Plastic injection moulding units · Manufacturing
Win the RFQ before the tooling quote goes to three other vendors.
A procurement engineer sourcing a new plastic part checks IndiaMART, directories and vendor referrals, then shortlists three or four moulders. Each gets an RFQ asking for tonnage, tooling lead time and a quote against a drawing. The fastest complete reply gets the sample run, and a sample within tolerance gets the order.
A 90-minute audit call and a written, scored report. Turnaround, reporting and term are agreed in writing after the audit.
In one paragraph
Marketing for an injection moulding unit means being shortlisted by the procurement engineer sourcing a plastic part, on IndiaMART, in directories or by referral. Sales means winning the RFQ, the sample approval and the production order. GullySales builds the listings, the capability document and the RFQ routine that get a drawing quoted the same day.
Posting machine photographs on a website once does not win this business. A moulding unit has to be found for the exact process and material the buyer is sourcing, then answer the RFQ with tooling and tonnage a purchase head can check. Then comes the sample approval cycle. Most of those stall because nobody rang to ask where the sample had reached.
How buyers decide
How plastic injection moulding units are chosen.
Most sourcing starts on IndiaMART, industry directories or at a trade exhibition such as Plastindia. There, a buyer compares listed tonnage, machine count and past components before shortlisting three or four vendors. A referral from an existing supplier or a tool room carries as much weight as any listing.
The shortlisted vendors receive an RFQ against a drawing. The reply is judged on tooling lead time, the resin proposed, and whether ABS, polypropylene or a glass-filled nylon changes the quote. Machine capacity and tonnage available for the run size matter too. A vague quote with no tooling breakdown is usually dropped from the list.
The unit that gets a sample approved against the drawing's tolerance moves to a production order. The relationship is only secured once a second and third order arrive without a fresh RFQ round. Automotive and appliance OEMs also expect ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 specifically for automotive parts, before the account is trusted with volume.
The problem
What usually goes wrong for plastic injection moulding units.
What owners tell us on the first call, in their words.
“The unit does not show up when a buyer searches for the process and material”
A procurement engineer searching for injection moulding in polypropylene or a specific tonnage range on IndiaMART or a directory does not find the unit's listing. It was set up once at registration and never updated with the machines and materials actually run today.
“RFQs sit unanswered while the buyer moves to the next vendor”
A drawing arrives by email while the quoting engineer is on the shop floor. The reply goes out four days later, with no tooling lead time stated. By then the buyer has already sent a sample order to a competitor who replied within a day.
“Sample approval stalls with no one chasing it”
A sample is couriered to the OEM, and the unit waits for feedback instead of following up. A minor tolerance issue that could have been fixed in a week then sits unresolved for a month, and the production order goes cold.
“Our capability document states a tonnage range we no longer run”
A 250-tonne press was sold months ago, but the PDF sent with every RFQ still lists it. A buyer who spots the gap on a site visit starts doubting the rest of the quote.
“A cold email to a new OEM gets no reply”
An introduction sent to a new sourcing contact lists everything the unit makes instead of the one component category it is strongest in, and it is deleted unread.
“We do not track how many samples were sent against how many turned into an order”
The order book shows what was won, not what was quoted and lost, so nobody can say where most RFQs are actually falling away.
“A missed delivery date gets a vague apology instead of a real answer”
An OEM whose line is waiting on a delayed component gets silence for two days, and the account quietly reduces the next order instead of complaining.
“Our own website knows less about our machines than our vendors do”
A buyer researching the unit before an RFQ finds outdated specification pages and calls to ask questions the site should already answer.
What we do
What we do for plastic injection moulding units.
Everything included for plastic injection moulding units, and the result each part is there to produce.
Capability pages per process and material
A page for automotive components, appliance housings and other processes, stating tonnage, resin and tolerance for each.
Result: A buyer researching one process finds the page built for it.
Same-day RFQ reply with tooling lead time stated
A routine so a quoting engineer picks up an RFQ the same day it lands, with tonnage and tooling lead time in the first paragraph.
Result: The unit stays on the buyer's shortlist through the first cut.
IndiaMART and directory listings kept current
Directory listings rebuilt with current tonnage, machine count, materials and past components.
Result: A directory search finds the unit shortlist-ready.
LinkedIn content for procurement audiences
Posts showing real components, tonnage and certifications, aimed at procurement and sourcing job titles.
Result: Content reaches the people who actually send RFQs.
Search advertising for process and material terms
Campaigns built around a named material and tonnage range, sending the click to the matching capability page.
Result: Spend goes toward a buyer already close to sending an RFQ.
RFQ-to-order record with a named owner
A single record tracking every RFQ from quote to sample to order, with a named person responsible for each open sample.
Result: A sample stops sitting unapproved for want of a follow-up call.
Sample follow-up and account health routine
A scheduled follow-up after every sample is sent, plus a regular check-in with existing OEM accounts.
Result: A tolerance issue or a quietly cooling account surfaces early.
Report against the baseline
RFQs, quotes, samples and orders reported against the baseline recorded before work started.
Result: The unit sees where the pipeline is actually moving or stalling.
How the result is measured
- RFQs received and reply time by enquiry
- Quotes sent versus samples approved versus orders won
- Tooling lead time against what was quoted
- On-time delivery rate for production runs
- Repeat orders from existing OEM accounts
- Enquiries by source: directory, exhibition, referral
Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Two-shot and insert moulding specialisation campaign
Content naming two-shot and insert moulding as a specific strength, replacing a general job-shop listing that competes on price alone.
