News media companies · Website

Give the reader a clear front page and the advertiser a page that sells space.

A website for a news media company serves two visitors at once: the reader looking for stories and the advertiser looking for rates and proof. GullySales works on the advertise page, the subscribe route and the structure that keeps the site clear for both.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What website means

A website is the page a customer lands on after searching, clicking an advert or scanning a code, and it decides whether they call or leave. GullySales builds and maintains sites that load quickly, explain the offer plainly and make the enquiry form or phone number easy to find.

For news media companies

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The advertise page is missing or buried”

An advertiser who finds no link to rates or contacts moves to the outlet that shows them. A page that lists formats, readership and one way to book answers before the call.

  • “Clutter pushes the reader away”

Pop-ups, autoplay video and too many banners drive readers off a local site. Advertisers see the same page and judge the placement by what they see.

  • “A subscribe route must start at the story”

A reader moved by a council report is ready to pay now. The prompt belongs beside the story, with a short plan and UPI payment, not on a separate page found later.

  • “Phones carry the traffic”

Most local readers arrive on a mobile in a slow network. A heavy page loses them before the headline loads, so weight and layout are decided for the phone first.

What we do

What we deliver for news media companies.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An advertise page

Formats, readership summary, sample ads and a booking form or WhatsApp button on a single page.

Result: A link the ad team can send.

  2. A media kit download

The rate card and audience summary as a file linked from the advertise page.

    Result: One file for agencies.

  3. A subscribe route

A short plan page, a prompt on stories and a payment step that works on a phone.

Result: A reader can pay in a few taps.

  4. A layout review for readers

Banner placement, pop-ups and video behaviour reviewed with your editor and ad head.

Result: A site that serves readers without losing advertisers.

  5. Topic and section pages

Standing pages for recurring local issues, linked from the menu.

Result: Readers find a topic without searching.

  6. Mobile and speed check

Pages tested on a typical phone connection and the heaviest items listed.

Result: A list of changes ranked by effect.

How the result is measured

  • Page load time
  • Bounce rate
  • Enquiries from the website

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Who it is for

This is written for these news media companies.

  • Regional and district newspapers
  • Local news websites and portals
  • YouTube news channels
  • Local cable and digital television news outlets
  • Community radio and local radio news
  • Language-specific news apps and WhatsApp channels
  • Business, trade and sector-specific news publishers
  • Magazines with a news and current affairs focus

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You plan to cover the front page with ads that push the news off the screen on a phone.
  • You have no audience data to put in a media kit, and an empty kit loses the advertiser.
  • Your site is slow on mobile data, which loses readers before the first story loads.

How it works

How the website work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Confirm structure and content

We agree the page list, what each page must answer, and who supplies the text and photographs, before any design starts.

  2. 2

    Design the templates

The home page, a service page, a location page and the enquiry page are designed first, on phone and desktop, and shown to you.

  3. 3

    Build and test

The site is built and checked on real phones and the common browsers. Every form, call button and WhatsApp link is tested end to end.

  4. 4

    Load real content

Actual copy, images and information replace placeholders. Pages are read through once by you, since you spot wrong details we cannot.

  5. 5

    Check before launch

Tracking, page titles, the sitemap and the privacy page are checked on the staging site. If an old site exists, its addresses are mapped so old links still land somewhere.

  6. 6

    Launch and hand over access

The site goes live and we record the domain, hosting, content login and analytics in your name. The first live enquiry is traced to confirm tracking works.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Do we need to rebuild the site?
Often the fix is a few pages and a change in layout, not a new site. Review what you have before deciding.
Should we put prices on the advertise page?
That is your commercial call. Publishing a starting rate saves wasted calls, while keeping rates by quote suits a varied menu. Decide with your ad head.
Can we show audience numbers on the site?
Only figures you can show from your own platforms, with the date. Do not post a number you could not defend to an advertiser.
Should the advertise page show audience numbers?
Show them only if they come from your own analytics and you can explain how they are counted. An advertiser who finds figures that do not match your reports will doubt everything else on the page. A plain description of the readers is safer than a large claim.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
