FinTech startups · Follow up systems

Call the person who stopped at the document screen before they forget why they came.

A follow-up system for a FinTech startup is the set of calls, messages and reminders that reach a prospect after they stop partway. Money products lose buyers at each step of verification, so the follow-up differs by step. GullySales writes the sequence and the scripts for each one.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What follow up systems means

A follow-up system is the set routine for calling, messaging or emailing an enquiry more than once, since most buyers do not decide on the first conversation. GullySales sets the number and timing of follow-ups so an undecided buyer keeps hearing from you until they decide either way.

For FinTech startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Each stopping point has a different reason”

Someone who left at identity proof may not have the document to hand. Someone who left at the bank link may be nervous. A single reminder text addresses neither.

  • “Silence after an application feels like rejection”

A merchant who submits details and hears nothing assumes the worst or assumes a scam. A short acknowledgement that says what happens next calms that doubt.

  • “The caller must know what the app shows”

A follow-up call that quotes a limit the app does not display destroys the trust the call was meant to rebuild. Scripts must match the live product.

  • “Too many reminders read as pressure”

A person nervous about money does not respond to a stream of messages. A clear stop point and an easy way to say no keep the contact respectful.

What we do

What we deliver for FinTech startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A sequence for each drop-off stage

Call and message steps for those who stopped at sign-up, KYC, bank link or first payment.

Result: A written sequence for every stopping point.

  2. Call scripts that match the app

Opening lines, answers to the common doubts and a clean exit, checked against the live product.

Result: Scripts the caller and the app agree on.

  3. Acknowledgement messages

Plain notes sent on submission and on each status change, saying what happens next.

Result: Applicants always know the next step.

  4. A pause and stop rule

A cap on attempts, a note when a person asks not to be contacted and a clean removal from the list.

Result: A rule that protects the buyer and the brand.

  5. A review of who replied

A look at which step, wording and channel brought people back.

Result: A list of the follow-ups worth keeping.

How the result is measured

  • Follow-up completion rate
  • Average number of follow-ups before close
  • Enquiries closed after repeat follow-up

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

The messages and notes that match each place a prospect stopped.

Acknowledgement after the application
A message confirming receipt and saying what happens next in the company's own words, with no promise of approval.
Document-stage prompt
Sent to a person stopped at the document screen, naming the document and showing where in the app to upload it.
Call outcome
The caller records reached, not reached or asked to call later, so the system stops once the person has said so.
Pause and stop rule
The date after which a silent prospect is left alone, and the word that ends contact on the spot.
Reply log by stage
A record of who answered which message, so the team sees which stage prompts get a reply and which do not.

Who it is for

This is written for these FinTech startups.

  • Payment gateway and UPI collection startups for small merchants
  • Digital lending and credit-line startups working with an NBFC or bank partner
  • Accounting, invoicing and bill-payment tools for MSMEs
  • Expense, payout and corporate-card startups for finance teams
  • Wealth and investing app startups working under a licensed entity
  • Neobanking and salary-account startups for gig and blue-collar workers
  • Remittance and cross-border payment startups for exporters
  • Regtech and KYC infrastructure startups selling to banks

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have no record of where each person stopped, so follow-up would be generic and repeat what they know
  • Nobody is cleared to speak about the product on a call, so a follow-up would invite questions you cannot answer

How it works

How the follow up systems work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Measure today's reply time

From your recent enquiries, we set the time each arrived against its first reply, using the call log, chats, form entries and portal panel. We also count the follow-ups each one got.

  2. 2

    Agree targets and the sequence

We set reply targets and the follow-up sequence with your team, based on its real hours and workload.

  3. 3

Write the templates and first-call questions

The first reply, the quote follow-up and the last attempt are written in your voice and loaded as quick replies. The first-call questions are agreed with your best salesperson.

  4. 4

    Set ownership, tasks and alerts

Named owners, cover for leave and CRM or sheet tasks go live. App alerts, such as IndiaMART's, are switched on for the right phones.

  5. 5

    Track and adjust

Reply time and follow-up completion are reported against the baseline, and the routine is changed where it is not kept. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 2, qualification. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should follow-up be a call or a message?
Use both, in the language the person chose. A call suits a stuck document. A message suits a reminder with a link. Your record shows which the person answers.
How many times should we follow up?
Set a limit you are comfortable defending and stop when asked. GullySales writes the rule with you rather than quoting a number, since it depends on the product and the buyer.
Can we message people who only installed the app?
Check the consent you collected and the platform's current rules before sending. Where permission is unclear, ask first or leave the person alone. Your adviser can confirm what the data law needs.
A prospect said they do not want to be contacted. What do we do?
Stop at once and mark the record so every list and tool honours it. Contact after a refusal damages trust and breaks the consent you hold. Keep the refusal on file with the date, and check the current rules on calls and messages.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.

Your next practical step

Tell us what you are trying to grow, and we will read it before we call.

Eight short steps, mostly taps. Skip anything you would rather answer on the call.
