Online marketplaces · Local SEO
Show up in each locality where your sellers actually work, one pincode at a time.
Local SEO for a marketplace means being found when a buyer searches for a service near them, and in a platform that spans several cities the work is done locality by locality. GullySales sets up the local pages and profiles in places where the platform has live sellers.
Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What local SEO means
Local SEO is the work of making your business show up for searches that name your town or locality, such as a service plus an area name. GullySales sets up locality pages, local citations and map listings so nearby customers find you before a competitor across town.

For online marketplaces
Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.
“A marketplace has no shopfront for Google to place on a map”
The platform may have an office, but the work happens in a buyer's home or a seller's shop. Listing the office as the answer to every local search misleads the buyer and gives the search engine nothing locality-specific to match.
“Locality names differ from the names on the map”
A buyer in Bengaluru says Indiranagar or HSR, a buyer in Hyderabad says Madhapur, and the pincode may not match either. Pages that use the words people say find them, while pages that use administrative names get missed.
“Local ratings carry more weight than platform-wide ratings”
A buyer in one neighbourhood wants to see reviews from that neighbourhood. A platform average from other cities does not answer the question of whether a plumber nearby does good work.
“A seller's own business listing can compete with the platform”
Where a seller already has a profile on a maps listing, the platform page and the seller page may rank against each other. A plan decides which one should be found for which search.
What we do
What we deliver for online marketplaces.
Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.
Locality page plan
A list of localities per city, written in the names buyers say, with the services each should carry.
Result: Locality names match what buyers type, not only what the map shows.
City and locality landing pages
One page for each live locality, with the sellers there, their reviews from that area and a booking route.
Result: A buyer in a locality sees sellers and reviews from that locality.
Business listing setup where it applies
Maps listings for offices, service centres or pickup points the platform actually runs, with accurate details and categories.
Result: Every listing points to a place that exists and is staffed.
Local review collection
A request sent to real buyers after a completed order, so reviews build up locality by locality.
Result: Reviews in each locality come from completed orders only.
Locality supply check
A sheet confirming, before a page goes live, that sellers in that locality have replied recently.
Result: No locality page is published without a recent seller reply.
How the result is measured
- Map pack ranking
- Local search visibility
- Enquiries by locality
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.
Searches your buyers type
The place-based searches a buyer uses to find a local service on a platform.
- Electrician in Koramangala
- A locality page listing electricians who actually work there, with their areas and booking options. Create it only when supply is proven in that locality.
- Beautician at home in Jubilee Hills
- A page for a service that comes to the buyer, naming the localities covered and how the visit is booked. Buyers also check the safety arrangements.
- Plumber near me open now
- A near-me search leans on the searcher's location. The platform's page must show who is available and a clear next step, such as a call.
- Tuition teachers in my pin code
- A pin code search from a parent. A page mapping pin codes to localities lets a parent find a tutor in a neighbouring area.
- Platform name in my city
- A buyer checking that the platform operates locally. A city page stating live services, localities and seller counts you can verify answers the doubt.
Who it is for
This is written for these online marketplaces.
- Local services marketplaces for plumbers, electricians, tutors and beauty professionals
- B2B marketplaces connecting manufacturers and buyers
- Product marketplaces for a niche, such as handlooms, organic food or industrial spares
- Rental marketplaces for equipment, vehicles, furniture or space
- Freelance and talent marketplaces
- Agri marketplaces connecting farmers with buyers
- Used goods and refurbished device marketplaces
- Hyperlocal delivery marketplaces serving one town
- Travel and experiences marketplaces connecting local hosts and guests
Not for
It is not the right fit if.
- You have live sellers in only one locality of a city, and city-wide pages would promise coverage that does not exist.
- Your sellers hold their own listings and would compete with the platform pages, and the terms between you have not been settled.
How it works
How the local SEO work runs
The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.
- 1
Write down what is true
Each branch's real address, signboard name, phone, hours and owning Google account go into one record you sign off. Every later listing is copied from it.
- 2
Search as your buyer does
We search each branch on a phone from points around it, in your buyers' words, and note who appears with what reviews and photos.
- 3
Fix the profile first
Ownership first, then name, address, pin, phone, hours and business type. Google can suspend a profile with extra words in its name or an address that is not a real premises.
- 4
Build the branch pages and match the listings
Each real branch gets its own page, and the other listings are changed to agree with it. We write none for towns without a branch, because Google treats near-identical pages as doorway pages.
- 5
Ask, reply and measure
We agree with each branch who asks for reviews, when and how. Results are set against the baseline recorded before work began, and the branch that is behind gets the next round.
Where this fits
Three pieces of sales work, in this order.
This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.
Step 1
Sales audit
Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.
Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.
Step 2 · you are here
Sales process design
One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.
Start here if every salesperson sells differently.
Step 3
Sales management
A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.
Start here if the team has targets and no routine.
