Marketplace platforms · Local SEO

Show up for the service and the neighbourhood, in the map and in the results.

Local SEO for a marketplace means making the platform visible for a service in a specific area, in the map pack and in ordinary results. GullySales works on location pages, Google Business Profile and the way provider coverage is described, one locality at a time.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means

Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For marketplace platforms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The buyer searches the neighbourhood, not the city”

Someone needing a plumber types the locality they live in. A page that says it covers Bengaluru in general loses to one showing providers who work in Koramangala. Location pages must be built at the level the buyer thinks, and filled with providers who really cover that spot.

  • “A marketplace has no single shop front for the map”

A map listing normally represents one business at one address. A platform hosts a whole set of providers. Whether and how the platform appears on a map, through an office, a service area or a provider-owned profile, needs a decision that follows Google's current guidelines.

  • “Coverage claims must match who is live”

A page promising same-area service with no provider in that area sends the buyer to a failed booking and a bad review. Location pages should list only localities with active providers, and the list should shrink or grow as supply does.

  • “Providers' own profiles may agree or collide”

A provider with a map profile and a marketplace profile may show two different phone numbers and descriptions. The buyer calls the direct number and the platform loses the booking. Agreeing which profile points where, and how the platform is mentioned, avoids the split.

What we do

What we deliver for marketplace platforms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A locality page set

One page per service and neighbourhood the platform really serves, showing the providers, how a booking works and the areas next door.

Result: A page for each served locality, with its live providers.

  2. Google Business Profile guidance for the platform

A decision on whether and how to hold a profile for the platform, and what each field should say, checked against the current rules.

Result: A written decision and a filled profile where it applies.

  3. Provider profile standards

A short guide telling providers how to write their area, services and name so their marketplace page and any map presence agree.

Result: One guide handed to every new provider.

  4. Coverage rules for pages

A rule for when a locality page is published, paused or merged, tied to how many providers are active in it.

Result: A written coverage rule linked to supply.

  5. Review prompts that name the locality

A request sent after a booking that asks the buyer to describe the job and the area, so reviews carry the words other buyers search.

Result: A review message used after every completed booking.

How the result is measured

  • Map pack ranking
  • Local search visibility
  • Enquiries by locality

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the local SEO work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit every listing

We check the Google Business Profile and directory listings for every branch against what should actually be shown.

  2. 2

    Complete and correct

Profiles are filled in fully and inconsistent details are corrected across every directory found.

  3. 3

    Build location pages

Each branch gets a page written for its own area, not a copy of the head office page with the address changed.

  4. 4

    Set up review handling

A simple process for requesting and responding to reviews is put in place with whoever is closest to the customer.

  5. 5

    Report and adjust

Map actions and enquiries per branch are recorded, and the branches falling behind come first in the next round of work.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need a map listing for every locality?
No. A map profile represents a real business presence, and the rules are set by the platform. We help you decide what fits your set-up and check the current guidelines.
What if a locality has only one provider?
Hold the page back or show it with a clear note and nearby alternatives. A page with a single provider should not read as a full choice.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
