Tax consulting firms · Digital marketing

Build the year around the compliance calendar, not around a content plan.

Digital marketing for a tax firm is the plan across search, the website, client reminders and referral relationships, built inside whatever your professional body allows. GullySales writes that plan against the filing calendar, puts a compliance check in front of everything published, and reports on engagements rather than traffic.

Scope, fee, reporting and term are agreed in writing after we have read your brief and spoken to you.

What digital marketing means

Digital marketing is the combined work of search, social media, advertising and website channels running together rather than as separate projects with separate people. GullySales runs these as one connected system so a change in one channel, such as a new offer, is reflected everywhere at once.

For tax consulting firms

Where it usually goes wrong, and what we would do.

  • “Referral and retention carry the firm, not the website”

The site has to hold up when a banker checks you, and when last season's client comes looking in June.

  • “The calendar is already written for you”

Monthly returns, quarterly statements, the July deadline and the audit season decide when anyone is listening. Nothing else sets the rhythm.

  • “One rule governs everything you put out”

The limits on what a practising professional may say apply to the site, the listing, a post and an advert alike, so the plan starts there.

What we do

What we deliver for tax consulting firms.

Every deliverable, what it covers for you, and the result it is there to produce. Nothing here is an extra.

  1. A plan laid over the compliance calendar

What goes out in which month, matched to the returns, the audit season and the tax-saving quarter, with the quiet months used for building.

Result: Effort lands when owners are paying attention.

  2. A compliance step inside the publishing routine

Every page, post and advert reviewed by your partner against the code the firm works under, with the claims flagged for them to read.

Result: Nothing reaches the public unchecked.

  3. The website reorganised by situation

Sections built around the problems clients arrive with, rather than a list of service names copied from every other firm's site.

Result: A worried owner lands somewhere that recognises his problem.

  4. A referral routine with bankers and other professionals

A one-page note on the work you take, a list of who should have it, and a record of which relationship sent what.

Result: Referrals stop depending on who you met recently.

  5. Client reminders that run through the year

Due date notes, document lists and a June check on last season's clients, sent from the firm rather than by whoever remembers.

Result: Clients stop drifting between seasons.

  6. Reporting on enquiries and engagements

Figures for enquiries by source, proposals sent, engagements signed and clients retained, against the baseline recorded before work starts.

Result: You can tell whether the work is paying for itself.

How the result is measured

  • Enquiries across channels
  • Cost per enquiry overall
  • Channel mix by contribution

Recorded as a baseline before work starts, so every later report has an honest comparison.

Where to start for tax firms

Write pages for the situations clients are in, and review everything before it goes live.

A page for each situation
Write pages for a GST notice, a late return, an NRI return and a new-business registration, in the words a worried client uses. Note which page each enquiry came from.
A compliance step before publishing
Name one partner who checks every page and post against your professional body's advertising rules, which differ and change. Record the date of each review.
The Maps profile
Complete the profile with services, hours and the firm's membership details as your body allows. Count calls and direction requests.
Client reminders by deadline
Build a client list sorted by service and send reminders ahead of each filing date. Record how many reply and how many return the next year.
A referral list of bankers and professionals
Write down the bankers, advisers and other professionals who send clients, with the clients each sent. Meet the ones who send before seeking new ones.
What to leave until later
Paid ads that name outcomes and general tax-tip posting can wait. A firm in this trade grows on referrals and returning clients.

Not for

It is not the right fit if.

  • You want a guaranteed Google ranking or a guaranteed number of leads. Nobody honest can promise either.
  • You need enquiries by next week and have nobody to answer them.
  • You want posts and reach reported, not enquiries and orders.

How it works

From your first message to the first report.

No open-ended retainer. Every step gives you something in writing.

  1. First

    Your brief

You tell us what you need in a few short steps: your business, what you want, where enquiries come from and how they are handled.

  2. After the brief

A conversation and a written scope

We read it, then talk with whoever handles your enquiries. If you want our help, the scope, the fee and the reporting come in writing, and nothing starts before you have read them.

