Water testing laboratories · Lead generation

Fill the sample bottle queue with buyers who name the test they need.

Lead generation for a water testing laboratory is the steady supply of enquiries that end in a collected bottle, from societies, plants, hotels and borewell owners. GullySales works on where those buyers look, what the enquiry form asks and how each lead is recorded.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

Environmental testing laboratories: show a real physical business scene illustrating Sampling requests and field schedules. Plan sampling rounds by client, site and matrix, assign field staff, and prepare the bottle sets and preservatives needed for each visit before the vehicle leaves.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For water testing laboratories

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “A rate query is not yet a lead”

The message that says how much for a water test tells you nothing about the water, the purpose or the report wanted. If the reply is only a number, the buyer compares it with other labs and disappears. A lead starts when the purpose and the address are known.

  • “Each buyer arrives from a different trigger”

A society secretary writes after a complaint about colour or smell. A bottling plant writes when a licence file needs a report. A builder writes before a construction stage. One generic form for all of them gets half-filled answers and wasted calls.

  • “The best source is already on your phone”

Past plants, hotels and societies are the cheapest leads you will ever have, because they have booked once. Labs that chase new names while the old report dates pass unnoticed are paying twice for the same work.

What we do

What we deliver for water testing laboratories.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A purpose-first enquiry form

The first question is why the test is needed: household, society, packaged water, borewell, effluent or construction. The follow-up fields change with the answer.

Result: Every enquiry arrives with the purpose already stated.

  2. One page per type of buyer

Separate landing pages for societies, plants, hotels and builders, each naming the tests and the sample container for that buyer.

Result: Ads and search results land on a page that matches the need.

  3. A reply script for rate queries

A short answer that gives the package contents beside the price and asks for the purpose, written for WhatsApp and the phone.

Result: The front desk replies with a question, not only a number.

  4. A lead record with source and purpose

Each enquiry logged with where it came from, the test asked for and what happened next.

Result: You can see which source brought bottles and which brought only calls.

  5. A list of past clients due a retest

Every earlier client with the last report date, ready for a call or message.

Result: The oldest reports are the first calls of the day.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

What to capture or send

Record what the enquiry says about the water before you quote.

Purpose of the test
Household, society, packaged water, borewell, effluent or construction. It decides the package quoted and the sample container sent.
Source of the water
Municipal supply, borewell, tanker, storage tank or treated outlet. The collector needs it to choose the sampling point and the bottle.
Collection address and access contact
The pump room or plant gate is rarely the billing address. Record who lets the collector in so the visit is not wasted.
Report needed and who receives it
A licence file, an auditor, a lender or the household alone. It tells the front desk whether the accreditation scope matters to this buyer.
Date of the last test
Blank for a first-timer. For a plant or hotel it sets the retest date and shows that the lead is a past client.

Who it is for

This is written for these water testing laboratories.

  • Drinking water testing for households and housing societies
  • Testing for packaged drinking water and mineral water plants
  • Borewell and groundwater testing for farms and builders
  • Hotel, hospital and school drinking water compliance testing
  • Industrial effluent and boiler water testing laboratories
  • Swimming pool and cooling tower water testing
  • Construction water testing for concrete and curing
  • NABL-accredited labs and non-accredited local labs

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You have no collector route for the areas the leads come from, so a booked bottle would sit uncollected.
  • Your front desk cannot say which tests fall inside your accreditation scope, so a plant lead would get a vague answer and go elsewhere.

How it works

How the lead generation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We ask how many enquiries your team can answer well, who answers after hours, and what a good enquiry looks like. Without this, the system fills a funnel nobody is watching.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We read your call log, WhatsApp chats, enquiry sheet and platform dashboards. The baseline is recorded: enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Search and maps are chosen for people ready to buy, ads for people who are not yet looking, and content and referrals for trust.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms, tags, the lead record and the first-reply message are built and tested end to end. We submit test enquiries ourselves before any media money is spent.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

Enquiries are traced to source and judged by what became orders, not by volume alone. Channels that fill the sheet with poor enquiries are cut back. How often you are reported to is agreed in writing.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Should we run ads for water testing?
It depends on whether your collection area is clear and your booking flow is ready. Ads send people to a page; if the page cannot book a collection, the spend is wasted. We set the page and the record first, then decide on ads.
Which source gives the best leads for a lab?
Past clients and referrers such as RO dealers and borewell contractors come first, because the buyer already trusts someone. Search and the map listing follow. We record the source on every enquiry so your own figures answer this.
What should we do with enquiries from outside our collection area?
Reply with the areas you cover and keep the address on record. A lab can only collect where its collector reaches, because a bottle carried a long way gives a report buyers distrust. The record also shows where demand sits.
Should one person own the lead record?
Yes, one person at the front desk. Leads passed between the desk, the collector and the lab head lose the purpose field first, and the purpose decides the quote. That person also dates the next call against each name.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
