Marketplace platforms · Search engine optimisation

Turn every service, product and locality you host into a page a buyer can find.

SEO for a marketplace means building search pages for the services or goods the platform hosts, and keeping them useful as listings change. GullySales works on the page structure, the listing content and the internal links so search engines and buyers both find a real choice.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For marketplace platforms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A marketplace has more pages to write than a brand site”

Each service in each locality is a search a buyer makes: AC repair in Indiranagar, CNC job work in Peenya, a wedding photographer in Jaipur. Writing these by hand never finishes. The page template, the data behind it and the rules for when a page is worth publishing decide the result.

  • “Thin listing pages hurt the pages that are good”

A page with one provider and a single line of text gives a searcher nothing. Publishing hundreds of these lowers the trust in the site as a whole. Pages should appear when real providers, real details and real reviews exist behind them, and stay out of the index until then.

  • “Provider profiles are search pages too”

A person searching a provider by name or shop lands on the profile. If it has the services, the area covered and genuine reviews, it converts. If it is an empty card, the visitor leaves. Provider profiles need as much care as the landing pages above them.

  • “Expired listings leave dead ends”

A used-vehicle or rental item sold last month still ranks, and the buyer who clicks finds nothing. A rule for what an expired page shows, such as similar listings in the same area, keeps the visit useful and the page worth keeping.

What we do

What we deliver for marketplace platforms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A page-type plan

A plan listing the page types the marketplace needs, such as service, locality, provider and listing pages, with the search each one serves.

Result: A list of page types, each tied to a search a buyer makes.

  2. Templates with real content rules

Page templates that pull in providers, prices where shown, and reviews, with a rule for the minimum content before a page is published.

Result: A written publish rule for each page type.

  3. Internal linking between services and localities

Links from a service to its localities and back, and from a locality to nearby ones, so each page is reachable and related pages support one another.

Result: A link map from the home page down to a provider profile.

  4. An expired-listing rule

A defined treatment for sold, closed or paused listings: what the page says, what it links to and when it leaves the index.

Result: A written rule applied to every expired listing.

  5. Technical checks for large sites

A review of crawl paths, duplicate pages from filters and sort orders, and the speed of listing pages on mobile.

Result: A list of technical issues with the pages they affect.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Can we simply generate a page for every locality?
Only where providers and listings exist behind the page. Pages with nothing to show do not serve a buyer. We help you set the rule for when a page goes live.
Does SEO replace paid ads for a marketplace?
They do different work. Search pages bring buyers who are already looking, while paid ads open a new locality. We look at which one fits each stage of your launch.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
