Shrimp farms · WhatsApp marketing

The harvest notice goes where the plant and the agent already read: WhatsApp.

WhatsApp marketing for a shrimp farm is using WhatsApp to send harvest notices, share crop records and keep buyers informed, from a number the farm controls. GullySales sets up the groups, lists and message formats, and keeps the farm within the platform's current rules.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What WhatsApp marketing means

WhatsApp marketing is sending updates, offers and reminders to customers on the app most Indian buyers already check daily. GullySales sets up business WhatsApp, writes the message templates and keeps the list consented and current.

For shrimp farms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Buyers already live on WhatsApp”

Agents, traders and plant staff share counts and rates in chats all day. A notice posted there is read; an email is not. The farm's job is to send the right message to the right people, and not to everyone.

  • “A group of all buyers shows rivals each other's news”

Putting every plant in one group tells each of them who else is buying. Use separate lists, or direct messages, so a harvest notice reaches buyers one at a time and your negotiating position stays yours.

  • “A message needs the facts or it gets a call back”

A notice that says harvest soon prompts ten questions. One with the pond, the sample count, the quantity and the date answers them. A set format saves the farm the same call repeated.

  • “Broadcast lists need consent”

People expect messages only from numbers they saved or agreed to. Check the platform's current rules before sending to a list, and keep the list to buyers you have actually dealt with.

What we do

What we deliver for shrimp farms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A buyer list set up for WhatsApp

Separate lists for plants, agents, traders and local buyers with the right number for each.

Result: Lists that match your buyer sheet.

  2. A harvest notice format

Pond, sample count, quantity, date and a contact for the farm.

Result: A notice that can be sent as soon as a sample is taken.

  3. Crop record sharing

A way to send the crop record page to a buyer who asks for it.

Result: A saved file ready to forward.

  4. A business account setup

The farm's business profile with name, location and what is grown.

Result: A profile a buyer can check on first contact.

  5. A reply routine

Who answers, within what hours the farm is reachable and what is said.

Result: A written routine the team follows.

How the result is measured

  • Messages delivered
  • Reply rate
  • Enquiries from WhatsApp

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

What goes into a harvest message on WhatsApp, and what is kept out of it.

Pond and species line
One line naming the pond and the species. A buyer scrolling a busy phone can tell at a glance whether the message is for them.
Expected harvest date
Give the date as a window and say if it may move with the weather or water. A plant plans around a date it can trust, not a promise it cannot.
Count range from the last check
State the counts seen at the last sampling in plain terms. Do not call it a final count until the net is lifted.
Crop record link or photo
Attach the single-page record for the crop. A plant that wants to check feed or stocking can do so without phoning.
A reply request
Ask each buyer to reply with yes, no or call me. It turns a broadcast into a list you can act on before the crew is booked.
What stays out
Leave out rates paid by other buyers, names of rival plants and any disease talk. The message is seen by people who compare notes.

Who it is for

This is written for these shrimp farms.

  • Vannamei farms on the east and west coast
  • Tiger shrimp (monodon) farms, including low-density units
  • Inland saline-water shrimp farms
  • Small farms of a few acres with leased ponds
  • Large farms with several ponds and a staggered stocking plan
  • Farmer groups and societies that sell through a common agent
  • Farms that also run their own hatchery link or nursery
  • Farms that supply local hotels, markets and retail shops

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You plan to add every buyer to one group, which would show plants and agents each other's replies.
  • You have not asked buyers for permission to message them, so a broadcast would reach people who never agreed.
  • Your buyers prefer a call and do not read messages, so the better step is to improve the call routine first.

How it works

How the whatsapp marketing work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

Read the chats you already have

We read how customers write to you, which questions repeat and where a chat goes quiet. The repeated questions decide what gets automated first.

  2. 2

Sort the list and the permission

Contacts who asked to hear from you are separated from numbers that only sit in a phone book. We agree the wording new contacts will see before they say yes.

  3. 3

Choose the app or the API

One phone and a small team can stay on the ordinary app. Several people on one number, templates or a CRM link need the API through a provider, which is its own piece of setup work.

  4. 4

Write the replies and the plan

The greeting, away message, saved replies and handover rule are written in your words and approved by you. The message plan and its templates follow.

  5. 5

    Connect the record and test

Each link carries its source line and each chat lands in the CRM. We test on real phones, including a customer who asks for a person.

  6. 6

    Read the unanswered questions

A question the first reply could not answer becomes a new saved reply or a fixed handover. Stop requests are watched too, with the number's quality rating where the API is used, since both show a message plan that has gone too far.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 0, foundation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Can I use my personal number?
You can, but a separate business number keeps buyers from reaching your personal chats. We help set one up and advise on the business account options.
Will WhatsApp ban me for sending notices?
Check the platform's current rules. We keep messages to buyers who know you and have agreed to hear from you, and we do not use bulk tools that break the rules.
Can you send messages for me?
We prepare the formats and lists. Sending to a plant is better from the farm's own number, in the owner's name, so the buyer knows who is on the other end.
Should I use a WhatsApp group for all my buyers?
No. A group lets every plant and agent see who replied and what was said, which weakens your position. Use a broadcast list or separate chats instead. Each buyer then hears from you alone, and you keep the quotes from one buyer apart from another's.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
