Plastic injection moulding units · Sales strategy

Decide whether to chase new OEM accounts or grow the ones already running.

A sales strategy for a moulding unit decides how much effort goes into winning new OEM accounts through RFQs, versus growing the components ordered by existing accounts. Tonnage capacity and quoting time are both limited. GullySales builds this around your actual spare capacity and the account history you already have.

A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.

A war room: a large map table under a hooded lamp, counters grouped behind a marked line, and a long rake that has pushed one group of counters forward across it

What sales strategy means

Sales strategy is deciding which customers to chase, through which channel and at what price, instead of every salesperson working their own way. GullySales sets this plan against your actual pipeline and the deals you have won and lost so far.

For plastic injection moulding units

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Existing accounts are usually the fastest growth”

An OEM already running one component with the unit is easier to sell a second or third component to than a new account is to win from scratch. Yet this expansion often goes unpursued while the sales effort chases fresh RFQs.

  • “New account acquisition depends on spare capacity”

Chasing new RFQs while every press is already committed to existing production only creates quotes the unit cannot deliver on time, damaging the reputation the strategy was meant to build.

  • “Export orders need a different quoting and logistics approach”

A strategy including export production runs has to account for longer lead times, shipping and documentation, which a domestic-only quoting process is not set up to handle.

What we do

What we deliver for plastic injection moulding units.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An account expansion list for existing OEMs

A list of existing OEM accounts matched against other components they could plausibly order next, based on parts already running.

Result: Growth starts with buyers who already trust the unit.

  2. A capacity-checked new account target list

New OEM segments to chase, checked against actual spare tonnage before any outbound effort begins.

Result: New RFQs are chased only where they can be delivered on time.

  3. A written export readiness note

A short assessment of what an export order would need in lead time, shipping and documentation, before quoting one.

Result: An export enquiry gets a realistic quote instead of a domestic one stretched to fit.

  4. A written account priority list

A ranked list of which existing and prospective accounts deserve the sales team's time, based on capacity and margin.

Result: Sales effort goes to the accounts most likely to grow, not just the loudest one.

  5. A capacity-linked rule for new RFQs

A simple written rule for deciding whether to quote a new RFQ based on current press commitments, agreed with the team.

Result: The unit stops quoting business it cannot actually deliver on time.

How the result is measured

  • Win rate

  • Pipeline coverage against target

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

How the work runs for plastic injection moulding units

  1. 1

    Assess

We look at where the unit is listed and how it appears against the process, material and tonnage buyers actually search for. We also check how fast RFQs are answered, and where sample approvals are stalling.

  2. 2

Fix the listings and the RFQ reply

IndiaMART and directory profiles updated with current tonnage, materials and past components, and a same-day RFQ response routine the quoting team can actually run.

  3. 3

    Build the capability collateral

A capability document and web pages that state tonnage range, tooling lead time, resins handled and certifications, so a buyer can shortlist the unit without a phone call first.

  4. 4

Win the RFQ and the sample order

Outbound prospecting to OEM sourcing teams, a tender and RFP process that does not miss a submission date, and a sample follow-up routine that keeps approval moving.

  5. 5

Keep the account and grow it

A record of every RFQ and sample by buyer, an on-time delivery track record kept visible, and outreach for the next component once the first order is running smoothly.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Should a moulding unit focus on new accounts or existing ones?
Usually both, but existing accounts with spare capacity to absorb a second component are often the faster, lower-cost path to growth than chasing entirely new RFQs.
How does capacity affect the strategy?
Directly. Pursuing new business without spare tonnage capacity creates quotes and orders the unit cannot deliver reliably, so the strategy has to start from what capacity actually exists.
How is marketing different for a moulding unit compared to a consumer brand?
A moulding unit is bought by a procurement engineer comparing tonnage, tooling lead time and an RFQ reply, not persuaded by a social media post. The work is visibility on IndiaMART and directories, a fast and complete RFQ response, and collateral that shows real capability.
Do we need ads or SEO for a moulding unit?
Most units get more from a complete, current directory listing and a faster RFQ reply than from advertising. Search visibility helps once the listings and response process are solid and the unit wants to be found for a specific process or material.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped in the free audit and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after the audit, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
Fixes to reply time, follow-up and your Google Business Profile usually show in weeks, because the enquiries already exist. Ads show in days once follow-up is ready. SEO and content take months. The audit tells you which applies to you.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you meet on the audit call. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
For the audit, last month's enquiries in any format and 90 minutes with whoever handles them. After that, access to the accounts the work touches, such as the website, Google Business Profile or CRM, and time for the review meetings.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
