Export-import consultants · Search engine optimisation

Rank for the product and the country, not for the name of a form.

SEO for an export-import consultant is the work of appearing when an owner searches for how to export or import a specific product. GullySales plans the pages, the search terms behind them and the technical basics of the site, with no promise about positions.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What search engine optimisation means

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is the work of getting your website to appear when a buyer searches Google for what you sell. GullySales builds pages around real search terms, fixes technical issues that block ranking, and tracks which searches actually bring enquiries.

For export-import consultants

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Owners search by product, not by registration”

A rice exporter types the product and the destination, then the form names later. A site built around IEC, RCMC and LUT headings matches the consultant's vocabulary and misses the owner's first search.

  • “Rules change and old pages mislead”

A page that quotes a scheme or duty rate after it has changed damages trust with the exact reader who checks. Each page needs a named owner on your team and a date of last check.

  • “Exporters and importers use different words”

An exporter searches buyers, incentives and certificates. An importer searches duty, licence and clearance. One page for both fits neither, and search engines treat the muddled page as weak for both.

  • “Thin pages on every product dilute the site”

Forty near-identical pages that swap one product name tell the search engine nothing new. A few pages with real handling detail, such as documents, packaging and certificates for that product, are worth more.

What we do

What we deliver for export-import consultants.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. Search term map by product and route

A list of the products, countries and import items you handle, set against the phrases owners use for each.

Result: You can read which pages are worth writing first.

  2. Product and country pages with real detail

Pages that describe the documents, checks and sticking points for one route, written for your team to verify.

Result: Each page carries detail an owner of that product recognises.

  3. A last-checked line on rule-based pages

A visible line on each page naming when your team last compared it with the current notification.

Result: A reader can see the page has been reviewed.

  4. Technical clean-up

Titles, headings, page speed, mobile layout and internal links, corrected on the existing site.

Result: The site has no missing titles or broken links to explain away.

  5. Search Console set-up

Search Console connected so you can see which searches reach the site and which pages they land on.

Result: You see the real searches and not guesses.

How the result is measured

  • Ranking positions
  • Organic traffic
  • Enquiries from organic search

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

How it works

How the search engine optimisation work runs

The work itself, in order. How an engagement starts, from your brief to a written scope, is set out on our method page.

  1. 1

    Audit and baseline

We record where the site stands today: positions, traffic, technical faults and the enquiries search currently produces. Nothing starts until this number is written down.

  2. 2

    Decide what to rank for

We map the searches your buyers use, in your words and theirs, and pick the ones worth the effort for your margin and your capacity.

  3. 3

    Fix the foundations

Technical faults first, because the cheapest gains are usually there. Then the Business Profile and directory consistency.

  4. 4

    Build the pages

A page for each thing you do, written to answer the question it is searched for, with a clear next step at the end.

  5. 5

    Publish and earn mentions

Content goes out on the calendar. Links and mentions are earned from real relationships, not bought.

  6. 6

    Measure, report, adjust

At the interval agreed at the start we report what moved and what did not, and change the plan when the numbers say so.

Where this fits

Three pieces of sales work, in this order.

This work sits inside sales process design, at stage 1, prospecting and lead generation. The audit comes before it, and sales management keeps it running.

  1. Step 1

    Sales audit

Find where deals are being lost and what to fix first.

Start here if you cannot say where orders are lost.

  2. Step 2 · you are here

    Sales process design

One written way to sell, from first enquiry to repeat order.

Start here if every salesperson sells differently.

  3. Step 3

    Sales management

A target, a review routine and someone who owns the number.

Start here if the team has targets and no routine.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Will SEO put my site at the top for exporting from India?
No one can promise a position. General phrases are contested by government portals and large directories. Product and country pages face fewer competitors and match what a specific owner types, so that is where the work starts.
Do I need a blog for SEO?
Not as a first step. Product and route pages come first, because they answer the search that leads to an enquiry. Articles on a stuck shipment or a rejected claim can follow once those pages exist.
How do I handle rules that change?
Date every rule-based page and give it an owner on your team. When a notification changes, that owner updates the page, and GullySales keeps the schedule of pages to recheck.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
What if we are not happy with the work?
Tell us and the plan changes. Everything is reported against the baseline, so a number that is not moving is visible to both sides. The term is in your written scope, and the refund and cancellation policy sets out the rest.
