Tax consulting firms · Lead generation

The notice has a reply date on it, and so does the enquiry.

Lead generation for a tax firm is an owner ringing with a notice and a reply date, sorted fast by authority, section and whether books exist. GullySales sets those first questions, puts the filing-season rush into one list, and follows every proposal the firm sends out.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What lead generation means

Lead generation is the combined work of every channel that brings in a new enquiry, whether from search, adverts, referrals or a stall at an exhibition. GullySales runs these channels together and reports the number of enquiries each one produced, not the activity behind it.

For tax consulting firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “The date on the paper sets your reply time”

A reply window of a few weeks means the owner is ringing four firms this afternoon, and the second call back is already late.

  • “Half the callers want the answer, not the engagement”

Someone reads the notice down the phone and waits. Ask what the turnover is and who kept the books, because a case with no records is a different job.

  • “A month of calls arrives in one fortnight”

The last two weeks of July and the days after a GST due date bring everything at once, and that is when one gets lost.

What we do

What we deliver for tax consulting firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. An intake form built around the notice

Authority, section, the date on the paper, the reply window, turnover and who keeps the books, captured on the first call or from the website.

Result: The partner knows the case before picking up.

  2. Same-day acknowledgement carrying the next step

A short reply inside working hours saying what you need from them and when you will come back, sent even when the partner is in a hearing.

Result: The owner stops ringing the next firm.

  3. One shared list for the rush weeks

Calls, emails, WhatsApp messages and referrals in a single list through the season, each with a name against it and a state.

Result: Nobody in the last week of July is going on memory.

  4. A follow-up schedule on every proposal

A check-in a few days after the fee note goes out and one more before the due date, with what was said written down.

Result: A quiet proposal gets a second chance.

  5. The referrer tagged at first contact

Who sent this client recorded on the first call, whether that was a banker, a fellow professional or an existing client.

Result: After one season you can see which relationship earns.

  6. Enquiries and engagements reported by situation

A count of enquiries, proposals and signed engagements split by notice, filing and advisory work, against the baseline taken at the start.

Result: You see which kind of work is actually growing.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries generated
  • Cost per enquiry
  • Enquiries by source

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where enquiries come from

The doors through which a tax enquiry arrives, and what to write down before anyone is advised.

A call from someone holding a notice
Record the authority, the section, the financial year and the reply date, and whether books exist. The date on the paper sets how soon to reply, so log it first.
A referral from a CA, banker or lawyer
Note the referrer and what he asked you to do. Tell him the outcome of the introduction, and check your professional body's rules on any fee sharing.
A friend or relative of an existing client
Record the client who recommended you. This source rarely appears in a report unless it is tagged at first contact, so ask 'who suggested us' and write it down.
A reader of one of your articles
Tag the article and the topic. Someone who read a page on a GST change is already thinking about his own case, so ask the one question the article raised.
A WhatsApp message during a filing deadline
Save the thread under the client's name with the service and due date. Add it to the shared deadline list the same day, or it is lost among forwarded messages.
A founder registering a new business
Record the business type, the state, and the services asked. A startup needs registration, GST and books together, so note the full list and not only the first request.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the lead generation work runs

  1. 1

    Understand your capacity

We agree how many enquiries your sales team can actually handle well, so the system is not built to overwhelm it.

  2. 2

    Audit current sources

We check what already brings in enquiries today, even informally, before adding anything new.

  3. 3

    Strategise the channel mix

Content, search and paid channels are chosen based on where your buyers already look.

  4. 4

    Implement capture and follow-up

Pages, forms and a follow-up process are built and connected end to end.

  5. 5

    Measure and optimise

We track enquiry volume and quality and adjust the channel mix to match.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

How do we take the call without giving the answer away?
Tell the owner what the notice is and what the window is, then stop. Reading his ledgers is the engagement. Most owners see the difference once you have shown that you know what the paper says.
Someone rings the day before the due date. Do we take it?
Only if it can be done properly, and say so plainly if it cannot. A rushed filing carries your name on the record. Be honest that the date will be missed and offer to handle what comes after it.
A client we filed for last year rings about a notice. Is that a new lead?
It is a new enquiry on an existing client. Log it with the source marked as an existing client, so you can see how much work comes from people you already serve, and attach his earlier details so you do not ask for them again.
Should we buy leads from a website that sells tax enquiries?
Be careful. The same enquiry may go to several firms, and you may be paying for people who only want a quote. Check your professional body's rules on advertising and solicitation first. If you test it, tag each lead and compare the engagements it produced.
Do we need to advertise?
Not at first. A page that explains a GST notice reaches the owner who is searching for it today, with no media spend. Paid search helps for a short push, such as the fortnight before the July income tax deadline.
We are chartered accountants. Are we even allowed to market the firm?
Within limits. ICAI's Code of Ethics restricts how a CA in practice can advertise or solicit clients, and ICAI publishes guidelines on what a firm website may carry. We write explanatory pages inside those limits, with no claims of superiority, and your partner checks the copy before it goes live.
How much does it cost?
There is no price list, because the work differs by business. The fee is scoped after we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything starts, split into our time, your media spend and production.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