  3. Before work starts

    Baseline recorded

Enquiries by source, reply time, conversion and cost per order, written down so every later report has an honest comparison.

  4. After the baseline

    The first fix goes live

The fix we agreed to start with is put in place and measured against the baseline, whether that is reply time, a follow-up sequence, the page buyers land on or the handover between marketing and sales.

  5. As agreed

    Report against the baseline

What moved, what did not, and what changes next, in plain words. How often you get it is set in writing before work starts.

  6. At renewal

    Renew on the numbers

The term ends and you decide whether to continue from the results. The length is agreed in writing before anything starts.

How the digital marketing work runs

  1. 1

    Understand the objective

We agree the one thing this campaign needs to achieve before choosing any channel.

  2. 2

    Audit available channels

We assess which channels are realistic to run well within the budget and timeline.

  3. 3

    Strategise the central idea

One message and offer is developed that will work across every planned channel.

  4. 4

    Implement across channels

Each channel receives its own adapted version, launched on a shared timeline.

  5. 5

    Measure as one campaign

Results from every channel are combined into a single report against the original objective.

Why us

Why owners pick GullySales over an agency.

  • Marketing and sales, as one job

Most agencies stop at the enquiry. We also fix what happens after it: the reply, the follow-up, the quote and the CRM.

  • The person on the first call does the work

No account managers in between. You are never handed to someone you have not met.

  • A baseline before anything starts

Your numbers are written down on day one, so every later report compares against something honest.

  • The fee in writing, split three ways

Our time, your media spend and production on separate lines. You always see what goes to us.

  • No guarantees we cannot keep

The term is agreed in writing and never a default twelve months. We never promise a ranking or a lead count, because nobody controls those.

  • One office, and we say so

Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru. We work across India by call and WhatsApp and travel when a session needs to be in person.

FAQ

Questions owners ask before they call.

Not here? More answers, or ask on WhatsApp.

Where should a two-partner firm start?
With the enquiry routine and the client reminders, because neither costs anything in media and both stop losses you already have. Search pages come next. Advertising comes last, and only once your firm's position on it is settled.
How is the fee worked out?
After we have read your brief and spoken to you, and put in writing before anything begins, separating our time from any media spend and from production costs. The term is agreed in writing. For most tax firms the media share is small, because the work is writing and follow-up.
Can we publish client reviews or testimonials?
Rules on this differ by professional body and change, so check your own institute's current guidance. Never imply an outcome on a notice or refund. Ask the compliance partner to decide once, write the rule down and apply it to every page.
How do we find out which referral source is worth our time?
Add a referred-by line at the first call and record the name. Later, note whether each referral became an engagement. A banker who sends five calls and no engagements is different from one who sends one client who stays.
Do we need to advertise?
Not at first. A page that explains a GST notice reaches the owner who is searching for it today, with no media spend. Paid search helps for a short push, such as the fortnight before the July income tax deadline.
We are chartered accountants. Are we even allowed to market the firm?
Within limits. ICAI's Code of Ethics restricts how a CA in practice can advertise or solicit clients, and ICAI publishes guidelines on what a firm website may carry. We write explanatory pages inside those limits, with no claims of superiority, and your partner checks the copy before it goes live.
How long is the contract?
The term is agreed in writing after we have spoken, along with the fee and the reporting. It is never a default twelve months, and renewal is decided on the numbers against the baseline recorded at the start.
How soon will we see results?
It depends on the trade, the channel and what is already in place. After we have read your brief and spoken to you, we say what we would expect to move first and how it will be measured against the baseline. Nothing here is guaranteed.
Who will actually do the work?
The person you speak to before anything starts. We work from one office in Nagarbhavi, Bengaluru, with no account managers in between.
What do you need from us?
Your brief, and a conversation. After that, access to whatever this work touches, such as your website, your accounts or your enquiry record, and time with the people who handle your enquiries.
