is coming and when it is not.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

How many personas does a franchise system need?
Start with two or three candidate personas and one customer persona per unit format. More than that becomes a document nobody reads. Add a persona only when it changes what you would say, publish or ask, and drop one that does not.
Can you write a persona without interviewing our franchisees?
It can be drafted from enquiry records, but it will be thinner. Existing owners know why they signed, who they asked and what nearly put them off. A short conversation with a spread of owners is the best source, and we ask for it.
Should a persona include the income a candidate expects?
Record what the candidate says they hope for, as a note on their motive. Do not repeat or answer it with an earnings figure. Anything on performance stays inside your Item 19 and goes to your franchise counsel before it is used.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
