FinTech startups · Search engine optimisation

Let a buyer searching for a money task find your product page before a bank's.

SEO for a FinTech startup is making pages that answer the questions a business owner types when a money task is going wrong. It is slow ground against banks and aggregators, so the pages must be specific. GullySales works on page structure, topics and the technical basics, and promises no ranking.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For FinTech startups

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Banks and comparison sites own the broad words”

A startup will not outrank a bank on a general word like loan or payments. The opening is the narrow task, such as reconciling UPI settlements against a ledger or paying contract workers on a set date.

  • “A trust page is also a search page”

Buyers search for the company name plus words like safe, genuine or complaint. If the site has no page on the partner, security and grievance route, other sites answer that search instead.

  • “Integration searches carry real intent”

An accountant who searches for a tool that works with Tally or Zoho Books is close to a decision. A page for each integration, written for that search, meets a buyer who is already comparing.

  • “Regulation limits the claims, not the usefulness”

A page need not state a rate or a return to be found. It can explain how the product works, what documents the buyer needs and what happens at each step, all inside what compliance approves.

What we do

What we deliver for FinTech startups.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A task-based keyword map

A list of the money tasks your buyers search for, grouped by buyer type and matched to a page each.

Result: A map showing which page answers which search.

  2. Integration and use-case pages

One page per accounting tool, bank link or business type you serve, written in plain language.

Result: Each integration has its own findable page.

  3. Technical clean-up of the site

Page speed on mobile, headings, internal links and a sitemap, checked against the pages that matter.

Result: A checklist of fixes completed and left open.

  4. A search page for your trust route

A page on the partner, data handling and complaints that matches the way buyers search for reassurance.

Result: One page that appears for the company name plus a trust word, if the search engine chooses.

  5. Search-console tracking

Setup so that searches, clicks and the pages bringing sign-ups are visible together.

Result: A view of which pages bring registered users.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these FinTech startups.

  • Payment gateway and UPI collection startups for small merchants
  • Digital lending and credit-line startups working with an NBFC or bank partner
  • Accounting, invoicing and bill-payment tools for MSMEs
  • Expense, payout and corporate-card startups for finance teams
  • Wealth and investing app startups working under a licensed entity
  • Neobanking and salary-account startups for gig and blue-collar workers
  • Remittance and cross-border payment startups for exporters
  • Regtech and KYC infrastructure startups selling to banks

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • The site does not yet name the partner entity or the grievance route, so a search would land on an incomplete trust page
  • Compliance has not cleared any wording for the public site, so there is nothing safe to publish

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At an interval agreed in writing we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can we rank for loan or payment gateway?
Broad words are held by banks and large players, and nobody can promise a position. Narrow task pages are the realistic opening, and GullySales aims the work there.
Is it safe to publish rate information for SEO?
Only in the form your compliance adviser approves. Rules differ by product and regulator, so check each line. Useful pages can say nothing about rates and explain the process instead.
Do we need a blog for SEO?
Not first. Fix the product, trust and integration pages, then add articles on the tasks buyers search for. A blog without those pages brings readers to nowhere.
Can we publish our partner's name for search?
Only with the partner's agreement and in the form your contract allows. The partner name is what a careful owner looks for, so a trust page that states it meets that need. Ask compliance to review the wording before it goes live.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
